It was written that colloidal silver goes to the entire plant, even if it is given only to a part of the plant (It is absorbed by 'foliar feeding' and spread to the entire plant - correct me if I am wrong).

Excuise the self-qoute
I observed CS acts locally at the site of application and not transported to the un-sprayed parts of the plant, leaving their female sex,
those female flowers were pollinated with feminized pollen obtained in a previous CS-session from another plant.

just a quick question.. I have run my silver for about 8 hours and i noticed that the water kind of looks a little greyish, is that normal? I am sure someone has asked this before and the answer is somewhere in this thread, but 67 pages is a lot to look threw.. I did see that pheno said that it will stain your glass that you do it in so i am sure that it is supposed to change color. I did read online something about being just a touch yellow is the best, but im thinking that is for human use and i know plants need a higher ppm.
one other question, not something i intended to do, but i feel it may be useful to know so i feel i should ask, over time the water loses it charge and the silver no longer remains afloat. what if you were to just put your silver back into the water as if to start the whole thing over again but only ran it for like a half hour or something to re charge the water, would the old silver then start to re float?

I have one minor/major problem.
I have constructed a CS generator like ScrubNinja made using silver wire and a output adapter DC9V 500mA.
I let it generate for 12 hours and I get a reading of 18 ppm.
When I let it generate for 24 hours, the reading is the same. The meter has been calibrated and I am using distilled water and pure silver wire. You say in your article that you are looking for 30 ppm. Can someone please tell me what I am doing incorrectly? It's driving me crazy.

Have a read.

silvertheosulphate???

silvertheosulphate???

Are there advantages of colloidal silver as apposed to silvertheosulphate? What would they be?

How long can you store the colloidal silver if done in complete darkness?

Thanks to anyone who has any answers......

Peace

Well just for starters, colloidal silver is inexpensive, non-toxic, easy to procure or make yourself ... the same cannot be said for silver theosulphate unfortunately :)

btw I just noticed this thread has now surpassed 1000 replies!!! I'd like to personally thank everyone who has contributed to this thread, especially those who've posted pics of their colloidal silver generators and the tips and tricks they learnt along the way - this has been one massive learning experience, and we've ALL benefited as a result!!! ROCK N RIZZOLL!!!!! :)

well wish me luck im going to get the stuff to make me a CS gen tomorow since i just got my fem seeds from the single seed center. this way i wont have to re-order any of these strains again lol

ok today i cashed my check and been calling around to jewelers and coin shops in my general area and none of them deal with pure silver and i was like wtf. so now my question is will sterling silver do the trick to create CS? PLZ reply i am kind of worried since i can't order pure silver from the internet, and really would like to preserve the strains that i currently own. TY for any help possible.

I just finished reading the entire thread and I have two questions.

Can I use .925 silver?
Should I smoke the weed that got sprayed?

Just kidding.
Amazing thread.

I have been thinking about making seeds for a while.
Some outdoor questions to come after a few bong hits.

Good on you Pheno. :tiphat:

I would appreciate any tips from anyone that has done fem seeds outside.

I am in a med state and can grow outside at a friend's place.

Plan A:

I would like to do an autoflower batch, started early in the Spring.
I have 3 different autos. I can make a mini greenhouse that gets decent sun for late April. I can probably start them inside.

How much earlier should I start the plants that are to be males?

I will keep one male that will live with the other three so I know exactly what I am getting.

I figure they could be done by July and probably not affect the other, regular plants - Plan 2

Plan 2

Plan 2

Plan 2

Any tips or feedback from anyone who has produced fem seeds outside would be appreciated.

I'll have about 8 plants from clone in the ground. I could get clones and put them in buckets or go from seed.

I was thinking of keeping the clones to go male in buckets in the shade to keep them small. They would be in a small area designed to not allow much pollen out, away from the other plants. I would collect the pollen then dust some lower branches on the in the ground plants.

If I can get my girls pollinated by the first week of September, that would give them at least 5 weeks to grow seeds. If the weather cooperates the plants can go all through October. I picked a Haze November 11th one year.

So when should I start spraying? I usually see signs of flowering in early August, so maybe start spraying in the middle of July?

After reading this thread, I feel very confident I can pull this off.

I also plan on trying to keep some pollen from Plan A to swipe on a couple plants.

yeah most likely too strong ..

"simply let it run overnight (12-24 hours) and you're done!"

I'm not sure if there is such a thing as "too strong" ... maybe there is, I'm not sure, but personally I doubt it. Plus, you can generally only make CS up to about 60ppm anyway

What, roughly, are the ideal specs for the power supply to make a good batch? High watts, low amps or the opposite? From memory it seems that lower amperage higher wattage produces smaller particles - is that right. I assume smaller particles are more effective. Is that silverwell unit really worth the money or should I build my own? I'm not as concerned about cost as I am about quality and ease of use.

PhenoMenal - thanks again for this great thread.

BTW, I talked to someone at silverwell in Australia who pointed me to the manufacturer in the US: http://www.silverpuppy.com
