Yea, I will post up once the ban ends. Should be Saturday. Plants are yuge. I might take some Screw type shots and pose with my shirt off.

Belly tucked in the pants, or let it hang over?

I decided to take a week off of folair and fertigating. The plants seem to be humming along, plant sap 6.2-6.6, brix averages around 16. When I took my soil samples, I also did an EC test, and it read .7. Right where I like to be when I am pushing things in high temps. I have a hard time getting an EC reading with my massive cover crops, but since I was digging around anyway.......

My cover crops seem to maintain a lower brix for some reason. I am sure that is a sign of something.

So, got my soil results back. Lets analyze this........

I only did a saturated paste test on my new soil mix.

Crap, still can't edit with this avatar or whatever.

I know the top has been cut off, but that was only the farm name. All samples were taken at 6".

opps. The saturated paste test is Gator mix.

normal soil tests go from left to right: Eden, Meso, Gator.

Eden is 3 seasons old, soilless peat based mix.

Meso is native soil mixed with EWC and pumic.

Gator is a new mix, made from local materials. Peat based.

:biglaugh:

Funny story: I was showing my girlfriend pictures of Schrews plants from last year and she says "who cares about the plants, who is that guy with his shirt off" I told her he was gay and not to worry about it.

What's wrong with the sat paste? I was going to get one. On one hand it makes sense to see what's available to the plant in the soil solution, rather than using a strong acid to extract... but saturated paste also ignores the whole root-soil interaction.

Michael Astera says it's a waste. People on the boards say it's a waste. The paste test I got does not reflect my grow. I don't know, seems off.

So here is a break down. left to right

Eden: Too much Mg and phosphorous. Done for the season

Need to raise: Sodium, Mn, Co, Mo, Cu and Se

Mesopotamia: Excess Mg, P. Done for season

Need to raise: K, Na, S, Mn, Cu, Co, Mo, Se

Gator Mix

Excess: Mg, P. Done for season

Raise Mn significantly.

Raise Ca, Na, S, Fe, Cu, Co, Mo and Se

I noticed my Boron creeping pretty high in my Eden mix. I started going though my fertilizers and my Ca supply also has a % of boron.....That explains that. Then I went back in my e-mails and realized Lead warned me of this........

Guess I needed to make that mistake on my own.

If you are seeing toxicity of boron, just add more calcium.

Found a set of Kempf numbers, he aims at 3ppm of boron! There are many crops that won't like that level!

Great. They are in the greenhouse, so hard to compare. But all my plants seem very healthy. They are also the last to show the leaf crinkle thing. Gator mix first.
