NOKUY, Do you have any pictures showing how you mounted your lights in those tubes? How to keep them centered and still allow air flow?

Sorry to bother you with this ?, but I couldn't find the anwser reading through the thread. So perhaps when you have the time you'd be able to fill me in on what size pine sheeting you used.
I've built so many of these boxes over the years it sickens me to think about it! Every last one of them was just as nice as a finly hand crafted peice of furniture, but I've never gone the route with using a frame. I've always thought about it because of the cost savings that come with it. In the past I end up using the 3/4" birch, but the prices of that shit latly is gone through the roof! If I had to guess i'd say your sheeting is 3/8" maybe. Be even better if you were to tell me it was 1/4" ;)
Thx bud! I'll show you mine when I'm completed. Luckly I have some help from a bud who happens to be a cabinet maker by trade. Lots of pointers.
Thx again.

if the pics arent in the thread then prolly not....you could check thru my gallery tho...i dont have much time right now.

but to explain it is simple.

...i used a section of "tailpipe hanger" get at any auto parts store....it's just a strip of sheet metal w/ continious holes so you can customize the fit.

fasten a small piece that is a bit longer than the diameter of the duct piece. ....bend it and fasten any way u want ...i used a cpl screws and sum liquid nails

...and mount the socket to that it's simple.

"breeder"...yeah i used 3/8 inch , but no reason that 1/4'' wouldent work the same......in my neck of the woods 3/8" is often cheaper than 1/4" tho

Hey NOKUY, great thread man. I just finished building my own NGB box today. I ripped alot of your design tho man, hope you don't mind. I was looking at the pics of your locks and i really liked them; very clean and secure looking. Anyway, do you mind sharing what type of locks you used on your box? Thanks a bunch for all the great info. Them plants are looking downright tasty.

well as promised i took the cabinet apart today...only took about a half hour w/ the screwdriver bit on the drill, and cut all the caulk.

i just gotta box up the lamps and then it all goes into storage until im in a place where i can use it again.

it'll be far easier to set back up than it was to initially build. (remember i designed it and built it to be easy to disassemble and put back together)

anyway here is how the cabinet looks this afternoon:
