i know you won't read it but the patriot system, though 40 years old, is still considered to be the best on the planet by military experts.

yes, the missile design is 40 years old but it has been continuously upgraded with the latest electronics.

not just the missile itself but also the radar and guidance systems. there are multiple variants.

it can shoot down anything in the sky, including incoming ICBM's.

it does not make actual contact with the target.

it is a proximity weapon that just has to get close before it goes off.
