Hey everyone,

I've been building a bigger cab 430W. But those that are interested, I posted in this thread a while back and thought you might want to see what the final harvest was from my floro tube experiment. I've been busy, sick with the flu and handed out a jar to my electrician for services rendered all in haste before I snapped pics. So on with the pics...I'm missing one large jar aprox 10 grams. but you get the idea. all and all it was a successful experiment flowering in a veg cab.

smokey ... i am at 196 watts, hid and flouro, so you are closer to 150 than me . welcome aboard, i say .

bonsaigrower ... what do you figure your harvest was and how many watts and square feet did you have ? i just like flouros . i'm going to try flowering under them one day .

natural ... nice piece of bonsai there. i did that a few weeks back on a couple of plants; they took it well . i'll put pics up one day.

Green_Grow ... it was an experiment while I was waiting to build my bigger cabinet. Here's a picture of the box. 4-14W Floros Vertical in the corners and 4-20W Horizontal so...136W Mixed Spectrum. The plan was to have this as my veg cab but when I fired it up for the first time it seemed brighter than anticipated so I tried one flower cycle with LUI strain. New strain to me as well so I really wasn't sure what to expect. Final harvest was aprox. 60 grams but keep in mind I only had them in veg for a few days. The day they had roots I put them in flower as to keep them as short as possible. My grow space is 24"d x 26"w x 18"H and that's including space for soil. In my gallery you can see my original sketch design but I'll be breaking this box apart to make a better one shortly. I'm going to build one that will fit my main grow tubs so when I harvest I'll have a new box ready to go in right away with no time in-between for scrog.

Hope that's the answer you were looking for. any questions or comments are fully welcome. Even though I'm a 430watter now I still love this thread and will keep an eye on it. and besides I bought a 150w HPS that will get its own box soon enough and it will need a venue to feel at home.

BonsaiGrower - nice work on the floro harvest - I've always wanted to do one of those myself. I'd be interested to hear how the smoke compares to HID grown of the same strain.

smokeymacpot - well I don't think there is a 70 watt club, and we've always been open to other growers with similar small wattage lamps so I for one welcome you to the club.

how tall are those plants? they look about 20cm to me.

what height and age were they when you flowered them?

why didnt you bend them down or twist them through a mesh screen? because it looks like you only just managed an 8th per plant lol

all these plants are nigerian nightmare and were bonzai'd 28 days ago.
first pic, sex unknown, a nice healthy, wide plant.




2nd pic, female, took clones and immediately bonzai'd and put back into veg.
i am keeping this more for cloning practice (having difficulty in that dept) than for use as an actual mother.




3rd pic, sex unknown, this plant is my pet because it is by far the bushiest one i have grown so far . hoping it's female.

my friends i got a question would $110 bucks for a small 150w hps light from htgsupply be worth the upgrade right now i am useing a 100w hps mini-micro light would 50watts more be worth it or should i just keep my current light.oh ya does anyone here have a digital 150w ballast from hidhut?that is also in my head .what do you all think

Thanks Thanks....it smokes really well actually...and it's all I have in my arsenal right now. a friend was over last night with hash and commercial M39 ...I hate that I always smell Henna in hash...turns me sick and the M39 was all chemically. I am a true convert now...it's gonna suck if I can't make this harvest last till next. ,,,however...next will be the LUI under the HID so I'll definatly let you know. Thanks for keepin an eye on me...ha

Smokey ... yes go ahead and have a chuckle...it was just that...a funny experiment gone good. My tallest 2 were about 35cm and the rest about 16-20cm averaged 6 grams per plant. I cloned 10 from 5 different Moms to monitor each and as soon as the roots were coming out of the peet cubes I potted in 4" pots and switched to 12/12 ... 72 days later the Triches were a prism of colors and brown. Cut hung for 7 days and a jar for the last 2 weeks....today I'm pleasantly clicking away having a giggle too...cheers...oh...have a look at my gallery if ya like...it's not huge

anyone have any ways of having our gallery's set up in subfolders to make it easier to hunt around for the pic you might need?....some of your galleries are HUGE!!!! no fun trying to get there (even though your pics rock) when it's obvious the guy knows what he's doing and all you really want to get to is the money shot so to speak...ya know?

Carlos- Personally I do not think that is worth the money. Why don't you instead buy a 150 watt light and ballast from e-conolight for ~30 dollars, wire it up and add that in addition to your current 100 watter.

Hey bro, do you find that the LUI goes farther than the commercial shit? Ie. smoking less and getting more stoned? I'm with you on the hash. We need to make our own bubblehash. MMMM LUI bubble....sounds absolutely crippling! Yay!!!

I'm looking for nice buzz long, if you know what I mean. i hate being straight 20 mins after puffing a j. Why bother, ya know?

yes I highly recommend it! I got a 1 gallon bag kit of schwag bags (made in usa) and it nicely processes the trim from one scroged plant into a .5 gram of the finest hash I've ever smoked.

as another alternative you can find a framed silk screen at most craft stores for around $20 and your will be able to get a real fine quality of hash by just skuffing the dryed trim across the screen. I set one up over a large clean glass pyrex pan when I'm trimming the buds and at the end I have some real nice dry sift.

there are probably some DIY links too - hard part is finding the silk screen - if you know a good art shop you're probably all set to go. 100-74 micron is ideal for getting the highest quality of hash.

I'm doing a little experiment and stashing some bubble inside some books stacked up to press it and let it age a while - I've heard it can also cure to a better smoke.

It seems like a no-brainer to make bubble from your trim. There is a link for DIY bubble buckets, which I will definitely make. Great tip about the screen at the art store!

Morning Everyone...Saturday Wake-n-Bake anyone? I'm a late in the day smoker but today feels like an exception.

HeadyPete hands down this lasts longer than anything commercial I've ever had. I was havin a fight with my boss this week and I'm trying to get fired so I figured what better way then to go in fried. Smoked at 7am with a roommate and come 3 in the afternoon I realized...holy crap...1 I'm still fried...2 I still have my job!!!...3 My boss has no vision or direction for the future! 4...who cares I'm still fried and asside from a dweeb spoiled kid of a boss it's a better job than roofing or brick-laying or many of the other shit jobs I've done. As for makin bubble hash....YES YES YES...gotta try it one day. My last harvest produced all of about 20 fan leaves and maybe a gram of sugared trim. I just added it to my composter for Karma in my Tomato garden next year.

sugabear_II Thanks for the info .... I know exactly where to get a silk screen in town now. I've read alot of links on the bubble hash buckets and what not...some people make a big deal out of the process and some keep it simple. Once I actually have enough trim to work with it'll be a fun experiment and safer than makin oil. What's the smallest amount of trim you have made it with? If the trim was totally covered in sugar would it stand to reason I could use less trim?

This is at around day 30 something flowering, but since they were flowered at 2-3 weeks veg they took some extra time to start flowering...
Great flower growth so far, but they aren't frosty yet!

Sorry about the quality of the pics... my camera broke a while back, I had it fixed but lost all my settings I had for macro shots. I'm still trying to reconfigure it...
