2007 Oregon Guerrilla Outdoor, with BACKCOUNTRY

BC, Have you been following Butte's grow lately. He is really disappointed, but to me I Would have been really happy. He has huge expectations. He was sort of complaining about some of his Mendo Purple going to bud too fast, but from the photos it looks about the same as your early plant that is going to bud. Maybe you should talk to him about that. He has several strains. I do not believe you can expect the same results from different strains with everything else all being the same. I told you that I tried to grow a species of grape up here, about 150 miles north of their origin and they died. I have other kinds of grapes that are unbelieveable.
Well it is mid August now. I would hope to see some really exciting photos in the coming weeks. I wish all peace and happiness, low stress in the weeks to come.

Sharky, rusto, rockmy79, good to see you, and thankyou!

magoo420- Nice! Do you have a grow thread?

newRandude- I stopped in to check the Babbas grow, and noticed her also taking about the early blooming, she seems to think the cooler nights we are having here on the Pacific coast may be encouraging earlier blooming. I have also had the same experience this July/August with the cool nights, I believe the Babbas, Butte, and myself all live with in a few hundred miles of each other. Not long after I posted there, Butte also posted with his experiences, so he seems to be on the same page with us.

I'm not totally convinced that it is the reason for the earlier bloom, but it seems plausable for me considering the bloom is only a week or too earlier.

And now it is time for a update!

I got out to water the 3 smaller plots today, the temps are staying pretty mild this August, I would venture to say we may have had more 90F+ days in May, with lows dipping into the 50s most nights. I'm used to sweating in my bed all night in August, but insted I wake up to mornings that remind me of late September.
Besides being easy on me, the cooler weather also keeps my plants water demands more reasonable.
This cooler weather is making my plants thrive, especially since I have not slowed the flow of water getting to them, I also like to bank against that odd week where I might not make it to them in over a week or so.

I've started hitting them each week with Miracle grow 15-30-15 Bloom booster-

I liked this pic, sunwash and all! You can my old dog in the lower part of the pic, its so hard to get her out of the shade on this particular hill.
77108-14-07_HM_1_C99_x_OR95_bud_macro.jpg

Here is a macro of the bud progress on HM#1(C99xOR95), the bud is starting to get kinda fragrant, the smell reminds me of summers past.....

HM#2-
77108-14-07_HM_2_.jpg

This plant is doing well, she has a reliable source of water nearby, so she gets lots of water, and she seems to love it.

I also visited HM#4, everything looked well there.

I thought I would share a few of my favorite pics from my family trip to Crater lake this summer-

We decided to drive to the National park by following the North Umpqua river, its a beautiful and famous Fly fishing river, and also has a number of lakes and waterfalls to visit along it.

Along the North Umpqua, we stopped at Toketee falls, very nice-
7710Toketee_falls.jpg

Toketee sounds funny to a stoner don't it? LOL!
In the Chinook jargon, Toketee means "pretty", and I would agree!
Chinook jargon was a trading language, used by Trappers, traders, explorers, and many native american tribes, it was a combonation of words from French, English, and Chinook indian languages. It was used mostly in the Pacific North-west.

And here is Crater lake-
7710Crater_lake_and_Mount_Thielsen_1.jpg

This picture shows the north end of the lake, the peak in the distance is Mount Thielsen, the tallest peak in this part of the Cascade mountains.

7710Crater_lake_and_Wizard_island.jpg

This picture shows Wizard island, a old lava cone rising from the lakes bottom.

For those who are not familier with Crater lake-
Crater lake is perhaps the most reconizable land mark in South-West Oregon(check the state quarter), if not the entire state. It is the deepest lake in the United States, the second deepest lake in North America, and the seventh deepest lake in the world.
The lake has formed in the destroyed caldera of a ancient volcano named Mount Mazama which blew its top about 6000 years ago, the lake is over 5 miles across, and the elevation on the rim is about 7000 feet or more.

I'd advise anyone driving through the north-west to make a side trip and see Oregons only National park.

I agree pez(and thankyou!), there are several threads I like to visit here that take forever to load up on my dial-up(56k if I'm really lucky).
With the bud starting to set in now its just getting too interesting to keep all the pics just thumbnails.
Look on the up side, it gives you a chance to smoke another bowl!

Some breathtaking shots of the local lands! Now those are some hills! Never seen real rocky mountain hills before...... Man I really need to make it out there before the next volcano..... :D

Beautiful scenery BC, I always have loved Oregon, but not much call for my species of electrical engineers there so I can only visit. And at that, I have never been to Crater Lake. I remember in school looking at 3d photos in science class at that and have wanted to go many times. It appears to me that one has to select Crater Lake as a destination since it is really not on the way to any place. Those Falls are beautiful as well. I have seen so many falls in Oregon. I am very surprised you have only one US Park there. Seems like the whole state is a park to me.
Thanks for the nice photos.

DimeBag65, pipeline, teddybud, SumHumFun, and WAMEN, thankyou!

newRandude- Crater lake is Oregons only National park, but there are several National Monuments, including the Oregon caves near Cave junction, the John day fossil beds, and the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area which is the deepest river gorge in North America(take that Grand canyon!).

A person who wanted to make a 2 day trip out of the deal could drive to the Bend area from Eugene, and see several volcanic areas as they travel south on Hwy 97, ultimatly ending up at Crater lake, from there driving back to I-5 near Medford.
Just south of Bend is the Newberry National volcanic monument(est. 1990), a striking volcanic landscape of young lava flows, lakes, pumice deserts, and even a mountain made of solid Obsidian! I wish I had pics of that, maybe I will make it back this year.
There are several other Volcanic places of interest in the area, as well as places like the Crooked river gorge, and Smith rock.

It's funny, I vacation a lot in Oregon, but it has always been to the same old beach all the time (Cannon Beach). I went white river rafting in Maupin on the Dechautes river and that was awesome. It was over 100 degrees and getting wet was a relief. Pretty fair rapids too, we lost a couple people out of the raft going over Oxbow Falls (we called it Oh Shit Falls.) One of my best friends is from Portland. From the sounds of it, he spends all his recreational time hunting and fishing in Oregon. He even lives in a town called Troutsdale. Next year I may just take a week getting to know more of Eastern and Central Oregon after all you have said. I have always loved it there, but growing up in Washington it seemed hard to really get to know Oregon. There is still a lot of Washington I have yet to see.
One time driving thru Oregon on the way back from California I came across a fellow that sells rocks and fossils there. It was a great spot, I am really into rocks. Pretty expensive though, he sells them by weight and a giant piece of quartz can run you several hundred dollars. Anyway, Oregon would be as fun as Hawaii, but without the high cost.
I am glad to see your grows are going well. I looked at one guys grow that had tons of preparation, perfect climate, no fear of leo etc and he is having a dissappointing grow (in his words). I have nothing growing (weed wise) and it is depressing. I really love to grow that stuff. It is one of those crops that really shows effort fast. I do have some killer tomatoes this year, but I want my MJ!

newRandude- Yeah, I've stayed in Troutdale a few times while up in Portland for Blazers games(back when they were worth watching).

stoneshaper- Lots to see down here, I've actually had people mistake some pictures of Oregons mountain areas for Brittish columbia.

mossy-thankyou!

caligreen-Yeah, I am sure I will harvest way more than enough for my families smoking/Vaping needs.
I should have enough to do lots of experiments with cooking, making Hash, making drinks(green dragon), freinds will be more than happy to absorb the rest of the surplus.
