Yayyy! My first colloidal silver generator (photo)

I have found it best only to spray 2-3 times over a 3week periode and not every day becourse i had a plant that got Imune after doing so. So i spray one week before the 12/12 switch then one week after 12/12 switch then after a week you should see the balls but i spray again becourse if i dont the sacks sometimes will be without pollen.

OK, I just bought 2 silver coins on ebay (at $3 each, I thought it was more expensive!) so I'll be doing this asap.

I also just planted 6 regular autos, which I plan on mixing to get regular seeds. However, my next round, I want to fem some...is it OK to wait until I see some signs of sex to start spraying? Obviously it'll be a little late by the time I gather my pollen, but I can save it for a third run, no? I've seen many people asking, but no real straight answers about how to do it with autos (except starting with 2 already femmed seeds, but that defeats the purpose.)

Bro, The cost of "real" silver is VERY HIGH right now so $3 a coin just can't be right.

A 1964 quarter (.25C) thats only 90% silver is around $10.

I got some .9999 pure silver wire pieces for around $40 or $50 but it was the top end stuff.

Just a heads up, using the wrong metals could go very bad.

you can find .999 grams of silver for ~$3/ea with shipping.. they're not technically coins but i'd call em a coin :) last time i checked silver was > $30/oz. which makes a gram (~1/28th oz.) worth a little more than a buck, so $3 is probably okay to avoid the fuss and bother of dealing for it.

isn't it pre-'64 quarters that are 90%, eg. '63, or you're saying the 64s are silver as well?

You could also try at a jewlery shop. Not one where they only sell jewlery, but one where they make the rings and stuff. Or better still, one of the supplyers (the jewler should know an adress for you).
I got a strip of silver, 1cm wide, 10cm long and about 1mm thick. This was at a suplyer for jewlers. It was about 1 year ago but i think a payed about 3 Euro's for it.
Base material is always cheaper then coins or rings or something.
I've been using it for a year now and i think i can easily use it for 5 more years before I need a new piece.

This.

I coulda bought little "nuggets" of silver and melted my own to save a few bucks, but the coin had a cool dragon stamped on it :greenstars:

Haha, so has anyone successfully done this with an auto? I know breeders obviously have, but I'm looking for someone with personal experience.

Oisterboy you msg'd me in regards to this... I wish I could help you out, but no I've never used CS on an autoflowering plant before.

However, I see absolutely no reason why this wouldn't work on an AF, although figuring out when to apply your first application of CS may be trickier than normal.

Oisterboy.
I've done a Lowrider, Lowrider#2, Dutch Automatic and BCN Diesel automatic.
All of these gave me a big pile of female seeds, works like a charm, only the BCN didn't want to flower on 18/6. So i'm a little in doubt that that was a true automatic.

Thanks for the replies!

I currently have 4 autos started...I'm hoping for a male and a female in that 4. If I get an extra female, I'll 100% be spraying her and saving the pollen for my next run (and maybe getting the branches of some of my bagseed...)

I'll be making my generator later on today, I will post pictures :] I just have to figure out a way to punch holes in these coins...

Just keep in mind that pollen doesn't stay viable for too long, you want to use it ASAFP!

Headbandf1 - even before you make seeds with it, it's just fun going back in time to science class huh? :)

I have one minor/major problem.
I have constructed a CS generator like ScrubNinja made using silver wire and a output adapter DC9V 500mA.
I let it generate for 12 hours and I get a reading of 18 ppm.
When I let it generate for 24 hours, the reading is the same. The meter has been calibrated and I am using distilled water and pure silver wire. You say in your article that you are looking for 30 ppm. Can someone please tell me what I am doing incorrectly? It's driving me crazy.

I just wonder about one thing. It was written that colloidal silver goes to the entire plant, even if it is given only to a part of the plant (It is absorbed by 'foliar feeding' and spread to the entire plant - correct me if I am wrong). And there is also a need for spraying it over the plant for week, or longer to be sure.

Have anyone tried to put a small part of a plant under constant (not spraying only once a day) contact with CS liquid? For example - dipping one big leaf into CS in dark container for the whole week? Does it make any sense to You? Is it worth trying? May it kill the plant (overdose)?
