I just did a comparison with my father in law between Westvleteren 12 and Sint-Bernardus abt 12. I can say that the rumours are not true. The 2 beers are very different. The only thing they have in common is the color. Smell, taste and after taste are very different. The winner is without doubt Sint-Bernardus Abt 12. This also shows that Westvleteren 12 is very overrated. ( It still holds the numero 1 place in the best beers of the world).

So people don't feel you are missing out because you can't find Westvleteren. It's very overrated. It's even difficult for Belgiums like me to find it.
