a ppk for a 6 plant limit

Do they all tie into the same control container? Or is it the reservoir that they all share?

(Or do they share both?)

so, what is your input and what is the recirculating part reading? i never got to try running them all in veg and flower from one reservoir.

Input is 600 ppm (360/240) on top of the 155 ppm tap water for a total input of 755. ph 6.23

Main res is sitting at 1145 ppm right after a flood. ph 6.13

Let's see if I can describe this properly...

Look at the first pic. My mixing res is above, main res below. Behind that shelf is the veg tent. To the right is the flower room. You can see in the second pic that there's a red feed line and a pvc return line attaching the main res and the flower room. Behind the res I have plumbed four hoses into the bottom of the tank for a return. The next picture shows the t fitting used to split feed between the two rooms. I tried to picture the small return lines.

All twelve sites are fed from the same res and all nutes return to that same res, both from the veg and flower rooms.

Keep in mind that I run a perpetual setup so each of the twelve plants is eight days older or younger than the girl sitting next to her.

D9,

Regarding your post in the "Plants in PPK's" thread and the increased trich production w/ MH. This is something that was recently suggested to me by a grow bro. He switches out all his hps for (10k spec.) mh bulbs the last 10-14 days of the flowering cycle to ramp up the frost! He swears by it, havent seen it with my own eyes, but i believe ya'll are on to something!

is it the UVs produced by the MH?

Hortilux has just released some UV type of T5 lamps for what it's worth.

1145 is a little hot for small plants but it seems to be working.

two rooms with the same cutting started at the same time time, sharing the same reservoir. the difference was pronounced. visibly and noticeably!

but i think you want 4-5k color temp mh bulbs as they have more sheer power than a 10k at the same wattage. and just as much uva and uvb.

https://www.1000bulbs.com/pdf/ge-47326-spec.pdf

this is the bulb i'm using in the middle of the domes. it comes with uv warnings.

it is the bulb used in most pro and college football stadiums. 1500 watt and 170,000 initial lumens.

i think so but also you can see the spectral distribution is really good, very close to daylight. that's why the photographers like them.

look at the price from 1000bulbs. 21.06 ea. they only have a 3000 hour rated life but who cares?

Hello again Gents. Can I ask, how long is the tail piece? Only 70 qt. bottoms and 7 gal tops in my area. No ABS pipe or fittings in this area as well. Guy at HD was from CO., said they had there , but not in this area. Looks like PVC should work with flush mount snap in drains.

D9 was cutting the new tail pieces to 8" cause the snap in drains are about 2" and the screens end up at the 6" mark after sliding in the snap/internal fittings. So basically u will have 6" of wick/drain with medium in it to use to set ur air gap.
If u were to put the screen on the end of the pvc and zip tie like the old way then 6" pvc would work. But if u are using the male and female adapters then u want to count the length of the pvc and the female fitting attatched to it as 6" total.

What's up guys? Should have all my supplies to build my PPK setup by this week. Great plains won't ship the 7gal feed dishes to be for some reason so I have to source those locally.

Anyway, is this the hose type I'm looking for? I don't see neoprene anywhere listed on the documentation but this is the Goodyear hose sold at Home depot.

OK, cool. So we want 6 inches of medium in the tail piece and aprox. 1-4 inches of that medium submerged depending on moisture content of the medium above?

Yep that's the correct hose. No leaks! I wish we had known about that before I went and got all these different connections. U r gonna love using that instead of glueing in the elec fittings or bulkheads/flood and drain fittings I originally used.

Anytime I adjust or change anything in the ppk system, I convert over to that hose.

Oh by the way, I found my Turface MVP today. Local sod farm carries it. $9.90 per 50 lb bag. He has 100 pallets of it.

Cool! Sounds like a pretty good deal.

Question for when I find a source of turface. Is turface basically an alternative to using mulch for landscaping purposes? So if someone happens to ask what im doing with it, can I say im redoing a flower bed?
