Let's see the progress! :artist:

Alright then. Took these last night but was too far gone to post until now. Sorry for the HPS glow in some of the pictures. I was wanting some second opinions on how far away the light should be from my canopy too. I had read that 24" was a good distance for a 1k and that's what I have it at now but if I can keep the canopy temperatures cool enough should I bother getting the light closer or would it just be wasted extra light at that point because I'm already in a smallish tent for a 1k? I would appreciate any advice here, thanks. All pics were from last night (Day 19)

Supposed to be picture of the Banana Kush but I kind of missed it so Herijuana on the left and BK on the right. Goofy looking flowers on the HJ is spots where I FIMed and the BK is just starting to show some purple on the fan leaves, hard to tell in this picture.

I've currently got my lamp (albeit a 400W) literally 1" above the tallest top. I'm running my lights-on during nighttime, so temps rarely top 73, even just under the hood. YMMV with the 1000W'er, but just some reference for ya.

Things are looking fantastic wdi, but one word of caution: Keep an eye on things in your garden - I'm having similar concerns with my setup right now.

When things get packed to the gills like that, airflow can become a real issue. I noticed a spot of PM on my Purple Mr. Nice last night. Nothing major, but enough to remind me that I need to keep a watchful eye. I spent the next 30 minutes selectively defoliating - which wasn't in my plans or my MO, but I felt the need to really be vigilant about airflow.

And the other challenge I'm finding, with something as crammed as mine and yours are, it makes it more tough in general to keep a watchful eye on what's going on in there. I've found it best to take out each plant every couple days or so, and just take it out into the MH/room/sunlight and inspect it. When things are so tight, it can be tough to inspect in the tent. Add the yellow from the HPS, it's not the easiest. :)

Lookin' good dude - I'm in it 'til you finish 'round here, so let's go! :dance013:

:good:

EDIT: In re: airflow, I've currently got a 12" on the floor in the center of the tent, on High, blowing straight up. Two more 8" fans in opposite corners, just above the canopy, blowing down on to it. Just for reference, again. It ain't like there's no circulation going on in there..

YMMV with the 1000W'er, but just some reference for ya. I run my light as well to help combat temps and it works out perfectly. The reason I was so concerned with the distance is because I can certainly get it closer but as you can see, the plants hardly stretched at all after the switch so I was thinking that they were just fine with where it was. I didn't know if I could or should push it and get it closer to the canopy. What does YMMV mean too?

Nothing major, but enough to remind me that I need to keep a watchful eye. I spent the next 30 minutes selectively defoliating - which wasn't in my plans or my MO, but I felt the need to really be vigilant about airflow. I feel like my airflow is pretty good. The intake is a duct booster fan that shoots air into the tent right level with the tops of the pots and I have that clip on fan blowing across the canopy. If this were a more humid area I could see this being a problem but humidity around here is so low that neither of my thermometer/humidy gauges can even read it. One says "Low" and the lowest figure it will register is 20% and the other one bottomes out and won't ever go lower than 16%. You wouldn't happen to know what conditions PM can live at do you?

And the other challenge I'm finding, with something as crammed as mine and yours are, it makes it more tough in general to keep a watchful eye on what's going on in there. Add the yellow from the HPS, it's not the easiest. :) This is a very good idea as well and I try to do it at least once a week. That's how I found the hermie flowers popping out last grow before they could start screwing stuff up. I'm holding my breath with my fingers crossed that this won't happen again this grow as I'm not quite sure what caused it last time.

There isn't any more floorspace available for all the pots in there but I at least have that little clip on fan, I guess I could always go for another one of those if I thought it was a problem

Thanks for all the input and sticking your head in here.

Everything is looking good!Just wondering if you vent your reflector and what your temp/humidity is in your cab.IMHO 2' over the canopy is fine.I have zero experience with cab grows;but it seems keeping heat under control could be a challenge.Especially with a 1k.

I have a duct booster fan for the intake and a 6" vortex fan for the exhaust. I have an air cooled hood and I can keep temps in the low to mid 70s by simply cracking a the window in the room 'cause it's that time of year now. Humidity is nonexistent, like I was just saying in the previous post so low that neither of my two gauges will read anything. Thanks for the input.

Everything is looking great WDI. Regarding how close u can get a 1K to ur plants, well i've got mine a bit over a foot(40cm) above but it's in a 6inch cooltube. Thats in a space of 1.6mx1.5mx1.8m.

What's up with all ya'll? I was pulling all the girls out and rearranging them throughout the tent and I figured I would snap some more pictures, side shots and canopy if you will. Especially without the HPS glowing too. If you notice the yellow leaves I already topdressed with N guano at 1 tablespoon/plant last watering. Hopefully that will take care of the problem. Dropped the light 2" to 22" from the canopy, we'll see how that goes.

ur garden is looking good mate, the yellowing in the very most lower leaves is normal, i wouldnt add to much N otherwise it might make them start to stretch again. just saying ur ladies are looking wonderfull. and it ur worried about PM due to lack of airflow u can always clean up some of that underbrush that isnt really needed. if u dont have any issue with PM dont worrie about it :) and what i have been told about Hid lighing (1000K's).... lower down the light while its on, with ur hand at the top of the canopy. once it get uncomfortable to the back of ur hand, then raise it till it feels good. the closer u can get it the better it will help ur lower buds get more light. 24-26" is really high off the canopy IMHO especialy since u have an air cooled hood. that is just my opinion but i would get it as close as u can :)

Today is day 25 so hopefully I'm 1/3 the way through flowering now *fingers crossed*. Managed to snap a picture right before the lights came on but it didn't make much difference in terms of quality compared to the hps eyes of allah. If ya'll have any questions or comments then shoot.

I moved some of the colas around on some of the plants so if you notice some buds with a weird angle or gangstah lean then you know why.
