500 Gallon Raised Beds in the Foothills 2015

O

Oakhills

That Pink Panther hybrid is HUGE! Mine are a few weeks behind yours, but at 6ft tall I can't complain here. It's good to see the Ancient begin to fill out a bit.

Looking great Stank!!!

Damn, those really 10ft already? Are you by chance including the raised bed height in that math? They're looking awesome! Im just curious. Hope you don't mind me throwing a pic or two here. Here's are a few of my girls just hitting the 8ft mark (without pot)

yeah its crazy..the remesh inner cage is 9.5ft tall. I overlap one row of squares when i double up the cages. the plants are past the 9.5ft of remesh so yeah i would call that 10ft

This is how they thrive during peak reach for the sun. Hopefully your spot maintains enough sunlight through the fall to utilize plants that size. Any thoughts on taking down a few more trees?

Looking good regardless.

they seem to be doing good with 9-10 hours of direct light.. no plans on taking any more trees down. we cut a few down a few in the off season. so much to do on the hill lately, it always feels like we are behind schedule.
farmin aint easy!

When did you crack your seeds?
first week of March

last few days we have been thinning out the inner suckers and it was overdue because i found pm on some of the lower inner leaves. we thinned them out and plucked off any leaves with pm. i mixed up a full strength batch on GreenCure and sprayed them all. so the lesson learned is clean up those inners before issues arise..
and no signs of pm when i checked today :dance013:

At some point you are going to want to gusset the corners of those wooden frames. The constant wet/dry process over a year or two will wiggle those nails out, or split the wood around the screws.

Gusset is when you use another piece of wood (3/8" sheeting in this picture) to cover the corners, and tie the individual pieces of wood together. Also helps to hold in the fasteners (nails, staples, screws).

Amazing job this year, makes me want to go back to full season plants again.

Peace
