Oregon Reds yes indeed. BC, at least you live close enough to get the grapes from the same place to make your wine. I mean I do too, but not close enough to figure out how and when I could get some good ones yet. I have been making my Pinot Noir from concentrate, and it is ok, pretty good, but not like what I get from Bethel Heights. Whenever I go to Oregon I buy a couple of bottles. It is cheaper there than in it is in Washington. I tried to grow a Pinoir Noir here in a fertile valley in a great spot for sun, a place I have grown many things very well and they died. Grape growing is a lot more complicated than bud for sure.
Yeah I noticed ICMAg is starting to Censor those colorful metaphors (as Spock put it in that one movie that I loved). Maybe soon they will start making us refer to our weed as some unknown herb or even tabacco in the future. Still a good site though, I visit every day and learn a lot.
I bet you are going to be really happy with that C99xOR95. Do you think she would fare well indoors? My last crop had some free seeds of unknown genetics that came along with a purchase I made from a Dutch seed company. One of the plants was a crazy grower and seemed to flower in the 24/7 photoperiod. I cloned her in a really basic way, I topped her and put the cutting in dirt and it flourished and continued to grow buds. I have no idea about the quality as my last gf got mad and cut everything down while I was away. But if it was as good as it was vigorous, it would have been a great mother. Water under the bridge now, I have to completely start over once I get settled in my next gig. Getting some superior genetics this time is my quest. That, and making sure no women ever know I am growing again.

There are a few vinyards near here that will sell juice or grapes in small amounts if you watch the local paper, but I'd like to put in enough Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cab to produce all my own, I guess I'd have to put in a Chardonay for the wife too.
:spank:

I actually took that phrase describing swear words from that Star Trek movie, good catch! I don't really mind not being able to use swear words, I rarely use the hard ones online or in real life anyways, but I have to say I kinda feel a bit violated that they edited my post with no warning. I can't say I ever even saw anything posted anywhere warning that they would be doing that?? Oh well, its Gypsys party at ICmag......

I have a feeling the C99 xOR95 will do well indoors, but this is my first year growing this new cross, so I have no idea what she will be like for potentcy and taste. If she is good I might kick a few seeds down to my indoor growing buddy and see.

Thanks for the love Paddi!

Thanks guys!

Wamen- Isn't Windows Paint just awesome? Heh heh

I took a trip out yesterday evening to visit my big plot, HM#3-

Here are some Macros I took of the top of my biggest plant at this plot, a OR95. She is starting to get a move on! All of my older, larger plants are starting to show pretty heavy, its getting me all excited!

I do seem to be noticing that the plants started in mid-Feb are getting a start on blooming earlier than the plants started in late March or later. All are very mature at this point, but the oldest ones just seem to be in more of a hurry, interesting!

On the way back I took a cool picture of some Poision oak turning hot pink, many do this when the climate turns drier and hotter in August, sometimes whole forests look as if they were spray painted-

It won't be long and my OR95s will be turning a few shades that might match that Poision oak.

BC That is very interesting. Starting so early on those plants is going to give you larger yield. Something to put in the old notebook. You are investing 9-10 months into a plant that some of us would only invest 4 months. I guess yield would have to be larger, just by how much longer they veg, but you are indicating that they are wanting to flower faster too. Maybe you will be able to get her out of the ground before the heavy rains? Something to really think about. I was also thinking that if you wanted you could force flower some of the smaller ones too so you could get them in before the rains. I do not know if you could put say a garbage can over them in the night. Or maybe even just draping a black plastic bag, a heavy one over them. A risk I know, having man made materials left near your site, but in a couple months you could have harvest and perhaps stagger your harvest a bit. Do you examine your trichomes or just harvest when you think they are complete?

newRandude- I had to take care of these plants for too long, starting that early(Feb 14) was a bit excessive for my tastes. Next year I won't start seeds until late March(or so), so I don't need to keep them indoors at all(plants at home defeats my mission). I started early this year because I wanted to see how big I could get Guerrilla plants, but after this year I will go back to my normal 2-3 Oz plants, but for now growing big plants has been pretty fun.

It does seem that being so old has allowed these plants to start blooming earlier, but its not much earlier, and I don't think it necessarily means I will be harvesting any earlier, I guess we will see.
Getting to these plots to cap and un-cap(force) every night and morning would be a long twice a day trip, going there once or twice a week in broad daylight is trouble enough.

I evaluate alot of things for harvest, I do check the trichromes, but usually trust smoke tests more. But usually I just let my plants go until they start getting some mold, and let that determine harvest, I tend to like my buds much riper than many folks do.

little j- It was actually about 2 hours or so before dark when I was out, the sun was behind the ridge there, and the pictures do look like they were taken at night. I like going there late in the day to take advantage of the shade, hauling weight up and down hills in the hot sun is not fun.
I like to get my business done before it gets too late, a large Couger has been spoted many times in the area, and late evening is a favorite hunting time for them.

Damn BC, Everytime you mention allowing mold it makes my skin crawl. Me, if I had mold I would make hash, but I am sure you are not talking about a huge percentage. You must be a very patient man, or have some laying around from last year still. Happy growing my IC friend.

Oh yes, I mean a very small amount of mold, I throw any infected parts of the bud away, no good! In order to get the perfect ripeness I want, I often have to sacrifice a couple bowls per plant, no big deal!

Backcountry,
Wanted to stop by and say high, been following your grows for a couple of years and am impressed by your efforts. You have been one of the mentors from whom I have learned much important info. Your post about irrigation using the Shurflow pumps and the water filter have made a difference in our chances of success. Congrats on your efforts this year.
