There was a great program on GCN live this morning but a homeless vietnam vet from SF. Found his daughter, hadnt seen her since she was 3, 30 yrs earlier.

Saw that. Also watched one about the vet's widowed orphans dying because the Bush League thinks giving away the farm to illegal alien kids is more important for re-election. Some poor slob got caught up in an illegal war and his kids can't get medical help, sometimes I'm ashamed of my birthplace but I'd still lay down my life for it again. What is this nation thinking by turning their backs on the vets and the constitution they fight so hard to defend. At least mercenaries have financial backing to take care of their kids after they're gone....jeeez.

Serious seeds AK is pretty good quality wise but not a good commercial strain because of its density or I should say lack of lol.I just recently dropped her from my pheno collection because of that reason,its relatively pretty strong erb though

got to disagree with ya on that point my friend, the ak (reg) that i grew out was a really good producer of some really head pounding bud...buds were think and solid and covered with resin, very very sticky stuff....even the lower buds were of good quality(sp) but smaller buds of cource.....

i wish i still had the pics of those ak's i grew out a couple years ago....

Yah, that one is a mom that has donated a lot of cuts for a few months, she's at the point of woody tree bark stem and in danger of rootbound, so I decided time to flower her. It seems to do best topped for two main stems, then FIM'd for 8 colas. Any more than that she branches all over the place and yeild goes down with smaller nugs all over and no main colas.

I'll post updates on the AK phenos in reveg as soon as they pop back in to normal growth, looks to be few weeks behind the one you posted. Totally different appearance when they are young with soft stems veggin.

As for yeild ballastman, this pheno does about the same as half dozen others I have in perpetual rotation at .56gpw. Deepwreck, SSSDH, SAGE, ECCSD, Swt#3, Schrom and trainwreck all yeilded slightly more - usually around the .86gpw mark. Hence my overall rating of 5.56 on the 1-10 scale, a strain needs above 8 to be considered for a keeper in my garden.

hey 1toke not sure exactly how to go about triming these monsters down, i may have to treat them just like i did the urkles when i ran them.....

i dont like a lot of undershoots makes no sence to me, i like to keep the bottom clean say 4/6" up from the bottom....i like to run with 4/6/8 upper branches the lower parts of the plant in my set up never get enough light any ways so no need to feed that area.....

Back to the grow...

Eight strains in flower, close to my schedule of a plant a week. Trainwreck, Schrom, AK, CD and ECSD @ 4 weeks left, DSD & SSSDH @ 3 weeks, and Skush @ 2 weeks. The SSSDH might go more than 70, we'll see how the veg cab is holdin up for space, got half dozen rootballs in the cloner aching to get into pots. The Grape Kush reveg is almost 3 feet now and threatening to flower - huge ass fans. We'll get pics up as it moves along....for now, Flavor-Of-The-Week winner is (yup, you guessed it) SSSDH....

Just cruisin through and got time for a note or two.

This week has been busy, got the veg cabinet panelled & sealed down, just need to trim it out for stealth. Found some 4100K floros (3x25w on one ballast) and added the 3 foot tubes to the ceiling of the veg chamber. The upgrade gives me 160w Wide Spectrum, 120w Cool White, 40w Warm White, and 75w @4100K (mid-day sun). That brings the veg cabinet to 395w all-spectrum floros.

Decided to utilize my spare 400w bulb, dusted off the ballast kit, and added it to Cab1, 400w HPS@55,000 lu and 400w AgroMax HPS extended blue bring Cab1 to 800w HPS.

Installed 4x100w CFLs in the propogation cabinet (recovery chamber) and 18w T8 floro inthe cloner chamber, bringing the prop cab to 418w.

Cab2 still has 150w HPS and two 100w MH for a total of 350w HPS/MH.

Bringing total wattage for entire room to 1963w. Flower Cab1 with 800w, Cab2 with 350w and veg cab with 395w. Future yeild projections begin with 1150w in the flower cabs, if they cycle from one cab to the other. Otherwise it will be based on 800w Cab1.

Will get pics posted after I get the fans moved from the cabinet ends (venting into the main room) up to the ceiling to vent into the attic. Have to do that to the veg cab and Cab2.

ahhh sweeeet pics dude, i'm hearing thats a very nice strain to puff on...

man just cant understand how some of you growers get away with useing so many watts and not drawing any attention to youe selve's.....i run 800w and i some times worrie about that amount ....

my ECSD and CHERRY AK are looking good i will get some pics in here soon so you can look at them....these cherry ak are some branchy fuckers and the stems are super tiny, its going to be a huge job keeping these under control...

Hey jaws - no doubt, it gets wild if you let it. But the toke is pleasant enough to keep around a while, unique flavor experience.

800w is less amp hours than 8 100-watt reading lamps. I feel ya on the paranoia of discovery for use, but not a worry and no attention is drawn unless you suddenly jump to 2k. If you really want to see your meter spin fire up the hottub!

Seriously, there are so many household electronics and gadgets that an additional 10 lamps is hardly noticed. I would concentrate more on maximising the usage and less on getting noticed. If you turned off 8 ceiling lightbulbs, you made the 800w invisible.

It's always good to tweak your whole house for electrical usage and safety. Replace all standard bulbs with low-energy new ones, run green appliances and energy saving shit, compensate for a large light being on somewhere. And don't forget that extension cords are the biggest draw and waste of your current, they act like a resistor and cut into your available amperage. If you have to use wire and extension cords make sure they are heavy duty to minimize the load.

Looking forward to the new pics, I'll get the mom pics up, but she's a bush from donating so many cuts over the last year, and not a fair representation on what this strain is capable of. The next run of one of her clones will tell the tale.
