What you said above, moose eater . Thank you.

You're quite welcome, buzz.

Needing to get off my arse today, stop lamenting the currently lost/failed relationship with my oldest son, & unknowns re. cancer treatment and forward movement in that regard , complete some historical reporting for an attorney, and get those cuttings done. My mothers are so angry with me, they just "Hrrumph!" when I go into the shop, planted there with their metaphorical arms crossed, branches in the 4' LED shop bulbs, and asking each other if there's any vacancies in surrounding grow areas. I suspect I'll need to be extra kind to them until I take the new cuttings, then slit their primary stalks. :)

All these medical pro's who have cut me open in the last 2 years and what does it turn out that I have? a fking HERNIA! Went to a urologist last week who said stand up, drop your drawers, pointed his finger at my lower abdomen, I almost collapsed, he said, you have a hernia and need surgery as soon as possible.
Now had I NOT gone to the urologist I wonder what would have happened if I proceeded with the colorectal surgery they wanted to do instead? Grrrr.
So, eating is something I can dream about........sub sandwiches, steak sandwiches, chinese food.........grilled cheese and bacon......ahhhhhhhhhh!
Coupla weeks I spose

I was craving scallops but they are $25/lb. Fuck that! Same with the tuna. Everything has skyrocketed.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to buy something expensive gasoline.

Good sized, wild-caught, sea scallops here are between $18 and $20/lb. where I shop, but I'm avoiding most unhealthy cholesterol for the moment, including the remainder of the 13-15 count shrimp I have that I was tempted to toss into the remainder of a vegan Thai stir-fry the other day. Overcame the temptation.

Broiled or grilled, marinated sea scallop wrapped in good bacon (with a tooth-pick, of course), is a delectable taste treat from way back, but... can't allow it for now. Though I look at them nearly every time I'm in the stores.

Had a 1/2 of a Texas pink grapefruit, half of an Orgain Chocolate Plant-Based Protein Shake, 20 oz. of moringa tea, 20-oz. of chaga tea, 16+ oz. of black French roast coffee from freshly-ground oily beans, and may follow that up with a few 1/4 or 1/2-hearts of marinated artichoke hearts.

Fresh vegan Thai stir-fry to be made today, in large quantity as usual, to last for 3-4 days, dry-roasted almonds with sea salt, a bitter melon smoothie, another 20-32 oz. more of chaga tea, and maybe some organic dried apricots with smoked almonds for a late day snack.

$18-20 sounds about right, maybe a bit cheaper on occasion. Back when Covid first hit there was a lot of supply and not much demand, so I guess we got spoiled with cheap prices for a while. Now that the restaurants are opened back up and what I'm assuming is supply chain issues and inflation, its not cheap.

As for the bacon wrapped scallops, for such a classic recipe, I'm ashamed to never have prepared it that way. I usually just do a quick sear on a hot skillet..

Chagas a mushroom, right? I just bought some Reishi supplements from Host Defense. I'm not sure if it will do anything or if its a waste of money, but I like playing around with different supplements. Sometimes I just throw multiple things at my health problems and hope something sticks haha.

Baked glazed ham, mashed sweet potatoes with pecans, and sauteed cabbage with bacon. Lemon meringue pie for dessert.

Going to try Spiderwebs, after I wash off the dust.

= Protein. Needs Mayo.

And maybe some Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce.

With bread, a Spider web sandwich.

Celebrated my wife's birthday. no one else home anymore.

Cooked a 4.5 to 5 lb. standing rib roast/prime rib (though it was choice, not prime). Yep, cheated on the vegan diet today.

Had a micro-piece of chocolate cake with a homemade whipped cream, sweetened condensed milk and Dutch cocoa frosting, as well as red rice (small amounts) and a fresh salad with organic romaine lettuce, organic mushrooms, red sweet peppers, and a homemade balsamic vinegar and oil dressing that includes a tiny amount of maple syrup, and lots of black pepper, with a bit less garlic, but a fair bit of garlic, nonetheless.

Chased down with another cup of chaga tea and a bitter melon smoothie.

Can't eat prime rib in the amount I once could. Probably a good thing.

And no one else living here anymore means we get another meal or so from the rib roast. Dulled silver linings.
