I thought about that too, but taking out the Russian Su-27 and the pilot while blaming it on them sounded even better. It would be a good trade and send a message.
hopefully, the pilot could bail. not happening if the Reaper blew up in his face. i bet the drone is cheaper than their fighter planes. good trade...:good:

If a F-35 or two get shot down while flying over the black sea, can Putin say it was the Ukes like xiden is doing with the Nord Stream pipes? oopsie. The Russians rally made fun of this destroyer. The Navy knows better than to mess with the rooskies.

The destroyer turned tail and ran. Half the officers resigned it was reported.

A secret reason for war financing Ukraine?

When discussing the costs of the current conflict between Russia and NATO through the proxy war in Ukraine, the discussion often focuses on the procurement costs of the weapons and ammunition transferred from US and NATO arsenals to the Ukrainian army. These costs have been characterized as follows: "Our [U.S.] total aid to Ukraine from January 24, 2022 to January 15, 2023 is $76.8 billion. [and] $46.6 billion was for military purposes."

In this post, I just want to discuss the $46.6 billion portion. This largely concerns weapons that were purchased decades ago, last about 20 years and are about to leave the US arsenal. When these weapons normally go out of service, they must be demilitarized and disposed of, at a significant cost to the US and its allies.

The important point is that these demilitarization costs are significant. By donating these old and soon-to-demilitarize weapons to Ukraine, the US and its NATO allies avoid these costs.

Delivering expiring and near-expiration weapons to Ukraine avoids demilitarization costs for the US and NATO. In addition, the use of these weapons by the Ukrainian armed forces has brought losses to the Russian armed forces. This was a reasonable strategy when there were large stocks of expired ammunition. Unfortunately, the US and NATO no longer have surplus ammunition.

In the current political climate, there is little support to spend new money on Ukraine's military, and the old money has run out. Expect a change in NATO policy, as continuing to support Ukrainian forces will in fact create new costs through the production of new weapons instead of avoiding costs through demilitarization of old weapons.

The MQ-9 should have pulled up right in front of the Russian Su-27. A quick 50' climb would have solved the problem and the existing video would have put it all on Russia.

Would have, could have, should have but it ended up being fished out of the water and all that fancy tech is now in russian hands.

Be sure they thought about it but didn't have the rocks or the authority to make the move. No doubt there is already a new drone in the air with the authority to defend it's self.

The corruption continues. Xiden is spending almost a billion biden bucks to Slovakia for a dozen worn out old Russian jets. They will be modified to use American missiles, no doubt. And promptly shot down.

I actually want to see some F-35s get shot down over the Black Sea so the rooskies can pluck one of them off the sea floor. See what tweedle dumb and tweedle dee do about it. America has no business in this conflict. BTW, Turkey isn't letting warships in, so the little pond is all Putin's.

A desperate broke, corrupt, illegitimate government in it's last throes.

Not really. Poland also is giving Mig 29s. No surprise, Russian fighters are all the Ukrainian Air Force know how to fly. Former Soviet country, right. New NATO and EU countries are happy to trade in old Russian hardware and they have plenty. Modifying Russian aircraft to shoot NATO stuff - Uhhhhh NO.

Are you serious? Maybe you should go to a Russian country and see how bad it sucks. I did that.

You aint seen nothing.

Doubt they will repeat that mistake and in an even worse way by engaging the russians directly but, as dumb as americans are you really don’t know what sort of foolishness they will resort to next.

Oh not so. I think the Americans know exactly how far they can go because threats without action show weakness. Putin will back down because he already bit off more than he can chew.

Will be send to Iran too just like those confiscated Javelins.Israel would be happy with when the Hezbollah gets Iranian javelins.
The effective percentage of engagement is merely 19 percent under simulated combat, and they will hit target even less frequently in real combat situations. The MQ-9 is a different find..
