AFL-CIO Butcher here! For a while, a long time ago.

"I cut meat, motherfucker!" i still have a fondness for knives! here are my two daily carries. i just put the paracord on the Smith and Wesson. it greatly improves the grip. it makes it non-slip. you know how slippery blood can be. both are rapid deploy. the big one with the left hand and the little one with the right. i'm a lefty, cannavore!

just to justify putting them in this thread, these knives are apolitical, and don't give a fuck who is president!

they are accompanied by a 30-year-old Rossi five-round .38 special snubbie.

when i was in the Boy Scouts i got a Merit Badge in fucking up armed robbers.

ya'll have a good 'un!
I'm a retired pilot and my wife is an RN. We never would had the life we did without unions. This crap about unions "neutered" by democrats is pure bullshit. I live in a blue state and nobody gets elected here without being a friend of the union membership.

After giving away TRILLIONS to the rich under Chump these fuckers are now talking about raising the age for social security to 70. They want us to work and pay taxes until we drop. All this nonsense about "neoliberals" is stupid. You don't get to invent your own utopia and tell everyone else how right you are. You pick a side and roll with it, still having the choice of being progressive or regressive.

what (if any) type of sights are you using? nothing on the rail...
Very observant, I took that picture while I was swapping out optics. I ended up being happy with the Sigg Romeo 5 because if it’s ease of use. I had a blue laser on it and I took it off and put it on a different piece… with this gun you just look for the blue dot and pull the trigger

can you adjust the size/focus the blue dot? be neat to have one like some flashlights i've seen. floodlight to laser with a simple twist.
No, this is a cheap laser that just puts the blue Dot on whatever I pointed at… The gun with the laser sits by the side of the recliner that I sit in on my back porch. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the guns, but the dogs inside the house. When I open up that door over 200 pounds goes flying off the deck looking for something to chew… It would be nice to have a laser that you can focus and change the size of the beam but for 40 bucks you get what you pay for, a Chinese laser…

i think i'll put lasers on my knives! i'm in the middle of moving into our new house out in the country and i think the trusty old .38 doesn't have the range i might need as i'm surrounded by 20 acres of open land.

but i don't need anything with really long range either so i'm thinking about a shotgun. since i won't be hunting i just need a defensive weapon. Mossberg makes an inexpensive pump action defensive model known as the Maverick 88. it's been around for a while and is known for reliability. police and military use them a lot.

it has a 20" barrel with a long tube magazine that will hold 8 2 3/4" shells with one more in the chamber.

in recent years they have come out with what are termed "mini-shells". these are 1 3/4" so using these you can get 12 in the tube plus one in the chamber. they utilize a lighter lead load and have much less recoil. in fact, very light recoil.

they make a slug shell that has a 7/8 oz slug and a buckshot shell that has a 5/8 oz load.

the 5/8 oz load is strictly designed for defense against humans. it contains 4 #1 buckshot and 7 #4 buckshot. #1 shot is .30 caliber and #4 shot is .24 caliber. the total weight in grains is 273 grains. it does 1200 fps out of the 20" barrel giving it approx 873 ft lbs of energy. or well over twice the energy of a 9mm with a lot more damage.

here is a short YouTube video on the combination. this guy sounds like a dumb old redneck hillbilly but don't let that fool you. his mind is full of ballistic physics. he's been doing these gun videos for 9-10 years and has hundreds of them on just about any gun or ammo you can imagine.

he is one of the finest shots i've ever seen, especially with pistols. he owns hundreds of guns and this is the one he keeps next to the bed loaded with the mini-shells. if he trusts it all that much so do i.

the shotgun is under $300 because it is a stripped-down, no-frills utility gun.

You're way off. Biden and Bernie are both strong pro union. You were a Bernie supporter, no idea were you got off track. There is no distinction between union leadership and membership. I am a Teamster.
Union workers supported Bernie
Union leadership supported Biden

Big difference because the leadership is likely partnered with the Democratic leadership in some way. Acting as a gatekeeper to real labor reform.

Neoliberal support for unions is window dressing. The policies the Democrats enact say otherwise. Globalization, free trade, and neoliberal economics have hollowed out what unions used to be. membership is in decades long decline.

Bullshit! I was a union worker. Sweeping generalizations sound good but it's just not true.
what exactly is bullshit here?

"When trying to identify the causes behind trends such as the disappearance of manufacturing jobs, the rise in income inequality, and the decline in wages in the United States, NAFTA and growing trade deficits only provide part of the picture. Other major contributors include deregulation and privatization, declining rates of unionization, sustained high levels of unemployment, and technological change. While each of these factors has played some role, a large body of economic research has concluded that trade is responsible for at least 15% to 25% of the growth in wage inequality in the United States (U.S. Trade Deficit Review Commission 2000, 110-18). In addition, trade also has indirect effects on wage inequality by contributing to many of these other causes. For example, the decline of the manufacturing sector attributable to increased globalization has resulted in a reduction in unionization rates, since unions represent a larger share of the workforce in this sector than in other sectors of the economy."

The high price of ‘free’ trade

NAFTA’s failure has cost the United States jobs across the nation

Mediated is more like it. Killed is a huge exaggeration. Workers got a 14% wage increase and 24% salary increase over five years, plus one day of paid leave per year.
He made the strike illegal and gave them crumbs of what they were asking for. They wanted a month of paid leave and motherfucker gave em a day lmfao.

Why ‘Union Joe’ Chose to Make it Illegal for Rail Workers to Strike

Bullshit again. It was blocked by republicans every time. Look at the work put in by Sanders AOC and company. Dems can't get it done alone.
??? you're really delusional if you think the Democratic party as it currently exists would ever support M4A. they get paid NOT to support it lmao. They rigged the outcome against Bernie to stop this from happening.

Who gives the big tax breaks to the rich?
both parties because they are agents of oligarchy lol. didn't joe keep trump's tax cuts in play? do the democrats not participate in austerity style budget cuts? ie - cutting education and other services to give to rich people and cops? that's what the NY neolibs are doing right now.

Why is gerrymandering prominent?
because corruption is the law of the land and they have to keep things tight to not break up this phony duopoly.

And who loses most of the time in popular vote?
wow big feat lol BARELY beating a bunch of inbreds. it shouldn't be remotely close.

It's the few doing everything they can to control the many.
this includes neolibs as they are part of this oligarchy

Bullshit. It is a constant battle over who will pay. Dems try to push it back on the rich while republicans torture working people. Regan started the tax on social security. Trump even wanted to cut the IRS so that people with accountants and lawyer could get get away with more.
Dems do the least amount possible and then blow it up with PR acting as if it's some great achievement. it's almost always some watered down policy they deploy. You will never see a neolib dem running for office support a top marginal tax rate of over 50%

The GOP is nothing more than a bunch of weak dick weasels supporting a wannabe fascist dictator because nobody has the balls to step out of line. You supported Bernie, one of the most consummate democrats, but now your definition of the Democratic Party has twisted off into something that doesn't fit.
They were always fascist regardless of Trump.

If it came down to Bernie vs Trump, many of the corporate neolib democrats would probably side with Trump. Hell, more HRC voters voted for Romney over Obama than Bernie voters not voting or voting for someone other than HRC.

Man just a couple years ago it was "bernies not a democrat loL!" now he's a consummate dem lmfao. Bernie had his balls removed after 2016. He was always the compromise candidate.

He was a compromise on policies. Socialists and leftists will vote for a social democrat like Bernie knowing he isn't a socialist but also knowing he isn't a neoliberal. Social democrats like Bernie are the true center/moderates between capitalism and socialism.

For me as a voter it's all about the policies, and the democrats are not aligned with where I am, nor are they with most people and they never will be because they are aligned with capital and oligarchy.

They know Bernie is popular still even with his fuckups as of late which is why they've filled the progressive caucus with neolib plants pretending to be socdems so they can take over the progressives and sheepherd them back into the dem party. It's no different than all the republicans over the years pretending to be Trump to try and ride his wave of popularity.

He was a compromise on policies.
what policies Bernie might have preferred are irrelevant. if elected in 2016, he would have been nothing more or less than a warm body in the office (a placeholder) while we tried to find some real (read-"better") candidates. neither house nor senate would have gone along with his ideas. sometimes , a "do-nothing " congress is just what the situation demands. "do something, even if it is wrong" is a horrible idea, and we prove it regularly.

All Congress does is make new laws. heaping them on top of old laws until we have a big, stinking, shit pile of laws that make compliance more and more difficult. from the standpoint of small business, it is a strangler of success. laws are so many and so complex that you have to hire a "compliance" officer just to make sure you don't run afoul of them.

i wish they would spend a session once in a while to eliminate old, outdated laws.
