...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...
Excessive Heat Watch
The National Weather Service in xxxxxxx has issued an Excessive Heat Watch...which is in effect from Wednesday morning through Thursday evening. * TEMPERATURES...Afternoon high temperatures will climb to between 98 and 109 in the lower elevations and 90 to 98 in the mountains. * TIMING...The hottest times of the day will between 10 AM until 8 PM. There will be little relief from the heat at night with temperatures falling only briefly into the mid 60s to lower 70s by morning both Wednesday and Thursday. Some higher meadows will have brief lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s. The warmest temperatures at night will be along the mid slopes. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and limited relief overnight will increase chances for heat related illness especially for those without access to air conditioning. Heat stress is also possible for livestock and outdoor pets. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... An Excessive Heat Watch means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will be possible. The hot temperatures will create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air- conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Hopefully we'll have our standard period of August rain and cool temps, then back into a decent early fall, but as weird as this last bunch of months' weather has been, I'm not wagering anything on it.
Ferkin cold where I am! it got down to 2C last night. almost too cold for the tomatoes and almost to cold for me but I had to get up this morning cos I needed a pee.
must've hit 84/85 today, went to town for 2 fast stops & back to the a/c comfort of home, 3 stops if you include letting Suzi out @ the beach for a fast romp.......
High seventies here for the last couple days with scattered rain.
Now it's 68 with biblical downpours.
I'm worried it's going to be a moldy mess for the rest of the season.
it's 17F w/a very light wind today, some warmer temps start tomorrow. All the lakes however have a nice skim of ice across 'em, including Winni & Leech, the big lakes have frozen. Ice fishing by the 1st of the year.
snow flurries last 3 days, more coming. i don't care; already been to grocery store & laid in more weed. got enough fire wood for next 2 winters, new tires on jeep. BRING IT ON, MOTHER NATURE!!!
