Hey SugabearII

Hey SugabearII

I PM'd you earlier. Can anyone help me with this configuration. It was talked about on page 9 of Tiny's 150 watt club.

I was wondering about this example;

SugabearII: "incidentally if you wire your lamps to the same plug you only need a single capacitor between the line and the first ballast to increase the power factor of all the lamps".

My question is do you mean, put the wires to both lamps to the same power cord? I have a 52uf capacitor. Can this 52uf capacitor withstand the current of both lamps starting at the same time. I have 2 150 hps. Can you tell me where do I attach the second set of wires (black white wires). Or better can I run wire from both lights to the same capacitor. Thanks for any help I can get.

I finally got the money together for my 150W light. Its a globe 150W security light and came to just under 100$ Can from Rona. I planted some seeds outside from a buddy and only one female survived til now, and I had it up in a stump. It doenst look anywhere near done flowering and it was getting very cold and wet outside. I brought it in yesterday and some unfortunate transportation events lead to the plant falling about 8 feet and uprooting itself. This lpant was just a fun experiment anyways, and it was gonna rot and freeze to death outside so I had to bring it in. Not sure if it will survive, but it wont crush me if it doesnt.
Ive never give this plant any nutes, just water because it was so far in the bush. Should I maybe start doing this so itll have more chance to pull through? Is there anything else I can do to improve chance of living?

I currently have one of those stupid 6" duct booster fans and once the door closes hardly moves any air at all. I need to increase my passive intake and maybe add in some CPU fans then that should be taken care of. I may be considering getting a Dayton blower fan, but the size is kindof an issue.

Veg lights and some clones should be coming soon. Ill keep you all posted, everyones pictures look good, keep em coming.

sorry I didn't get back to you. I think you would have to wire them in parrallel with one plug, but to be honest I don't know. I'd try it wired in one lamp and then get another if it works well.

I have question can i put a 150watt hps bulb in my 100watt hps sun system light?.and also are the bulbs from homedepot are they ok to use do they put out the same light as the og bulbs that come with the light systems? please let me know thank you peace! :joint:

no don't put a 150 in a 100.

yes the bulbs at homedepot are just fine and as good or better than what came with the thing. you could upgrade to a hortilux or some more blue spectrum bulb, but at over twice as much why would you?

Making hinges light tight?

Making hinges light tight?

I wanna use those euro style kitchen cabinet hinges. I'd like to get some ideas on how to make them light tight though. I had once seen a pic over on OG, but haven't seen anything on here yet.

I'm also looking for advice on how to make fake drawers. I'm building my box from scratch. Open to any an all ideas.

carlos,

no you cannot put a 100 watt MH in there. You need a special bulb called a conversion bulb and I have never seen one of those in 100 watt size.

The best deal you will find on a complete pre-made 150 watter is here;

http://htgsupply.com/productdetail.asp?productID=438

and according to Bulenath who just recently got one they are easily made into a remote ballast setup.

If you are dying to get both MH and HPS spectrum out of a single lamp then go for the 175 MH ballast setup and get one of these bulbs;

http://www.wormsway.com/detail.asp?sku=HP153

But at the price of the conversion bulb you could have bought a 175 watt MH lamp from econolight for less.

I'm not sure about the fake drawers, but I do know that double layered felt stapled or taped to either side of the hinge works well. I've got a 2" wide layer running all the way up the sides of my doors and it works great.

killa-bud : the ballast is mounted outside the cabinet (remote) in order to keep temperatures down (ballasts get fairly warm during normal operation) and to maximize available space inside the cabinet.

If you'd like a suggestion on making the Euro hinges light-proof, check out my IKEA cabinet thread in my signature below. I used quarter-round wood trim and some foam weatherstripping, and it's 100% light-proof.

Bounty,

I had thought about that too. Just wasn't sure how well it would work. Thanks for the insight.

Angel Eyes,

I remember your box now! That's what I was thinking... BUT, alas that wouldn't work for mine. The style of your hinge sets the door inside the frame. Where as mine, the door will cover the frame. The difference being that arm of the hinge between the door and the frame, your's has a "U" shape to it, where mine will be flat up against the wood. There would be no room to put any type of trim!

To All,

I think everyone remebers Nimby's stealth dressers. That's kinda what gave me the idea for fake drawers. What I have to work with. Save for the back panel, all wood I'm buying is 2'x4' 3/4" ply. On one side I'm creating a 2'x2'x4' flower chamber, the other side which will also be the same size vertically, but divided in half horizonally half way up, creating a lower chamber for moms and clones. Top half will be for fans, remote ballast, timers ect. with space inbetween for drying racks...

Here's what's got me stumped... Unlike the door on the flower chamber, the actual face of the fake draw door will be flush or "inside frame". But If I do this, the edge of the horizonal shelf that divides the two chamber apart will have to be exposed. I can get a iron on laminate that will clean-up that edge ...but would it look suspicious?

fyi, if you're building or concidering build a box, take a look at www.rockler.com lotsa woodworking goodies

Hello everyone. :wave:

Quick update: 2 BOG BMR ladies. :woohoo:

Here they are @ approx. 2 weeks flower.

I removed one of the scrog screens.....the LST was working fine, so I ditched the screen. Still might do it on the other one, though.

These screens are 8x8..... I have 6 bud sites on one.... and 7 sites on the other.

Notice how small these ladies stayed..... Their about 7-8" tall.

I'm not expecting a whole lot from them....... If I get an Oz. dry per plant....I'm happy.

Let's just hope they start gettin' fat. I like 'em a little fat.......You know, fat girls try harder. :sasmokin:
