looking good bro, HM#1 is looking like real beauty to me. Those are some nice trics on it for being so early in flower, also awaiting update for plot #3.

HM#3(my big plot), looks great! All the plants have started blooming, but the oldest 4 of the 11 are showing advanced blooming, nearly as strong as HM#1, but maybe a week behind her more or less.....oh well, its interesting.

East side of plot, with dogs laying below the plot-

The close plant on the left is OR95b, the plant downhill in the middle is a OR95 x NL, the two smaller ones are from the last generation planted.

The oldest 4:

This plant is showing pink hairs, a strong trait carried from my C99 gene pool. She has grown like a smaller version of her larger HM#1 sister.

This plant is my largest of all this year.

Hello rockmy79, here is the list of the fertilisers used, each of my holes is in the 25-35 gallon range, and most were lined with black plastic to help retain moisture

3 gallons of llama manure, NPK 1-1-1(also to help raise organic content for moisture retention)

2 cups(1TBS per gallon) of Kelp meal for Potassium and trace minerals

2 cups of Azomite or Dolomite lime for Cal,Mag and PH buffer

2 TBS 12-8-4 Seabird guano fed at planting as a side dress

As you can see, the primary fertilisers I used were llama manure, Kelp meal, and the Dolomite lime(all three mixed in at planting), the Guano was only used in small quantity at planting to help feed the seedlings until their roots found the manure.

llama manure is very mild compared to Chicken, Horse, and Bovine(cow, steer, etc) manures, and can actually be used uncomposted, and in very large quanities, it also usually has a very balanced NPK, with slightly more Nitrogen when used green(fresh).
I use llama manure as a general purpose fertiliser for everything now, both in the Veggie garden and in my guerrilla grows.
I hear that Rabbit manure has similar qualities.

I also used Kelp meal, it supplies a pretty fair ammount of Potassium, but more importantly it contains many trace minerals that may be deficent in my mountain soils. Also it contains natural plant hormones that encourage fast growth in many species of land plants.
Anyways, Kelp meal is cheep insurance that your plants have all the micro-nutes they need.

Dolomite or Azomite was added to boost the Calcium and Magnesium that are usually deficent in my soils, and to also help stabilise the PH after adding so much manure, and Peat moss.

In late July, when I knew blooming time was just days away, I also started feeding them weekly with Miracle grow Bloom booster(NPK 15-30-15), to help make sure they have a strong source of quickly assimilated Phosphorus, to help make sure bluds grow big and strong.

This years regimine was pretty simple, all stuff I collected of the ranch or got off the shelf at the hardware store or Wal-mart, even if I had used bagged steer manure insted of llama manure, the results would have been about the same.

All and all, nothing too fancy or expensive really :joint:

Looks like you've got some pretty good sun exposure there! Been doing your homework!

I use quite a bit of composted cow manure in the garden, works great, but its too heavy for me to get out to the plots.... I tried putting a bit in the bottom of a grass seed bag at the beginning of the season, and knew there had to be something easier... Thats carrying a lot of water....

You should tie two bags of manure together and sling it over the back of one of those moo-cows, J/K, heheh.
I've often thought about using the llamas for hauling supplies, but getting them out to the planting areas would attract more attention than it would be worth. Although it would not look too weird if I planted in a area with lots of trail hiking, they are very popular as pack animals these days.

Would'nt tieing those down increase your yield BC?
Yes! Especially if I had been tieing them from the begining, and intensively training them.
But I personally prefer not to train the plants to be low, this keeps the buds higher in the air where the breeze will help remove moisture and fight the onset of mold later on, also it keeps the buds in a easy to access position for mold inspections. As the buds fill in and get heavier, the branches will droop and seperate from eachother, allowing light and fresh air to reach the interior budsites.
Basicly I sacrifice a little total yield per plant for convienece and less bud lost to mold, I can always just plant more! Plus I'm just too lazy to mess with training outdoors, heheh :bashhead: Besides, I'm going to harvest enough bud to last me 5 years(or more), I'm not too worried.

your flower shots are already amazing. the pink haired c99 is my favorite so far, but i know there will be many more favorites to come. if those were my plants...they would be stripped to stems by deer. do you use any fencing this late in the season?

Great Show, Great Thread, I have been excited for you from the start and I am really getting excited now. All of the outdoor threads are getting that way. I am still at the cabin in the hills sorta and it is starting to chill at night a bit. I can feel fall coming.
I really like the colorful hairs. I have never grown anything like that before.

little j- Nope, the one with the wilting problems was HM#1, thats the plant with the advanced blooming at the moment, the one that is doing so well now.
The plant that just died recently was a very minor player, it was clear pretty early on that she was growing strange, I even started suspecting that she might be a he early on. She was doing very little side growth, only growing straight up.
She started getting some real yellowish, ugly leaves the last several weeks, and seemed to be having some serious health issues, but its a mystery why. To tell the truth, one scrawny plant is easy to write off, especially with all the very nice looking plants I do have. This runt would have yielded 1.5-2 oz at best, no biggy.

elevate- I do have all my deer fencing up still, but as budding progresses it is less and less likely that the deer will attack(but it could happen), but I will only add more fencing if I do see damage at a certain plot. So far I have had no damage due to deer this year at all, perhaps the cooler temps and the June/early July rains have kept their natural feed going strong enough that they are not curious about my plants.
I remove the cages at some of my plots for pictures, and at HM#3 the plastic net is too faint to see in pics.

newRandude- Yeah, it feels like my normal hiking season is here, I love it this time of year in the high mountains, warm in the day, and cool enough for camp fires and warm sleeping bags at night. I should be doing a hiking trip in a isolated area of the Cascade mountains right after Labor day, I have not done any camping, hiking or fishing at all this year, and I am looking forward to getting out and smoking a bowl out in the wilderness. I'll make sure to take some nice pics.

5 years, you aren't kiddin! you've got some big plants this year! Mine all stopped growing for a bit right before bloom.... got real dry, and I don't water... One of the many lessons learned...

Can't wait to start seeing buds... :D

just out of interest i wonder why u guys use ferts with such low npk??

from experience ive found the more u can get to your cannabis the better they will grow ..
id swap the cow manure etc for chicken manure ,, then your talking business ...

i always figured if your gonna go to the trouble to carry somethin all the way out there , may as well be potent stuff ...

cow manure is very low in nitrogen , and has a lot of salt in it apparently .. it would be more of a soil conditioner than fertalizer ....

nice dry chicken manure is about the best ive found as an all round fertalizer ...and no it does not burn ....
