Silver Mountain. This is in the bottom three in health. Recognized the N deficiency later than the rest, and harder to pull out.

What's left of my soil mix. Have about 20 yards of material total. Going to start mixing it, and getting it ready for the worms. I have a 800 gallon ready to fill, and a pit run that needs to be finished.

picture.php

All layered, and ready for a mix.

Some rice hulls for aeration and when it breaks down, some potassium silicate.

Might be time for retirement.....My wife was thinking she could use this for our daughter.....lol. I bought a new one for her and the dogs.

Just another day I am blessed to be alive, and able to tend such a beautiful garden. Sometimes I wish I had help. However riding solo there is only one person to blame when things go wrong. This will most likely be the last update for some plants, as they are getting harder and harder to picture. Soil tests, tissue tests, water tests, will be discussed soon. You guys see how the plants look in picture, now lets see what they look like on paper. Until next time.

I forgot about this pic. Cindy Males. Already harvested one, and is in the trash. These two are crazy stinky. One is dead on pre16' pineapple Cindy. The other is rotten baby diaper funk. Never had a male stink as bad as either of these. They are pretty good yielders for being outside then brought under t-5's.

That's quite the update. Looking good around here.

"Welcome back"

Thanks! Been working hard over here, trying to dial things in and record everything possible. :tiphat:

Damn dude. Your shit looks great. Sometimes this forum hurts my morale LOL. But usually it's just inspiration. Awesome job!

Thanks! This forum often hurts my moral, for many different reasons. I guess I am just a gluten for punishment. Your garden is one of the best on the boards, no doubt. The main thing I tell myself every year is get a great start, and never look back. If you look at guys like BYF or that Elvis guy on IG, they are veg masters. If you veg right, test everything before flower, then the rest is set up like dominoes. I am not saying I am there by any means, I could list 5,000 things I have done wrong. However I record my mistakes, test as mush as possible, and hope to be able to repeat and improve the next year. Sucks it takes 365 days to start again. However, that is what makes this a challenge.

Oh Snap! Anybody realize when the Full Corn and Hunters moon is this year? Sept 16th and Oct 15th. Been a while since the full moon was smack in the middle of harvest time. Hope my Cindy's are ready by Sept 16th, and Oct 15th is going to be a crazy night!

The reason I looked it up, is some people are saying they are flowering already. I believe the moon cycles have something to do with flower trigger as well. The last full moon, the Buck Moon, I believe can trigger flower depending on many factors. Just food for thought, something to trip off during your next joint.

As expected everything looks great, Welcome back!
One of the best things (in my opinion) about these outdoor threads are when problems or mistakes are made. We all share opinions and experiences, results are we all learn and improve our skills.
I'm still waiting for that SSDD to send a few branches through the top vent of the greenhouse.
At some point I would like to talk about the process of growing your worms in grow bags. Lots of info on worm farming, but I've seen nothing on doing it in 200 gal grow pots.

Thanks for the kind words brother.

The AOG and the SSDD are competing for the monsters on the block. It's all about the flowers, so time will tell. My buddy is coming over tomorrow afternoon and talking cuts of every plant except the light dep. So if either strain produces nice flowers, they are keepers for sure. I know the AOG will produce some 25% + nugs if everything goes well.

Problems and mistakes.....Yea, been having those. It's amazing the effort it takes to grow one monster plant, let alone more than a couple. Wouldn't have it any other way, I'm grateful.

Any time you want to chat worms, lets chat. I will have to look back, but I already gave some advice. Pm or this thread works for me. Anything goes here, especially conversations about WORMS!!! I love em.

So I wanted to show people how I think roots should look during a transplant. Many people are proud to have white roots wrapping around the soil base. This is how many people have done it, for many many years.

However I like using smart pots, which air prune your roots. Instead of twisting and wrapping around the bottom of a pot, and then after transplant, branching out from the twisted wrap. The air pruning takes a root tip, dries it out, and promotes side growth from the same root. This causes a root ball that is fine, dense, and not wrapping around it self.

After an entire season, I can pull up a plant that was started in a plastic pot and still clearly see the wrapping roots. A smart pot after a full season doesn't look unnatural at all. Looks like it was planted there.

For example. This is a 15 gallon smart pot, with a 4'+ tall plant. If this was a plastic pot, there would be wrapping for sure. This plant has been in this pot for at least a month.

These are pictures from three different plants a couple of days after harvest. We have been discussing over watering on the forum, and here is some root pics as data against over watering IMO. However I would love others to chime in. These root balls are from 5 ft tall light dep plants harvested this week. I had to yank these out of the raised beds also, so more roots in the beds.

Last root ball I gave a shake.

Staying on the subject of over watering: This bed is the lowest watering soil on the property. It was light dep, and didn't have giant plants. It has since been upgraded with a new higher output sprinkler line, to up the water amount. Yes, I said up. I keep seeing evidence that I am not over watering. Let me show.

Worms right on water lines
picture.php

Wet enough for worms at the bottom of where I ripped out the old root balls.
picture.php

After digging down for my new 15 gallon transplant. You can see where the water drips from the lines..... Not much saturation, IMO.
picture.php

So I know this doesn't translate to every pot on the property, but it does show the demand cannabis plants, cover crops, low humidity and high temps can have on eating up water. I water twice a day, and on Monday's I drench with a feed or tea. If it wasn't for the drench once a week, I think I would have problems.

What do you guys think? Over watering, Under watering, just fine?

Also, I don't think my microlife is having issues. Every shovel I had 20 worms. However to be fair, this is my oldest soil, with organic N levels at 70ppm. Which is a little high. Compared to my Gator soil which only had 16ppms or something crazy low.

Wonder how hot is was in the greenhouse when I was working......

Finished product of my Cindy transplants. These seeds were started at the same time as the bed with the pvc hoops behind it. Those plants replaced the deps a good month earlier. So instead of a final bed, the plants in the foreground got a 15 gallon smart pot to hold them over. You can see a huge difference in size.
