Hey everyone, I am just starting my first 150W cabinet!

I'll post some pictures and questions here!

Bookmarked!

Hey Namo, that sativa looks like it may be over dried, or too hot...

Unless it's a unique characteristic of that particular strain, try to get her away from the light, and give her a good watering!

Those curled leaves look dangerous IMO... Sure others will chime in!

Just trying to help you out!

Great job though!

^ agreed. Did you stock all that up growing under your 150?

On another note, I've just tested my setup, and behold, the temperature stays at only 2 degrees above ambient - and I was scared of heat issues this whole time. Looks like I may be upgrading to a 250w already. I'll miss you guys :puppydoge

edit: well, not till flower time at least

Quick queries for the 150 folks -

I have 2 x 70w hps (140w total), is the light in mine equivalent to or nearly a 150?, or is it just very bright 70 x 2?

Am I making sense?

Would I see much diff in going to a 150? I have the grow tips now within 4 inches or so from bulbs.

My area is approx 1.5 sq ft. & 3 ft high.

Thanks in advance - stoned minds want to know...

ok....1 70's mean lumens are 5670

5670
X 2
-----
11400 @140W

150W hps is

14000 mean lumens at 150W

so your better off to get a 150 but you could get those extra lumens by adding 2 42W cfls....then you would be allmost at 20 000 mean lumens, and runnning more power than needed to get those lumens,so 150 ide say.......sorry im not stoned so im rambling, hope this helps

I don't believe its quite the same. With a single 150 watt source, all the light is emitted from a singular (or near singular) source giving it a higher power flux (basically concentration) than two seperate sources of equal size. The same amount of light is emmited, but at a lower concentration from each. In this context, that would translate into less intense light that wont penetrate as far as a single 150, but that has the ability to light a larger space.

Two 70's in an area about 1.5 Sq Ft is fine. If your total height is 3 feet, you'll loose bottom space for your container and top space for your lamps, and the remaining growing height will be perfect for those two lamps.

Huey: I run 2x 150W in 3.5ft^2. Your 2x 70W should work fantastic w/ 1.5ft^2, assuming you have adequate ventilation. I use a Dayton 265 and two small desk fans to keep my space cool.

UPDATE: My clones have taken a long ass time to root. I had one SQ clone w/ roots after 10 days, so I put it in one of my bubbling buckets in the room. After two days, the roots are sticking out from the net-pots like crazy. Very cool!

I'm pretty sure it's a female, too. I have two more known female clones ready to go, I'm just waiting for their roots to develop a little more before I stick them in the buckets.

My space is looking better and better, too. I'm going to run 3 plants in 3 separate 2ga DWC buckets. I took the time a couple days ago and punched holes in the floor of my cab, so the rim of the bucket sits flush against the floor. It's pretty cool because now I have all of my vertical space to play with w/ the hydro set-up, which seems like it's going to be a lot faster than soil. My plan is intense LST, might as well be a scrog; it's just that I need the anchor points to be attached to the buckets so I can remove them to change the water every two weeks. I have to remove each bucket separately. Der.. A reservoir and pump in the bottom part of my cab would save me some headaches, I'm sure. Maybe next time around.

QUESTION: Does anyone know the top-off formula for DWC buckets off hand? I'm sure I could deduce it or find it myself, I'm pretty good at math, but if someone knows or has the link handy, I'm really appreciate it. I have a TDS/EC pen. I filled the bucket w/ nutes @ 0.8 EC to start. So if I go and check it and it's 0.6EC, how do I bring it back up to where it needs to be?

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I swear I couldn't do this without you guys.

FiveSevenZero - It varies depending on the nutes you are using and the amount of H2O that needs to be replaced. Over the years, I've found that the best way is to top off the bucket with water, then adjust the EC/PPM level by adding nutes with the pen in place till you reach the desired concentration. After that, adjust the PH accordingly.

http://www.hanflexikon.de check it out people....OG strainbase

the old og strainguide is a great resource - heck you can even find reports by me on burmese and nl x c99...

someone pulled it down into a database and did some analysis on the guide once - can't find the thread but I remember it was interesting....

wow nice thread and lots of imbressive grows under 150w..
heres couple grows under 110w hps

aurora-indica

Curious how the smoke was on this strain? I am now flowering one plant of this in a 150 Cab @ http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=62160 here. I am really looking foward to doing more "Tricky" style growing techniques after my first run on this.

This one main stem has a 3 leaf growth pattern which I was told was sorta rare. I am having major heat issues, but I think next run I am going to build one of those Cabs with the different chambers (The one linked from OG Stealth cabs)

cab with door shut

plant at about 12 days into flower

as of yesterday

20ish days into flower, 3 leaf growth shoot.

If anyone has time I would really love if someone could answer a couple of the questions that were not taken care of in that post. This thread rocks!

So post away!

We're all here just for that reason.

Information Interexchange.

Over the years I've had a plant or two that pretty much remained in a three-leaf configuration. They never really did very well, and as I recall, in my case it was often due to the roots being traumatized (sp) in some manner.

It is common for a plant to start doing three fingered leaves in flower when it has south asain genetics (southern india and burma/myanmar particularly) from what I have heard. It also can be a stress reaction in flower...

this plant - the Oregon90 x burmese pure (OB1) sativa 12 week flower pheno did 3 fingered leaves throughout flower...

turned out quite nicely.

also here's a burmese that as you can has some three fingered leaves - but not all of them - and only during flower
