Thanks! To my surprise you can actually still got some of these genetics. Real Gorilla Seeds has some available, check out their outdoor gear. They have an early version of the bluebonic, also some of KrK's patriot medicine. They also have some freezeland IBL and other crosses with it. The Guerilla Gold (GG #2&3), have same genetics as the Early Bramble. They also have the MAF crossed back with the freezeland. I just received an order from them a few weeks ago.

I've got some of those maff s as freebies. Not sure they'll be the same being BXed. A guy did a grow diary last fall and they weren't done till mid October or later. I was under the impression they were an end of Aug early Sept finishing. Strain? Mid October is definitely trouble here at 45th in Michigan. I wish. People wouldn't BX all of these strains. If you've got something good leave it be.

I’m really enjoying the photos and descriptions of your plants.
It makes me feel really nostalgic about the old lines we used to get here. It was the stories attached to them that made them really special too.

I saw that too Linde, and asked the question about late finish. Grower mentioned he was in an urban area with lots of night lights, so that could have been a factor. It was backcrossed to the freezeland which should be a mid September finisher, so hopeing they will still finish in sept at 46 lat.

I agree. You would think being crossed with a freezeland would keep it quick. Maybe he had an odd pheno. Give her a try.

I don't have access to the auto affie anymore. Reibsi was the father of that beauty and I lost contact with him about 10 years ago. Been trying to replace it since. I actually ordered some Dr Greenthumb Iranian autoflower to see if its the same thing. Rumour has it that it's actually an S1 of the auto affie clone. We'll see, that's if I even get the seeds...

I don’t think so Pioneer, what's special about the auto affie is that you can veg it and clone it under 24hr light, but as soon as you put it outside it starts budding in a couple weeks. Haven't found another stain that does that.

Got my hands on some Dr Greenthumb Iranian Autoflower. We'll see if I can find a special one that performs similarly to the auto affie.
Got some STS coming so that I can hopefully make some female seeds with it.
Wouldn't "auto affie" x freezeland rock for northern outdoor?

I'm growing outdoors in 62 lat Finland. Surroundings of your spots looks very familiar to me. It's not easy to grow this far north and the harvest always depends on the weather.

Finnish outdoor gear back in the days were mostly danish/dutch/canadian origin. If i remember correct early wonder skunk was originally from canada. I did grow that and it performed well in here.

Thanks northstate, it's certainly a challenge, but I'm not as far north as you. Either way, if you don't pick the right strains that finish before end of September you're taking a big risk. Early to mid September is perfect.
And yes, the early wonder skunk was another classic early outdoor finisher!
What are your choice strains that do well at 62 lat?

Thanks goingrey, it's been fun trying all the different strains looking for the best outdoor plants for my area. But it wasn't always good, I've had a few fails that were heartbreaking. Will have to share those pics too...

OK so I've shown some of the nice plants I've had the pleasure of growing outdoors but it wasn't always successful grows. This is where I show how strain selection for outdoors should be your #1 priority. Don't matter how good of a grower you are if you don't have the right strain you will get minimal results. And if you are getting clones from someone else, make damn sure you TRUST that person so that you know you're getting the strain they say it is!
So, after having some mold issues with the Mighty Durban, I had someone reach out from UTG saying he was local and had an awesome Mighty Durban pheno clone that was fully done by mid September at the latest and really mold resistant. He was willing to share so that I could try them. Didn't know the guy but trusted he knew what he was talking about so got a hand full to try out.....

They started great, grew into some massive plants in my swamp tubes, but they took for ever to start budding. Here they were second week of September only a few weeks into flower (yeah right done by mid September!) You can see the hardwood trees in the back ground starting to change color... These were wwaayyy too late and would need until third week of October to finish.

I tried to let them go as long as I could but first week of October we got hit by a hurricane, and they had already endured some heavy frosts (so I took them down). The result was terrible, not only were they too late they had the weakest limbs I've seen on outdoor plants. I only harvested maybe 15-20% of what I should have and it was just a bunch of pre-mature top buds... Disaster and a hard lesson learned, I'm sure buddy hadn't even grew any of his "wicked MD " outdoors. That's why I don't waste my time on anything that doesn't finish by the 3rd week of September anymore...

Hello, as , these are my climates so I sit and observe. I have also grown freezeland. I had from RGS, Tanska and Bx. Each was different from each other. The best resistance to mold showed the one from Dyr ( Tanska ) I've been using Freezeland from Dyr and Bx this year. It will be interesting to see what comes out of it.
I like the old Canadian strains but find them hard to obtain.

Another west coast winner that I tried was the original Mighty Amstel Freeze (MAF). This is one that I regret not breeding and storing seeds. Crossing the MAF with my selected male Early Bramble would have probably created an awesome early strain for my neck of the woods. The MAF had 2 pheno's, green and pink, I was lucky to get both in the seeds I got. Grew them 1 year and then talked about them every year after that as I couldn't seem to find another source. Interesting to hear the variability between freezeland breeders. Where they all finished by mid-september?

I suppose it was the original version.
It was 2014 or 2015. The seeds came from Growers Choice. A Dutch seed farmer who sold several Canadian varieties in that period.
