1Toke's DIY Tinkerer's lounge

 Hey mtnjohn - good to see ya in the DIY lounge - grab a cold one and set a spell. Thanks for the kind words, they keep us busy.

For anyone keeping track and wanting to build your own Access tracking database, here's the base table (atm it's all in one table, will be seperated and linked with field relationships as soon as I get the smoke reports and pics set up). Also a snap of the main screen form design. All simple straightforward, anyone can do it quickly.

More to come as it progresses...the strainguide is linked to my strains now, as well as breeder info and comments. Working on collecting good representative pics into it now. If there's interest I'll assemble it in folders and link everything, then burn it on dvd to pass along. Also revamping the main screen and creating a Switchboard screen for navigation and table maintenance. All it is a central screen with buttons linked to open the objects you want to work with.

Also want to incorporate grow info from the old FAQS along with new data gleaned from the forums, such as light schemes for coaxing strain traits and soil compositions of landrace regions and climate info.

What I'm aiming for is all the data I store in differrent places collected in one easy place to work with and reference on current projects. Not to mention the value of sharing strain cultivation info with others wanting to grow it out.

See ya in chat...... :woohoo:

N00bs. :nanana:

The old name was gettin close to about 4000 when the POM crap panicked some of us to close down and move one. To return and star over was a pain but taught us to ignore post numbers, we need an honesty & integrity gauge if we need anything at all. Some names amaze me that they were allowed to post 3,000 times.....

But to those like us 1,000 is indeed a milestone - your contributions are always thoughtful and usually dead-on bro. More importantly is the passion to contribute and help the community, a quality the 3,000 post trolls could care less about.

Congrats! Keep up the momentum...... :woohoo:

See ya in chat.....

yea i've read that whole pom thing....disturbing indeed....and security is primary so i can understand why some moved on..:chin:

and yea for me its indeed a milestone..i love growing my friend...and if i 'can' help some1 i will...the knowledge is growing just like feeling and reading the plants...
not commenting on everything though...coz my know how is stilll limited...altough i already had some great lessons down the way....
and i'm also not a postwhore...sometime i find it even difficult 2 comment few times on the same topics/plants ...eventhough i mean it everytime.... i feel like a :kissass:

nway i think you'l see some great gro's of me in the future....

 If anyone's still following, got my database done and encrypted, locked down with passes. I got the OG Strainguide and GrowFAQS mirrored to a hard dive and linked them with buttons on my main Traker screen and all is workin as planned. Even got a button to pull up a universal conversion caclulator that I use almost daily for volume, weight and temps. For now, will just enable links out to the web for these, but plan to burn them onto the distribution dvds when I'm done tweaking. Few more bells & whistles I want to program in yet, like report printing, etc.

Anyways, here's the project to date. Will see if any pics are worth loadin up tonight. See ya in chat......... :woohoo:

 Heya Jaws! Good to see ya bro. The Perpetual Planner spreadsheet keeps me informed, it lays out where a given plant is, what stage it is in and how much time left in that stage, and which of the 4 guanos it gets. Each plant on the sheet is assigned a date when it begins a cycle, the number below that is how long it's been in, and the bottom number is how many days left to the next stage. Really helps keep me in line. The spreadsheet shows the cloner, veg/prop cabinet, mom cabinet, and flower cabinet all at a glance and is automatically updated and recalculated when I open the sheet each day. Thank the lord for my Office Suite.

The DSD v2 was gifted at our last mini-cup and hasn't been flowered out yet for me to try, but the nugs at the cup were great. Nothing like Jack's Cleaner but an interesting cross just the same. My pollen stash holds a few surprises for the chosen girl.

The Chemdawg cross is up there with the big boys, others report hermies but this is my second run and they look great to 70 days. The Grape Kush was a tiny nug gifted at the last minicup and everyone really didn't expect much from her, but she revegged since last Sept and is just now finally taking off. Will report here on all of the new strains that I haven't done to date when they finish. Next to the trainwreck, ECSD, Schrom and Cappucinno the Deepwreck and Chemdawg are our favorites so far. The mom will be ready to give up some offspring soon, stay tuned for news.

Hey Buzzed day, yeah the CD has made a good showing, this is my 2nd run of her and she's got a place in the perpetual lineup. Hope to keep her around for a while.

Heya jujajico, how ya doin, good to see ya loungin. I work with about 20 strains, half of them have a permanent role in the perpetual scheme of things.

Thanks for stopping by guys, see ya in chat............ :woohoo:

 How ya doin barkeep! These are just Office Suite workfiles, the Planner is an Excel spreadsheet and the Strain Tracker is an Access database. I may port it to Visual Basic once I run out of tweaks, bells & whistles. :woohoo:

Hey Toke, I think VB is the way to go in the end. Really can't wait to see the end prduct. Sure is going to make life so much easier. I'm toying around with something now, but it's nothing like yours. Thanks again for sharing your work with us.
Take care,
BG

Any pics are welcome, jaws - it's great to see other growers' results of our strains side-by-side. And this is the DIY Lounge, any great diy projects to help others out is welcome also.....I've seen some ECSD that look totally different from mine - amazes me that the same plant can appear so different by other growers' environments. But the smoke reports are all the same amazing toke - go figure. :woohoo:

This run had a speedbump with the old tall pots I thought would do so good, fell back to the good old 4 gal pots right in the middle of a flower cycle, but it was save the girls or bin 'em & start over. They all seem to be recovering but sure threw molasses in the finish times.....

See ya in chat........... :woohoo:
