Its unfortunate but they where clean breaks and I have no intention of rooting the branches. Ill just let it do its thing. The rest of my plants are fine and healthy anyway.

edit: Ill join the group when I get up to the 50 post limit. Looking forward to hearing about the competition.

Interesting article I stumbled across on the net today, anyone ever tryed it on MJ plants?

Milk is a useful fungicide in the garden, and is more effective than standard chemical brands.
Researchers believe the potassium phosphate in milk boosts a plant's immune system to fight the fungi.
Where most organic gardeners use a baking soda, soap and oil solution, milk may be substituted to combat the unwanted fungus.
Preparing a Milk Solution and Spraying Schedule
The correct dilution and spraying schedule for garden plants depends on the situation and takes some trial and error.
A milk fungicide solution can range from 1 part milk to 9 parts water, to a strong, milk-only solution. A 1:1 dilution may work for a week, but a 1:8 solution requires spraying every 3 or 4 days.
Skim milk may work better than whole milk, as the higher fat milk may clog a sprayer; even reconstituted powdered milk works.
Uses for Milk Fungicide
Milk was originally used in the garden to treat powdery mildew on squash plants. It is now also commonly used on flowers such as rudebekia (Black-eyed Susans) and Begonias to cure powdery mildew.
Milk has also been used to cure Botrytis on a Cyclamen houseplant. This was applied full strength every morning (leftover breakfast milk). Rotten leaves were picked away and the plant pulled through with no more Botrytis.
Black spots and rust on roses can be controlled but not cured with milk. Fortunately, milk can prevent the spread of these fungi to other plants and new leaves. This can be very useful when bringing home a plant from the nursery and finding a black spot.

God forbid the same thing happens around flowering time Grizzly you'll want to have some anti fungal solution on hand to treat the wound.

I lost a few branches on my hollands hope last year due to storm damage
The plant healed nicely but the damage was done and a few days later grey mould started to attack the damaged areas.
Was a real shame to chop it down early when it was only the main stem was affected but the pores were there and I decided to take the hit and hash it.

I'd start gradually and work up Tonto, cant remember the site but I think it was an organic growers site but I do remember reading that young plants can be sensitive to it.

I'll try n find a link when I get to work tomorrow and go through the search history.

Anyone here ever successfully grown a sativa strain on our lovely island. Am up north and scored some savage ugandan bush about 6 months ago. Really powerful uplifting high. Had me runnin about like a lunatic...Threw loads of the seeds into soil and couldnt believe it when i came back. Had a mini forest. That was about 3 months ago and the ladies are just bangin now. What kind of a flowering period am i lookin at.... Its a guerrilla grow so dont have the luxury of 12/12in them...Cheers lads...

1 month 4 days over schedule but iv finally got all my plants in
:party::party::party::party:

iv rolled a celebratory blunt and found a ball of last years hash :woohoo:

The plants are looking good, still small but perking up, unfortunately im down to 3 typhoons now, i wasnt able to keep up with the transplanting and their nute hungry appetite, next grow they will get the attention they need, if you want monsters id say typhoon with some early tlc could deliver.

the afghan nigerians are looking great:laughing: probably not a chance of finishing though.

plants are getting fish, nettle, kelp, shit(s) and blood bone, nutes, teas and foliage misting's, im hoping it'll make up for the slow start.

enjoy

Thats great news Tonto, with nearly 1.5 months growing time left and all this great weather they will rocket up once the roots start to spread out :)

August n September are predicted to be dry with good amounts of sun so hopefully the Afghan x's will pull through for you.

About 2 wks earlier than now from seed , raised in GH with no artificial lighting & they still finished . Just expect smaller plants coz of the short veg time . It would be an advantage if you could bring them up under lights for a while . Was this your plan or were you thinking of raising them under natrual light from seed ?

Still no sign of any rain here , the lawns gone weetabix & my forecast is at least another week of nothing but sunshine/high temps .

Stay green .

Going to be under natual light MJB, harvested all my bush beans so I've some spare room in the plastic greenhouse.
Indoors is full up but it might be no harm to rig up a few of the spare eco lights in the greenhouse and add a few extra hours per day.
What sort of yield did you get?, 1/2-oz mark would keep me happy.

Very little rain over here too, bloody high winds tho I had to run out this morning and stake all the plants.

I honestly don`t know what they yielded , a bit more than 1/2 though . They were a heavy yielding Indica x with a lot of bud very close to the main stem . No doubt the location is important , i`m pretty much south whereas further N the days would be just that bit shorter . As an indoor grower you know that there are different veg times on a lot of different strains & i suppose some plants will do better than others with a shorter veg .
In all the years iv`e grown MJ i have never actually weighed the dried bud from any 1 of my plants , usually a bit is tried then another bit is smoked just to confirm etc etc . I just like to see a doz or more storage jars full of bud going through the cure !!!!!!

Stay green .

I like the new avitar :)

Sure even 1/4 oz would be worth while to me even if it's airy buds for the trim pile.

MJB do you know anything about treating soil for botrytis spores?

 ripped some males and found that those coco pots are still holding the roots in and restricting growth, so i spent the day stabbing around the base's hoping to help break up the coco pots on the rest of the plants.
