Yeah seriously. I just took a clone from every growing point of the living plants when I had to move, and I got 20 from each of them. It's my first time cloning, so I'm trying for more than I need. I'm hoping to keep the best 3 or 4 from each plant, so all I really need is a 15-20% success rate. I'm hoping for more than that, but that's all I need.
I'm planning on planting them into beer cups once they show roots, and then once roots show from the bottom of those, which I'm hoping will be around a week or two, I want to put them into 2 liter bottles and put them right into flower. I'm hoping I can get 10-14g from each plant, but I'm not sure how realistic that is.
I really want to go all organic and feed them with teas, but I'm not sure if I can do that this time around. I already have a bunch of PBP, so I might as well use it up. That shouldn't be a problem, but overall, I've got high hopes for this grow!
Thanks for the info suga. I'm planning a trip to the craft store as we speak.
Well i'm back from my surf session, waves were on the small side but as they say, "the worst day of surfing beats the best day at the office" lol.
I have a few pics to update my grow so here goes:
100 HPS up top/150 HPS on the bottom.
4 Crystal in the 100...leaning more on the Indica side. One male grew balls in the bunch and got neutered.
5 White Widow all leaning more to the Sativa side. Both top and bottom went 12/12 a couple days ago.
This is the outside of the dual cab with doors closed. See the new DIY carbon scrubber to the left. Had fun putting that together for the Ice that were recently harvested.
That was weird...thought I posted this. Anyway this is the 4 Crystal.
I'm looking forward to putting these (hopefully ladies) down in the 150.
And a shot of the new 430 cab 20" x 30" x 72".
Doors open...
Doors closed...
White Widow in the center has some serious health issues. Not sure what I'm going to do with her. The "Big Bud" on the right and wild pheno "Zamar/Super Silver Haze" on the left are comming down in the next few days as they're 50/50 clear/cloudy. Need to make room for the new batch of WW's.
wow Hawaiian808 you have a very nice set of custom furniture - I'm really diggin the new 430 cabinet you built - that will give you plenty of room for some big long colas.
Mahalo Suga. Yep, looking forward to letting the girls grow however they feel without having to worry about height restrictions. Suppose I should subscribe to the 400 watt club but it just feels more like home right here. Too many excellent resources/minds in the 150 club. If you guys don't mind the occassional 400 watt pic I'd prefer to stay put.
i am having some success now in getting cuttings to root but, as you will see from the pics, all is not completely well ...
these cuttings are in a mix of soil/perlite and some homemade compost. they havent been fed anything other than what is in the soil/compost . any ideas on what might be wrong ? i know the infirmary is the usual place to post sick plants, but it can get a bit crazy there at times . the 150 club is cool .
not panicking yet, as they will probably pull through, but input from more experienced gardeners is always appreciated .
they are sugarwarp, by the way, and were transferred from the cloner to these pots 6 - 9 days ago .
Hawaiian: I don't sell, smell, or tell. Nobody knows. Nobody smells. And I don't sell because I think it's bad karma to become a drug dealer after all of this toil trying to cut the dealers out of my business. I always try to play it as safe as possible.
Anyway, these are some cuts taken from a mama grown from seed taken from an OK bag of weed. My last grow was from seed taken from really crappy weed, the worst of the schwag nobody in their right mind would ever want to smoke, so I'm hoping for something nice from these girls:
They were rooted in those containers you see there. Just plopped them right down in a nice, damp bed of coco. Kept the coco wet, and they rooted in about a week. I put them in my soil mix a couple days ago.
ok guys i think i have an issue im 40 days into flowering and i think i see a nanner on the top of one of my cola's here she is and the object which i think is my problem. what do u guys think? should i jus pluck it if it is indeed a nanner of completly remove the plant?
rasta - It is very common for many strains to develope a few male flowers as they mature thru the flowering stage. This is especially true if the plant has not been fertilized by another male. Survival of the species thru self-pollination. If the plant isn't huge, you can often just stay on top of it and remove them as they appear. On the other hand, if its more than just a few, and the plant is of a size that makes it hard to deal with, I would not allow it to affect others growing in close proximity. In this case, I'd remove the plant to another area, allow it to mature till the flowers popped, wait one more week, then chop and cure. This way you will have allowed the plant to build up as much crystal as possible before it starts to turn its strength to making seeds. If you choose this option, be aware of just how easily pollen is moved from one place to another and take the proper precautions such as misting while working with it.
Of course this is JMHO, but also how I have handled similar situations over the years in my own gardens.
And also wanted to add that it's not yet a nanner - you can wait a few more days until it really starts to pop out the yellow flower part and then just pick it off with tweezers.
But if things get out of control then you need to chop her. Actually hmmm.... let me see I think I have a picture of a later flower nanner for you to compare... hold on I'll be right back...
so yeah here's a picture of a nanner late in flower day 51 - I picked a dozen or so nanners for a week off of this plant before finally chopping here. The nanners never resulted in seeding of adjacent plants.
"My plants are doing well at 55 days of 12/12, well except the blue sat x jack herer that is popping out more and more male flowers from the terminal buds. This started out last week I noticed one around day 51 of 12/12; see pic;"
I would wait until the nanner comes out like this one before you start pulling it off - right now it's still too early in your pic to even be sure that's a nanner.
well i jus went crazy and plucked it off, after careful examination of the plant it seems to be the only one thank god. so it will be under super careful watch for the rest of the grow and if more show im jus going to cut her down. i unfortunatly cant move her anywhere as there is no other place to move her. so ill have to see whats going to happen .
I had some balls pop out on my Shiska on the last grow. I was working on my scrubber one night and it looks like the bit of light that came through the door crack was enough to pop a few flowers. They all were on one cola (nice one too) and were in a line. I think I picked off about 6 that popped out in a week and that was the end of them.
Funny thing, they weren't bannanas that developed into flowers but balls that would dump pollen when they popped open. I think the "female" flower is different than the male.
red_green - you know what you have a point there - when I have flowered a true male for breeding the structure is a ball that opens and has a few yellow flowers inside (2 or 4 I think).... but when I have seen hermie flowers on a female plant they have usually skipped the ball phase and just popped out as a bannnanna like above....
natural - very nice work grapefruit has become one of my favorite smokes and to think I was slightly disappointed when I first chopped.... but after a month or two curing in a jar the smell and taste is like candy - soo sooo soo yummy - so when you chop that lovelly lady be sure to save it for as long as you can before you smoke it as if you smoke it all too quick you'll miss out on her true goodness.
