well as promised i took the cabinet apart today...only took about a half hour w/ the screwdriver bit on the drill, and cut all the caulk.

i just gotta box up the lamps and then it all goes into storage until im in a place where i can use it again.

it'll be far easier to set back up than it was to initially build. (remember i designed it and built it to be easy to disassemble and put back together)

anyway here is how the cabinet looks this afternoon:

So sad to see the cab go down!

:violin:

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the harvests you got out of there. I am about to start assembling my cab and I'm definitely glad that I stumbled across this thread. Can't wait to see you get it set back up!

Cheers! :rasta:

Great box! I am getting things together for my Ngb. Was planing on having it up and running by the 1st of feb. but am moving in about 2-3 months(buying new house) so figured best to wait to see what works best at new location. I have read this thread many times and like alot of what I see, so I will be borrowing a few things from you and a few others.

Totally awesome. :jawdrop: I've been reading this thread for the past few days and without a doubt, this one has been the most helpful.

I speak for many of us, when I say - THANK YOU. Keep up the good work! I'm sure I'll be posting some questions to you in the future when I begin my cab!

Just a quick update:

I got the cab all sealed up and door hardware and cabinet locks installed.

I decided to hinge and lock the utility room door for easier access.

I used 2 locks on the flower room door (top and bottom). Makes it more secure, plus seals it up really tight.

Can you provide some more details about how you installed the locks?

From your pics early on in your post, it looks like you have the 1x2 installed so that they are laying flat on each side of the wall separating the mother and flower chambers...

Did you have to do some interesting drilling to install those locks?

Perhaps you could provide some pics of the area that the locking mechanism actually attaches to the separating wall.

I'm kind of confused...

i didnt document the lock install because it was done after the cab was put together.

its easy to do, and tho i had the framing on the doors i did have chisel a bit of the frme height out so the lock would clear.

the locks i used are just simple file cabinet locks avail. cheap at any hardware store.

the best advice i can give is to go buy one of the locks and mess around with it so u see how it works, and go look at a file cabinet w/ one installed and mess around with that...it will make more sense that way.

my cabinet only has the floor ceiling and back on it right now, so i cant take any pics that will help.

heres an older pic from the thread that might help tho.
