The electoral college should be done away with. According to constitution precursor documents, their job was not to only confirm state votes but to evaluate the suitability of the individual to become president. I have never seen any evidence of this duty carried out.

Crazy how things are going. If you believe in the polls Harris has caught up with and passed trump in some of them. Those are the same polls that had Biden down by as much as six points and Harris even farther in a hypothetical matchup. Once Harris became the nominee any lead trump had evaporated.
You can really see the right is in a state of panic. Between the old felon and that horrible VP choice I don't see a path for them to win. They're just crazy with some of the things they're saying.
Elected officials should have children because if they don't they have no stake in anything. Wrong! Elected officials should be the people that were elected by the voters. Parenthood requirement is ridiculous.
If you have children then your vote should carry more weight. Wrong again. Each vote is equal.
Harris is a DEI hire. If that's true then they need to look in the mirror. ben carson, clarence thomas, nikki haley, were they DEI hires?
They have nothing so they're going nasty as well. A coordinated effort to call Harris garbage and other derogatory names. They'll keep it up and they'll lose more voters. They're going to go harder than ever at voter suppression as that's the only tactic they have that might yield results.
Behind the scenes the right is looking at every option to try and steal an election they can't win.
It's also looking likely that the Democrats will retake the House and hold the Senate in November. It's not a sure thing but I'm optimistic about their chances.

The only thing that matters about California now is that Harris is going to take that state with the most electoral votes in the nation. 54 smackaroos in her column. That's 1/5th of the way to 270.
trump made this election about age and now he's the old man vs a 59 year old woman that could run a five mile marathon. The right keeps saying she's not qualified but she's a hell of a lot more qualified than trump. She was a prosecutor, and then Attorney General of the most populous state in the country, followed by being elected as Senator and serving in Congress. She was elected to those positions so she's won some elections. This isn't her first rodeo.
At first I bought into some of the stuff being said about her but the more I look into it the more I realize that there's a lot more to that package than what the right is trying to portray and that's why they're in panic mode right now.
One looks serious and the other looks like a used car salesman. America already fired trump. We're not hiring him back.

The current economic system isn’t capitalism, it’s an oligarchy.
Just think how affordable medicine would be if there were no patents on it. That’s capitalism, free and open markets.
Any time you see corporate subsidies, monopolies, and price fixing, you’re not seeing capitalism. Those things are antithetical to free markets.
It seems to me that 90 percent of the “lefts” arguments against capitalism are straw man arguments.
As for communism and socialism. If you expect others to socialize their property in all or part, but want to retain ownership of your property you aren’t a socialist. You’re just a bitter totalitarian.

I live in an area where manufacturing was what they did here forever. Now with all the offshoring and labor wage stagnation it’s a fentanyl death camp.
I don’t know what happened but the dems don’t even care enough to lie to these folks. They pretend they don’t exist after calling them all deplorable for a vote.
