our form of government is a "constitutional democratic republic". it is not perfect and relies on direction from the voting public. i don't like either party right now but i feel it is my duty as a citizen to at least try to help change things for the better.

and i love george carlin, he was correct on most issues. i agree that corporations have a stranglehold on the american government. but they have a stranglehold on most modern countries too. such as germany's government. you seem to be advocating that we don't vote at all and i say that voting minimizes damage and helps to incrementally steer the country in the right direction.

here is an interesting view of the assassination attempt showing that the 8 bullets fired by crooks hit people before and after the podium. all sharing the same approximate trajectory. the firemen who was killed was before trump in the line of sight of the shooter and the two wounded victims were after trump in the same line of sight.

the audio recordings show 8 smaller caliber rounds were fired in just under 6 seconds followed immediately by two larger rounds from the counter snipers.

also, fbi director wray testified before congress and said that they still don't know if trump was hit by a bullet or shrapnel from another object struck by a bullet.

which means that some objects were struck close to trump. if there were no objects struck to produce shrapnel they would be automatically left with only a bullet as the cause of trump's injury.

either way, he's lucky that the kid was a lousy shot. someone mentioned earlier in the thread that the 5.56 round is accurate out to 500 yards. this assumes the weapon is an accurate, high-quality one in the hands of a skilled markman. in this case, the gun used was some cheap piece of shit fired by an apparently crosseyed kid.

yes, one killed and two others wounded. on both sides of trump. the older man who was wounded may not make it. he's struggling for his life in intensive care.

no confirmation of what object may have been hit. there were 8 rounds fired and three people confirmed hit by gunfire. even if we count an additional round as having hit trump, we still have 4 rounds unaccounted for. as director wray said on wednesday, the fbi still doesn't know for sure what caused trump's wound. he wouldn't have made such a statement if there were not more possibilites than a bullet.

something was hit, but they are not saying what yet.

a teleprompter is built with sandwich layers like an auto windshield. it is possible that a bullet passed through and just punched a hole. creating shrapnel but not blowing the teleprompter apart. it could have been from a water glass, we just don't know yet.

looking at brandon hererra's test i posted above, the ear on the dummy is made of ballistic gel, which is used as an analog for human flesh. both shots, one just a grazing shot and one piercing the middle of the ear, show substantial damage.

you saw a cheap rifle with a non-magnifying optic such as the shooter used. it is not a precision instrument. the red dot was so large that it completely covered the test head at 130 yards. so there is no way that the event was staged by trump, et al. that rifle and optic were not capable of that type of precision.. so, i think brandon debunked that theory.

also, the reaction of the test head pretty well demonstrates that if he was hit by a bullet, it was the most superficial touch imaginable. so, brandon's test cast some doubt that a bullet caused the damage to trump's ear.

the high speed camera is a $30k instrument and the counter sniper rifle is a $15k instrument. that complete ballistic test head had to cost over $1k by itself. so, it was a pretty good good test.

another thing, before someone says the tester was biased against trump, all those guys are staunch 2nd amendment supporters and vote republican no matter what. they think the democrats will make assault style weapons illegal again. i think they are probably right. but really, a lawn mower is still a lawnmower, no matter how refined or high tech it is.

any hunter knows that a bolt action hunting rifle with a quality optic on it could have hit the target dead center with one shot. you can buy that setup at your local sporting goods store.
