Bummer! Definitely see a ball there.

Some people get lucky- they pluck them and they don't come back. Best you can really do is stay super vigilant and hope. Most of the times you see balls that early, it doesn't work out, though, unfortunately

Maybe your lowers need more light? They can get weird sometimes in the shade

A Freind of mine who’s an experienced grower let me know it’s not uncommon to find some balls on some of these exotic cuts. Really comb through them in week 3 and 4. Pull everything and they shouldn’t grow back. If they do, you should scrap the plants.

Hoping I don’t find anymore

Ah yeah, I suppose it's different from cuts, I only know from seed, really. But I've got my fingers crossed for you. Keep treating them well and you have a chance!

I’m an idiot. Cuts = seeds

We’re talking seed runs. I had a dry back in week 1 and it may have stressed them out. they’ve been babies ever since and are being well cared for

I’m spending 30 minutes each day, pulling them out and really taking a look at them

No balls spotted since then night I cleaned them up

Cross your fingers! Things have been going so well…first grow in 10yrs. Let’s hope these sporadic balls were just that

Hi! I used to post/grow but gave it up when I started a family. The family is still going but laws change and so does my situation. In the past 10yrs there has been a lot of new stuff come up. I'm currently waiting for my Spider Farm G3000 to arrive and cleaning up a bit in the basement to make room. I've always used HIDs and where I live, the heat they produced was necessary for winter growing indoors. With that said, I have more resources than 10yrs ago and feel confident I can procure what I need to control temps.

I have a bunch of beans but due to limited space will only be popping fems. My bean stash is modest but I do have Archive face off crosses, a smattering of CSI Humboldt and recently purchased some beans from Ziplock:

Ziplock Seeds
Watermelon Milkshake - cereal milk x KY jealousy
Heady Wedding - (wedding cake x gelato 33) x (strawberry snow x og headband royal)
Cherry Mafia - (mentol x garlic grove ss) x (cherry pie x chem dawg bx3)
Cherry Breath - (mendo breath x grateful breath) x (cherry pie x chem dawg bx3)

CSI Humboldt Seeds
Old Family Purple / T1000 x GSC
UK Cheese S1
Loompa's Headband x Triangle Kush

My plan is to pop a few of the above aiming for 4 healthy ladies to finish out. Todd from AG Seeds has me hyped on all of his heirloom genetics and I have a few of his packs but due to them being regular seeds, I am going to save them for when I have a bit more patience and time but I want to get a run under my belt.

never heard of zip lock seeds untill recently got some as freebies --are they OK ?

I’ve heard great things and I have literally all of their packs from the last two releases…I’m finding a few nuts/hermie flowers on some of the lowers but I couldn’t tell you if it’s the beans or my environment.

What I’ve gathered is that a lot of these cookie crosses have a tendency to Herm but what do I know

Keep following along to see how these ladies turn out. I have a few favorites at the moments but time will tell.

Week 4 Pics to come…I picked three male flowers off today. They were still green and hadn’t opened so I think I’m good but I’ve already come to terms with there being a few beans in the batch. My hope is that I intervened early enough to prevent anything catastrophic. I think it may be one particular strain as it seems have only affected the Laser Wolf beans.

Laser Wolf is amaretto sour x tropsicle. I have no idea if those parents tend to Herm but I have some thoughts about my next run…

I’m going to do a run of genetics that have been worked a bit more and stress tested…or just tested at all

CSI Humboldt has always been my go to and he focused on some seriously cool old school legendary cuts from the last 30yrs. Think chems, OGs, Sours, purples, etc

I also have Matt Riot bubbleberry v2s that I’m very curious about.

When you buy seeds from a breeder who drops 30 different crosses a few times a year, the hunting is on you. Besides a germination test, I doubt there’s much in the way of stabilization or backcrossing. There are keepers to be found in the progeny but I haven to find and may have to sort through herms.

Like I said, I’m a quick learner but when I was growing last, the forum cut had just started to make a splash….it’s been 10yrs and I’m out of the loop

I’ve also heard really good stuff about Humboldt Seed Company. They take some of their crosses to f4 or f5

I’m a seed grower and need to mitigate as much intersex as possible

Tomorrow is 28 days and according g to my Pulse, here is my 4week environment averages:

Temp: 72.4
RH: 55.3%
VPD: 1.12

No temp swings, stable RH but I need to focus on raising the VPD these last 4-6 weeks. I have no idea when theyll finish but I’m borrowing a buddies tent for drying. I’m gonna take em all according to trichs and they’ll be finishing at different times.

4 WEEK UPDATE
Things are starting to come together. A few of the plants are beginning to fade a bit faster than I'd like and a few have burned tips. the ones that are running out of food aren't to blame. I am growing supersoil in 3gallon pots. I will be buying some 5s and 7s for future runs. This first run was soley about filling up jars. the burn must be from the top dressing of seabird guano, kelp meal and EWC.

I am using Recharge every other watering. Every water includes a touch of Yucca which has done an excellent job keeping things wet and allowing the soil to become fully saturated with no run off. I'm giving each plant about 40oz of water every other day.

the canopy is really starting to show off. You can easily see the pheno differences.

The entire operation is so solid. I love seeing all the trichs forming on the inside areas of the fan leaves. You’ll have some prime trim!

Exciting grow, welcome back my friend.

Week 5

These pics solidify how trash a photographer I am because the plants are lookin much better in person....although three are starting to yellow/lockout. But besides that, The ladies are drinking 50ish ounces every other day with a touch of yucca extract. Dechlorinated tap water for here on out as I've stopped molasses and teas.
Week Five Stats:

avg RH - 52%
Avg Temp - 74f
Avg VPD - 1.30

Standout Plants:

The watermelon milkshakes (cereal milk x ky jealousy) are turning a bit purple in the tight sugar leaves, seriously frosty with an artificial candy smell. Keep in mind, I know nothing about the lineage other than they're all hype, exotic cuts. when i had a garden 10yrs ago....the forum cut was around but it was before the exotic, instagram worthy, cookie craze. We're not dealing with Sours, Chems, OGs and the like...that's for the next run ;-)

The laser wolfs (amaretto sour x tropsicle) are also lookin fire....squattier in structure with large resinous golf ball nugs. the interesting thing about the laser wolfs are they ended up being the only plants that threw male flowers. it was never bad and I stayed on top of it and happy to say I haven't spotted anything questionable in about a week. but they indeed threw nuts but they are lookin REALLY good...time will tell if and how many flowers are seeded as i think I caught it early enough.

how do you like them "red"plant branch clips, have them + some smaller ones --really don;t know if the work or ot , branches are too big or the use of - looks like you use them as branch seperater -- seems like the plant has to be very "young" to use on branches ?? My clips are just collecting dust - thought they were a good idea but really I don't know ?? thoughts At least the idea for use seems sound

I totally agree with everything you stated. Using them as a spreader is about the only way they're utilized in my garden...i can see them being used on larger plants if used early when the branches are pliable. They would be awesome for tomatoes and peppers but indoor cannabis...not so much. I'm always looking for way to open up the canopy and they work fine for getting more light to penetrate.

I found Ziplock Seeds on Redditt's r/microgrowery...its definetly the fruity, cookie-type plants that I am not familiar with at all. I have run Chunkypig's OGKB 2.0 but unfortunately its been lost. Also had the forum cut cookies from 2010 icmag.

So, I am mostly a gas guy (Sour D, Chems, Kushs, etc) but I want to give some of these hype strains a proper run as I don't have access to these types of genetics. I won an auction and have 10+ packs of Ziplock Seeds...all different types and all feminized....if any of them strike your fancy, let me know and I can send some your way. ICMAG's members have always been VERY generous in the past ;-)

I also love CSI Humboldt and Archive Genetics...I feel those guys are preserving the legendary strains that were popular 20yrs ago (Triangle, Urkel, Chems, Sour D's, Trainwreck, Headband, etc). And IMHO, there's nothing better than a properly grown Sour D. I love those terps...

Now, getting back to the LEDs...I am new to them and when I used to grow with HPSs, I'd get it as close as I could without burning but it's apparent that these LEDs are way more powerful.

Do you have any tips? The SpiderFarmer G3000 states that for early veg, 16-24inchs above the canopy at 30% dimmed. I would say I am closer to 16inches but might raise it a few more. The power of these new lights are WILD and they fact they don't produce any heat...got me off my game.
remember the only issues with switching to LED's vs other lighting were the distances -- for get about distance's you used with other lighting - follow the "directed" light levels at first to see how your plants react - the you can "twit" the distances -
