Funny thing is if communism is so terrible, then why is the West so afraid of it? It seems like a terrible form of government/economics would not be popular and would not spread like wildfire across the planet.
You know who would be scared of it...industrialists & enterprise as it threatens their ability to exploit the many for their personal gain. Who do industrialists and corporations have control over??? The government! And what does the government want you to fear??? Communism!
I don't claim to know much as I have not read the book but my view is communism is an idea. It probably isn't perfect and capitalism clearly isn't either. What I don't like is censorship of ideas in general. I can decide for myself if something is evil or not and I am free to explore any fucking ideas I want in a free society.
So for all the people that are so against the very idea of communism, they should ask themselves why it is they feel that way? Did they come to that conclusion of their own or were they convinced through a propaganda campaign? And I fully well know there were many a bloody communist campaigns that did not benefit in the end the common citizen, it is flawed communism and perhaps the whole idea is very unrealistic in its practice vs human nature. That said, anytime a group tries to obtain or does obtain power it is typically violent, I do not know of any transfers of power/government that were done peacefully?
