They look nice and healthy, just let em keep doing their thing.... they will fatten up my friend!

Don't worry, im sure they will swell even more! Conditions ect can mean different flowering times, even for the same plant, but im sure you know that! :) A couple of weeks and my bet will be they have fattened up significantly.

Thanks again for the input everybody. This time I thought to throw a lighter in the picture for size reference. Things are going along pretty good still. Getting frosty and smelly. Seeing some ambers popping up on a few of the girls but I'm ignoring that for the most part. Banana Kush is really kicking off the colors now. Ranging from purple to red, orange, yellow, and green. Really a pretty thing to see. The Purple Voodoo is getting darker and spreading that color all over too. 12/2/11 is day 47 of flowering. Here are the girls and thanks for sticking your head in here.

Ya'll have a good one, if you have any comments then chime in.

Were your plants roughly the same size and vitality going in to flower both rounds? There's so many variables to compare x day to x day, but I get what you're saying. A watched pot never smokes... er... yeah. :watchplant: Do you have a 1000 w bulb in use at all? If not well.... yeah, that. This pic is sooo purrdy! Those look like frosty tasty buds to me!

.....sigh. Yes, I'm using the 1000 right now for flowering. Been using it the whole cycle. The plants this round were just as healthy going into flower this cycle as they were last time. I vegged for 2.5 weeks or so longer this time too. There are alot of different variables this time for sure. Way colder night time temperatures, usually in the low to mid 50's with canopy temps in the mid to high 70's with the light on. This is also a small tent to be running a 1k so it's harder to maintain the temperature swings (only 3x3). Intake situation isn't ideal at all either. NO humidity to speak of, and when I say that I mean somewhere around 5% probably. I know I'm going on a tangent but I'm kind of running through my head all the things that need to be improved upon. It's disheartening to see some of these girls just not doing what I think they should be but I know that they still have 3+ weeks to go for some of them and maybe they'll fill out some more. I'm happy that some of these girls, BK and PV especially, are getting really frosty. I'm already trying to plan for next round and improve on where I messed up. So if any of ya'll see obvious fuck ups on my part then please chime in as I'm trying to get everything lined up for next round. A couple of things though, I have no leeway in terms of power for the room due to one circuit for the whole room so I have no interest in getting a humidifier going. It would be cool however if I run an extension cord or something in a sneaky manner into the room though. I would like to get a better intake situation going as well rather than the stupid duct booster fan, I think it already took a shit, I'm thinking another 6" vortec inline. Also a bigger tent would be sweet, maybe a 4x4 or 5x5. With a 5x5 I would have the option of doing a vertical scrog if I ever wanted to but I digress.

Sorry for the longwinded post but I'm just typing crap out as my mind is rambling along. :bashhead:

well I'm no expert, but I can give you something to chew on... instead of spending time with ducting etc... look in to your soil mix... I dont worry about pH at all, its a thing of the past for some of us. my first question is have you used an act before? apologies if you've mentioned that already. I have found if I take care of my soil, my soil takes care of my plants for me, here's 46 days in a living soil garden using 5 gallon buckets that you mentioned you were interested in. Come on, I'm some random chick who just happens to be good at following instructions. You can do this too, or turn your little tent in to a no-till bed. Heres my first grow at 46 days~

are you confined to a tent? If that is the case then you don't have room for wuss plants... looks like your bubblegum is the winner. Next time, run half that and half of your next best perhaps. My little saying goes like this "f**k the dumb shit" ramble away, brainstorming should have no restrictions be open to trying something new or give a random person reading your ramblings a great idea to share with you. my one initial thought is....work on your soil?? They're not that bad, quit beating yourself with a sledge hammer ;)

p.s. and much longer veg like heady or someone was saying. A little extra time invested in veg is waaaay worth it, and it looks like you're set on a quick veg. be open to a longer veg time and you will be greatly rewarded!

Thanks for sticking your head in again. I'm realizing that I probably messed around with training them too much too....I don't know. Not gonna full around with them as much next round either. I need to remember that I have a 1k and don't need to get cute with training like I would with the 400. The light will actually penetrate down and reach more budsites. I am using 5 gallon buckets with FFOF soil unamended with all organic bio bizz nutes. I intermittently use ACT's and was actually going to make another one for this next watering. I also vegged for 5 weeks so I figured that was a decent amount of time. That's why I'm thinking that the weird temperature swings and low temperatures when the light is off is probably screwing me pretty bad in hindsight. The micro herd isn't probably kicking around so hard when the containers are around 50 degrees F. I'm also confined to a tent as I live in an apartment. As far as next grow and the genetics that I will most likely be able to choose from the list of clones is,

AK48, Alaskan Ice, Big Bud Blueberry, Brainstorm Haze, Bubblegum, Budda's Sister, California Orange, Cherry Lime AK, G13, Grapefruit, Island Sweet Skunk, Jillybean, Lambsbread, Lime Green Skunk, Maui Waui, Mr. Nice, Purple Voodoo, Romulan, Triple Diesel, White Widow

As far as temperatures go maybe I can get a warm humidifier and slap it in the tent and only turn it on during lights off. (Provided I do get a bigger tent) Thanks again greendreamz, anybody else have any info to chime in with? Who has experience with using those warm humidifiers and how much ability do they have to actually heat a tent as well as raise humidity?

hello who dat!

i am sorry your grow doesnt turn out the way you expect.
but lets be honest (nothing else will help), its really a pitty.
1000w and this outcome?
well, no whining.
lets stay where its at.

1. cold temps: plants growing in too cool environments stay small, in order to protect against the cold. its a stress and not necessary!
preheat and humidify your intake!

2. too low humidity: are you serious, humidity stay below 30%?.. well, thats impossible to grow successfully. its another stressfactor.

3. 1000w, a great thing, but only if the plant can make use of it and the balance between light, food and air is satisfying.. otherwise.. another stressfactor!!

solve 1 and 2, move your light to at least 50 cm distance from canopy, and get ready for a decent harvest..

you can certainly have a very successful grow with humidity under 30 %... impossible??? hardly.

i do agree with MGD, the soil is important... everything really, but to be fair, she has one of the best teachers on the boards around here. ( i am jealous mgd, i think ive mentioned that before lol) i cant say enough good about a solid amended organic soil, its the only way for me, and you will get better at it every round.

i think you need to simplify your training, 5 weeks should be plenty of time to fill that canopy out, maybe try just fimming or topping or supercropping. i only fim/supercrop my girls, and 14 days in a 4" and another 10 in their 3gals is enough to fill my canopy out nicely.

imo, youve got the genetics, so soil and training should be your main focus points, followed by temps and humidity. out of the strains you listed, if your worried about weight i would go with the romulan. ive never ran it personally, but it has a hell of a reputation.

what is your intake situation? im thinking you draw it in from outside maybe, otherwise you prob wouldnt have the temp/RH issues, could you draw it from the room the tent is in?

as far as your current run, they look ok, and will swell up a little more im sure, but yeah, maybe not where they should be for a 1k. it will be better the next round, select your favs (that bubblegum does look good) and they will almost certainly perform better for you. ive ran the same cut several times in a row with it improving every round, there is hope for sure.

of course, all of this is just my two cents. im not a pro by any means but youve seen my thread. just weighing in...

There is alot of solid info in here and constructive criticism that is going to help me next round. I really appreciate everybody's input. I've always been one to learn the hard way. This will be a thread about what NOT to do, haha :moon:

Damn man, hadnt noticed you upgraded to 1k! Im sorry you didnt get what you hoped for then :( Next time though!

Do you have a hygrometer to measure RH? 5 % sounds really low, if not impossible, for an area containing plants. Or so I would think at least :)

I think the training will still improve your yield, but the 1000w will definately penetrate more, so you could arguably grow the plants larger(taller) and have it shine through and still get dense nugs.

All things aside, the plants still look so yummy, the colours are just beautiful.

Thanks guffetrold.

Greendreamz and nameless - I was always turned off to the idea of mixing up some crazy super soil because I thought there was a lot involved with it but I've been spending some time searching and reading up on it and it doesn't seem nearly as daunting now. I would love to do that for this next round and was wondering if you guys could steer me in the right direction for reading up on this stuff. I've been reading the stickies in the organics forum but haven't seen much yet past the moonshine mix. I love both of you guys diaries and respect your opinions. Any info you have about soil mixes I would love to hear. Thanks.

pm sent!

i used to feel the same way about amending my soil. i eased in to organics by weaning myself off the bottle first, (still love the Earth Juice tho) then just developing a feel for the soil... its really pretty simple, just remember to cook your soil. personally i usually add a little less than i feel like i need, esp with lime and blood meal, and supplement if its required. that combined with the teas youve been messing around with would suit your gals right nicely i do declare!

Thanks bud. I'm trying to read up and figure all this out so I would have time to "cook" the soil right now for next round as the this one is finishing up.

If you google 'super soil' you will come up with a couple of recipes. I am getting ready to mix up another batch. Like cooking there a lot of variations.

Real fast update. I haven't been to preoccupied with checking the trichomes on the girls and have just started to pay more attention. The bubblegum has 75% amber trichomes and there is even some black ones here and there. So I think it's damn near time for that broad to come down. I would have said follow the, "when you think it's done, wait a week" but with them being almost all amber then tomorrow night or possibly friday night for the chop? Next farthest along would be the herijuana and strawberry cough around 35% ambers. Both the Banana Kush and Purple Voodoo have around 5-10% ambers and then Headband had no ambers and mosly cloudy trichomes. Interesting enough the HJ has started to purple as well and the BK looks like it's starting to get purple trichome stalks. Today is day 52 of flower and last feeding was 10 days ago. This past watering was an ACT and the next watering after that will be plain water.
