Ah thats probably the description for the strain grown under perfect conditions indoors, outdoors over here I'd imagine it will take longer.

Personally I wait until preflowers are showing before taking cuttings, saves time and energy and keeps the numbers low.

Wow banana skin method for feminising seeds works. So far my top skunk 44 my biggest mazar one my ruderalis skunk and my lebanese red have all shown female preflowers from non feminised seeds and my lowryder was female :) 5/5 female rate so far (green o matic was feminised).I wish i had a better camera I have a 15 mp digital camera but it broke :(

Hugh even if your still on 24/0 you will still get preflowers with white hairs, it just means the plant is mature.

All my outdoor lot had male and female preflowers by week 7 from seed, 2 of the strains had them by week 5.

Lighting hits 12/12 near the start of October but your outdoor plants will start to flower before that, mid to late August for some of the early strains and late August/September for the not so early flowering strains.

Things are going great in cookies veg/weed plot, peas, spuds, carrots, beetroot, beans n tomatoes are all ready to harvest.
Delicious organic homegrown fruit n veg full of sweetness and flavour make a mockery of the garbage they sell in the shops :)

Here's a few pics of the plants well bushes really, this years gonna be the year I finally pull in a deacent outdoor harvest.

Here's an odd fan leaf from one of the rejects

The good news for you guys who brave the elements and grow outside is there will be a competion in the very near future for Irish outdoor growers.

Stay tuned for details once everythings sorted out.

Stay safe n happy all

Them plants are looking good Cookie , we grow a lot of veg here to coz the shite in shops is tasteless , i hate buying tomatoes with no flavour & this year are trying some old varieties The Amatuer & Chadwick . Look for a seed company www.chilternseeds.co.uk
got a lot of unusual seed especially veg unfortunately no MJ .

You got some rain coming this week , Mon , Wed & Thurs i think , here it`s steaming with no prospect of rain for another week . Gonna be hard work .

Stay green .

Yeah there's a huge cloud bank heading our way, downpours forcast a few days this week but it's badly needed.
Past 2 weeks I've had to spend 2 hours every day watering my own crops and my grandfathers massive veg garden n greenhouses...it's indeed hard work but he's 91 and not really able to lift a watering can so he's now the supervisor :)

A really nice variety of tomatoe I stumbled upon this year is Tumbeling Tom, there a hanging basket tomatoe but planted in large pots they do amazingly well, I've 13 in the conservatory and the best plant has damm near 100 toms on it.

The other side of the plant has the same amount of fruit on it, perfect variety for those like myself with limited space indoors.
Beautiful yellow/orange fruit and an explosion of sweetness n flavour when munched :)

Thank you for the link I had a quick peek and will be placing a few orders in the spring.

Stay safe n happy

Edit: for anyone intereseted I've started an Irish growers social group if you grow outdoors why not join up and share your experiences and opinions of strains that may or may not do well.

If we work togeter we just might be able to add a few new shades of green our country is famous for, 40 shades of green and none of them are cannabis :(.....lets make it 50:)

1 of my grandfathers was Irish , so seeing as i`m part Paddy & i love guiness does that count ? .
The missus is growing Tumbler toms but i`m not sure what she has , all beginning to flower . I grew some yellow cherry toms 1 year & she said they were too sweet ( & shes a bloody vegitarian ! )

Can i have some of your rain ? please .

Stay green .

The rain here snapped the lower branches on an lst'd typhoon. Its in a bad way but my other female typhoon is fine and looking strong.

I cant see how I can join the group. Do I need to have a certain post count?

Any word on the specificcs of this competition?

Sorry to hear that Grizzly, if it's a clean break there's not much you can do but if it's still attached try some elasticated bandages and support the weight of the branch and it may heal over time.
Must be a post count thing with the outdoor group I'll ask Admin if it can be disabled.
MJB of course you can enter, if ya like guinness your cool with me :)

I'm just waiting on word back about the competition before I post off seeds.

Edit: grizzly you'll need 50 posts disabling the post count thingy will cause problems .

Like Cookie said support the weight with a cane & string if it`s still attached then i`d personally wrap it with electrical tape as like elasicated bandage it will stretch .
When you know for definate you have females it`s always worth having a jar of willow water in the fridge , it will keep for a month . If you dip any length of branch support it with a cane & pot it in a decent seedling compost & put it somewhere shady 9 times out of 10 it will root . People under estimate the rooting power of willow water .
Another method i have sometimes used is Air or Chinese layering & believe it or not it can be done on flowering branches . How it came about was a sativa strain i had growing nearly 8ft tall but it was late with a heavy flower on it & a prolonged wet autumn was expected so i thought how to keep it & flower it off . It was too big to fit into my cold g house but i had an idea . I have done a lot of air layering with my Bonsai stock & realised I could fit 20+ 2 to 3ft plants into the g house so air layered the entire plant & when rooted put them all into 10ltr pots with some very light compost , had 17 survive & collected some really nice bud .

Stay green .
