Mibri: What temperature are you calibrating the meter at? My calibration fluid is 1413us/cm @ 77F (25C) but drops to 776 @ 0C/32F and rises to 1575 @ 31C/87.8F. You should be doing ALL meter calibrations @ 75F/24C for correct calibration unless the meter has built in temperature offsets in the program of the meter. bring the meter and fluid in you house over night and calibrate after 4-5 hrs so the fluid temperature can stabilize. I'm betting that's your problem cause your grow is in a detached shed/garage right?
Hi Crazy. Thanks, bro. Good guess, but my meter does have the temp. offsets. I think it is as if it's getting more steady after being in water for some days now. Maybe some layer of something solulable has beed soluted.

Or some of the water evaped out of the solution making it stronger.......

shake the bottle/sachet well and be sure temp of fluid is 75-78F (24-26C) for the BEST possible results

Hi Guys
70s - Yes, I know he's not crazy. Only crazy thing is his nice grow cabinets.
Tx, Crazy. I'll try and calibrate it again with the warm solution. My plants are getting much nicer, and think they'll be put to flower now. They're 2 months old now and definately mature. They're about 50 cm, so i gues i'll be having some nice big fat buds hopefully. Stems are about 1/2". Just would like to put the Jacks in there too, but need to be able to take those clones before, and they're not quite ready even thought they're 1month old now. Maybe in a week.

I'm beginning to see a sativa dominated Jack, by the way. Hoping it will be a girl. I'm allready working on my list to Santa this year. Here it is in random order;
Amnesia Haze
Neville's Haze
Sour Bubble
Ed Rosenthal's Super Bud
Super Silver Haze

Hi there,
Forgive me if this has already been covered but I had a hell of a time with a pH meter once which was displaying on the meter as a calibration problem but was infact totally cured by replacing the batteries, it was an Adwa (203 or 204?). It is one of the most overlooked problems with handheld meters believe it or not.

I'm lookin forward to seeing your Jacks btw, it's a strain I particularly like myself :yummy: . I've had the pleasure of growing regular J.Herer, J.H x Afghan, J.H x HashPlant and J.H x W.Rhino, the latter I still have seeds for.

Like I say, forgive me if the battery thing has already been mentioned, I should have read through more thoroughly before posting.

Regards, Esskie

Where do u buy that Neville, Crazy? I changed the batterys in the meters, Ess. That was a lot of Jacks, you've been growing.
I put the widows in the flowerroom today.
The rainwater from the roof sucks, by the way. That's just an algae machine. Im gonna use the tapwater instead.

Neville's Haze was originally a Greenhouse Seed company offering bred by Neville himself. Neville took the parents for this cross and Shanti took his parents for SSH when they left GHSco in the late 90's. If I were to get a Neville's Haze offering it'd be from Mr. Nice seedbank and produced by Neville for Shanti or something that could be proven damn close to the original by a well respected grower..

You could make a slow sand filter for the roof runoff and they clean really good, could even add a layer of activated carbon too. Get a 6" length of PVC pipe and end caps. Cut a 4-5 foot (1.5m) section and glue the bottom end cap. Tap a hole in the bottom of the bottom cap for a drain. fill bottom 4-6" with gravel/pebbles and then fill the rest of the tube with sand. Route the runoff through the sand filter and it should clean it up quite a bit...

Hi Crazy. Ok, i'll be getting my Neville's Haze from Mr. Nice, when i get it. That sand filter actually sounds like a great idea. Wont the sand add calcium or something? Probably not, since sand is silica, right?
When do u add ferts to your rooted clones? Also, when can they stand some more lights without being covered?
I'm gonna take some nice pics right away, so u can see the babies. They're getting healthy and big. Jacks are coming along nicely also.

Hi Guys
Here's a little update. I decided to keep the water in the budding room. Put some h2o2 in it, and it looks good now. Also filtered it some more and plants seem to like it a lot.
Here are the Widows. Looking more healthy than ever. Second day in 12/12. Some of them allready have started producing a lot of flowers. Don't know if it's those feminized seeds that does this so fast; The water is ec 1,2

I'll get some macros of them two days buds.

Here are the 11 Jack herers. They look pretty healthy under those cfls. The water ec is about 1,0.

Here's the revegged Northern Lights 5# x Haze male. After and before;

Something for the kitchen;

The bubble cloner i made. Usually there's a lid on. What causes the tops to yellow this much with so healthy looking roots? I figured it could be too little lights? Also, any of u tried putting seeds into one of these? It would be pretty easy to put them in these qubes and very easy to see when sprouting and so on,???

Please answer these questions;
1) When i use an ec-meter. Can i rely on this instead of measuring my ferts? So if ec is low i just add more ferts?
2) When a clones ready to feed? And how strong?
3) How early are clones ready to transplant into pots? :woohoo: :canabis:

Mibri, you want to get the rooted clones on @ 300ppm diet and under bigger lights as soon as you see roots. The reason for using less light in cloning is to slow photosynthesis and give the cutting enough energy to pop roots. Once the cut roots and can absorb nutes you want to get it on a small feeding to prevent it from using anymore stored sugars for food without replacing them. It'll keep your success after rooting up as you'll lose less clones to starvation. It's one of the reasons I quarter the starter RW cubes, smaller cube = I see roots faster.....

^^^Not really, any roots can take in nutes. You just don't want to mix it too strong to burn the fresh roots. A light fert mix can keep the clones from getting any worse from using their stored sugars for foor. Plus the greener it is the faster it'll kick back into veg, so you want to get some food to them. It's more to keep them from getting any worse, not to get them vegging again...

Hm, tx, bro. I'll give them a bit more fert. They definately look like they need it. Looks like all energy is transfered to the roots. And tx for that insight with the ferts preventing them from getting bad using the energy from green to root.
I'll be cloning the 11 Jack Herers and put them to flower one of these days. Just need a couple of the plants to get slightly longer shoots. Can't wait to see them in flower. The Widows are pretty fun to watch now. Really got healthy after getting an ec-read and adding a lot more ferts. They have been waay underfed.

tx, guys. The plants are as healthy as ever. Looks like the rainwater is a really good idea. Even my droopy pheno, that has been drooping since birth is now very nice.
