Why do the most popular varieties come from American breeders?

Is cannabis native to the US? No it's not so the genetics came from elsewhere, the strains were created in the US and brought to Europe, i said Cheese was a British strain not that it was British genetics.

Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension before you start calling people geniuses. :jerkit:

You should go smoke the distant relatives of the popular strains that have not been worked several generation to lock in the terps and cannbinoid profile that make them popular. And not the current version bred in the US. By your definition all the popular strain at one point likey came out of africa.

I think the two countries that smoke the most per capita are the U.S. and Australia. It's just more people doing it. It being growing and breeding plants. There also was a history proximity to shipping lanes. Alcohol prohibition encouraged making use of Cannabis and the luck of geography. Great seed stock was shipped from S.E. Asia through an overland route near Acapulco to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. I believe Thailand and S.E. Asia strains were the pinnacle of Cannabis breeding. The trade routes allowed weed from Mexico and Jamaica to be world class. The Mexican culture put it's own stamp on the genetics and was special in it's own right. Same with Jamaica who had lots of indentured servants from India where another great Cannabis culture existed. Some of that culture and genetics, i.e. Haze, have stuck to strains to this day, although it is now being crowded out by too much indica, IMHO.

Hi; Im not agree: Holland have a so much worse weather than California. The right reasons was the past Ducht laws about cannabis. Now that California n other places have better cannabis laws than in their past, Holland is loosin it leadership in the cannabis scene.
Salud.

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the legal climate.

I know the weather is not conducive to growing tropical plants.

The genes originated outside the US, but the strains are US creations, just as the Phenos that emerged of Skunk 1 in the UK are British!

America is NOT the USA.
The USA is NOT America.

America is inclusive of all the land amassed in the western hemisphere from the north to the south, Canada to Chile, along with a few islands along those coasts.
I don't know what the OP was referencing.

Specifics/details are important for clarification of the subject matter being discussed.

DUH!!!!

Canadians always like to pretend they are part of the US, but they are not. Canadians have a queen that make them speak French and bow down to the royal family.

If Canadians really wanted to be part of America we would help them but they have to help themselves first.

YOUR comprehension of the English language is extremely limited. Your posts make it obvious.

Your opinion isn't even related to the topic!

This is NOT a discussion about WHERE shit comes from it's about WHY AMERICAN BREEDS ARE POPULAR!

Your are not offering "CLARIFICATION!" outside of your own mind.

I think your internet post count is going to your head. Try some fresh air, outside away from the keyboard.

When I saw the thread title my first thought was USA. Certainly there’s North and South America but the intent seemed to mean USA.

Don't worry, Borat will return to the US and A and then he will probably shoot more than the Red Indians.

This time I think he shoot all the Evil knitwits with Great Success.

Well aren't you all that and a bag of chips. But where'd you get the silly notion that we pretend to be American? In fact it's Americans who like to pretend they're Canadian with the Canadian flag on their backpack and jacket when they travel.

But it's all good. When Trump implements the draft for the war he'll need to boost his approval ratings, you're welcome to visit for 20+ years.

And we bow to no one. Not God, Not Allah, not a Queen, and certainly not to your King.
