Hi tonto , yarrow & chamomile make good flower ferts , use whole plants .
i`m using mollasses & organic tom feed but next year will have a comfrey bed to use . Apparently Bracken fern can be used as a flower fert made just like a stinging nettle tea but i`m not having a lot of success finding the info on the web i need . ie P K ratio/strength . You can also add a bonemeal tea , takes a few weeks to prepare though as you need 2-3in of powder in a container (i use 4pt milk poly) fill with water & shake a few times daily , eventually you`ll have a thick creamy sludge in bottom of bottle . Just add a good slug or 100ml to a 2Gal watering can .

Stay green .

wouldnt add bracken at all, probably done enough damage health wise all ready.

http://oregonbd.org/Class/accum.htm

found this in the nettle tea thread, pretty mind blowing when you think of the possibilities, going to be using a fait amount of diy teas this year for flowering.

for silica, oat straw is looking pretty good, some one in another thread also mentioned bamboo leaves are high in silica, bean racking my head trying to think of where a close bamboo plant is though:thinking:

thanks for the bone meal tip, iv bean way under strengh.

tonto , using it the way i do still works out at roughly 1/90 for a 9lt watering can . I used to use it just once a month with nettle tea every week but this year i`m gonna try on a selected few plants using it every 3wk & i only water around 1/2
lt on each plant . Where iv`e been using it once a month the results are generally good .Using it as i do i only give the plants Bone tea 5 times during the entire season including vegging time & flower . I may increase that if this 3wk feed works out .

Yes , once the flowers seem set in growth & you think theres very few more to come then switch to flower feed . A little extra veg time will do no harm as the plant needs good growth , this will support the formation of flower then the plants demands benefit from extra P K to fatten & feed the buds up .

wouldnt add bracken at all, probably done enough damage health wise all ready

please explain . The link you put up shows Bracken in a good light on P K .

Bracken Area= Higher cancer rates, cant avoid the spores but i wouldn't actively start adding this to my plants, even though its a pissing in the wind effort lol.

Plus anyone know how to deal with powdery mildew, I tried the milk spray on a honeysuckle and seems to help, but don't fancy spraying me ganja with it.

Well my neighbor cut the lowryder and crammed it into a box so now its all moldy. I have no scales but i threw out maybe 7 grams got maybe 6 grams that isnt too moldy and made about 2 grams of hash and a little bho.
The smoke is very weak but the trichs were still clear and i microwave dried it.
Im hoping for better results from my green-o-matic which still has a week or two to go.

Looking healthy and bushy Hugh, good news about the pre-flowers :)
It's usually the males that show first for me so finger crossed the unknowns show pistils soon.

Flowering time can be any time from about now to september depending on strain, hopefully somebody who's grown them before can give you a more accurite answer.

Things are going well in my garden, bug and mould spraying seem to be working so far.
The 2 that are floweing are doing well dispite the rainy overcast weather, I'm praying august has better weather in store.

A few pics

Nice buds cookie .What strain is that???
My leaves are getting eaten recently is there any way of getting rid of snails and caterpillars without spraying a load of chemicals on my plant??
Also i was wondering if i should change my nutes for flowering or if i should use mollases or something.
