Mmm. Wild duck is so tasty. They are safe until duck season. Those two are probably nested up in the creek nearby. Hope they make lots of little ducklings!

I drove by a neighbor's shed before sunrise this morning.

They had a 1000 watt MH or equiv. LED blazing away, 50 yards from the main road.

No big deal. Just nice to see someone going for it.

In most suburban areas, a grow like that left un-attended would not be a good idea.

I'm always amazed at what some of my neighbors get away with, stuff I wouldn't try. Three of them run 40-100 full term outdoor plants with a couple hoop houses on the property doing deps.
We are in the country but not deep in the sticks, grows are easily seen from the road, no real effort to hide them. Total outdoor ban county. In three years they never have been hassled.

dang! don't wanna elaborate but I just shagged a trespasser off my driveway, fighting w/his gf, both of them screaming @ each other over the shitty thumpthumpthump of his stupid bass beat stereo. When I stepped outside to tell him to shitcan the music I got cussed at & threatened to get a beatin' if I didn't mind my own business, imagine that, on my own property. I can understand pulling over to duke it out w/your gf, but loud music (shitty music) on my driveway @ 2:45am just ain't gonna fly.

So I let the big dog out, it barked twice in his general direction & in his haste to leave he backed into a sign and tore up my lawn; I recognized the car, he'll be paying for lawn repairs. As for me??? I haven't broken any laws, just a little tcb.

sometimes I think the Drug War has an Age-ist aspect.

Most of the people who NEED to grow are younger, without a lot of job prospects (at least job prospects that don't involve killing people, the US military is always hiring.)

The people who arrest them are also younger.

The people who vote to keep the laws in place - tend to be older.

I notice a similar thing at the coffee place - younger people doing the serving, older people doing the drinking & tipping.

Anyway, I was talking with one older grower at a local large grow supply. 40+ years grow experience.

He said he thought the smaller plant limits are not rigidly enforced.

Though one note about LEO - it is erratic.

e.g. Operation Green Merchant, which unfolded Oct. 26, 1989. It involved sub-poena'ing UPS records from grow stores. A lot of people were arrested.

How it got started ... earlier in the year, President Bush was in Colombia scolding the Colombian's for growing all that cocaine. (obviously a farce, given Bush's history, but anyway).

So Bush came home and sent American troops into Humboldt & Mendocino.

Yes, LEO might leave you alone for years.

Then some politician might get a bug up their ass and BINGO ... bad news.

In general, I think it's best to keep your plant count down so that "total plants that are easy to see" are within the legal limit.

I don't think the smaller plant counts are the first to be messed with either, just depends on your neighbors really, and they have to decide for themselves if it's worth not getting along over some plants. Massive numbers makes that riskier if the neighbors are close.

We have a very anti weed sheriff, major douchebag, but they only have so many hours in the day to fuck with people and statistically it's worth it to go for it within some reason.
Up until about four years ago one of the higher ups at the dea in this district owned a house about 250 yards from one of these outdoor grows at the end of the road. He didn't live full time there, it was an inherited home and apparently he didn't want to sell it.

This dea guy went over to the grower with the most plants to talk about something unrelated, but eventually told him he didn't have anything to worry about, they were after 1,000+ count gardens. The guy was medical, growing for a collective, so he wasn't that worried.
Still, some twighlight zone shit if you ask me, glad he finally sold that house.

If the main reason for fights breaking out is ditch water rights/disputes.

If your traffic consists of deer, cattle or elk.

If you wake up to coyote howling at night.

If you have peace of mind, for the most part.
