I'm currently facing felonies and still say no on 19. Fuck a 5x5 and especially fuck Philip Morris buying thousands of acres in Southern Humbolt to monoplize by blowing out a mountain with mediocre easy to grow producers. Actually a company called Linus or Linux that's Philip Morris' insurance company did their buying of that property so it isn't as connected name wise, even though it's the same.

Anyways there's sooooooooooo many loop holes and grey area and I feel those who think this is even a good prop are highly uninformed, if I dare say ignorant.

Whatevs...there's more to life than this issue, but my 2 cents go to saying ignore it and wait for the bill that will be legitimate to all not just to those looking to profit.

you should stop believing bullshit PM does own thousands of acres of oil leases off of the coast of cali....

I fucking love wasting an hour of my life to make a point about 19 only to have them not respond to it..,, why the fuck do I even bother??? All I get in return is insane Glenn beck-esque remarks from some mustard prick

I responded to your post.

What the fuck is your major malfunction?

Do you even read the thread before you post?

If that's all I've offered you then you're not only an asshole.

You're a blind asshole.

Thanks once again for raising the level of discussion.

Childish bullshit insults.

I don't see new tactics at all.

but they still have a "loophole" to fuck us with no lube? big chance or little chance, right?

really????
thats a bummer....

Dammit, this is fear mongering again by Mr. Mustard.

They can amend it without our votes. Though, they can't amend it with anything that would limit the minimum rights set in the bill. So, it can only be amended to INCREASE OUR RIGHTS.

Fear mongering again. I would like to see some actual truth to this claim about the big cigarette companies buying land in Humboldt. Let's see it! Do you know this has been a rumor since the 1970's???

If that wasn't enough, lets look at it another way. Why buy land in Humboldt? Climate isn't perfect at all, price of land is expensive, the land isn't flat, and the labor is expensive. If the tobacco companies were to buy land, they would buy some farm land in Stockton or somewhere like that. Cheap land, almost free water (delta), flat land, more sun, and cheaper labor.

Hopefully this brings everyone back into reality.

My point was that they don't have to change anything at all if they don't want to.

Perfect. They don't have to change anything. If we don't get changes we want, we can vote again in 2012 to loosen up what is now Prop 19. This would mean more rights now, and then more rights later too if we wanted.

Simple, done.

Exactly! Why the fuck would they want to grow in Northern Cali???? Makes NO sense at all. The Central Valley would be a far superior place. Yeah...and I've been hearing this urban legend for years.

last time...(1000th time)

its not phillip morris its R.J. Reynolds.

they do own property in CA but it aint for growing... however...in a funny way you do pay them to grow when you pay for power in certain areas where they own geothermal power plants.

by R.J. Reynolds:
Our commitment to the energy business is long term and will reflect a renewed emphasis on highly selective opportunities internationally. six times their 1976 cost. and represent a uniquely appreciating asset for the company. During 1981, Aminoti added substantially to its inventory of exploratory acreage by successfully bidding at two major offshore lease sales and by increasing domestic exploration acreage by 42 percent. The company acquired six tracts offshore California and 16 tracts in the Gulf of Mexico. Capital expenditures for exploration during 1981 amounted to $184.3 million, an increase of 171 percent over 1980. The results of the exploration program enabled the company to attain its objective of finding 25 million BOE reserves during 1981. Domestic natural gas production increased by 4.6 percent to a level of 274.5 million cubic feet per day. During the year, Aminoil continued its suc- cessful joint-venture producing programs in Argentina and the Dutch North Sea. In December, Aminoil signed an agreement with the People's Republic of China, which permits the company to import refined gasoline from China to the United States. Aminoil improved its high exploratory suc- cess rate to 51 percent, surpassing its 1980 rate of 42 percent. During the year, Aminoil drilled 102 wells of which 52 resulted in oil and gas discoveries. In the fourth quarter, Aminoil sold its natural gas liquids retailing operations, Amtane and Solar Gas, resulting in a gain. Aminoil will continue to wholesale liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). and will emphasize marketing LPG for higher-margin markets. Arninoil achieved record production vol- umes in its natural gas processing operations Left An offshore r g illustrates .Am noil's expanded participation in exptorat;on programs in the Gulf of Mexico Above: Workers regulate steam pressure at Am noil s geotherma! operations in northern California during 1981 and ranks among the 25 largest producers in the United States. The company acquired the remaining 30 percent interest in a gas processing plant in the East Chapa Field in Texas, and now owns eight such plants. The company's earnings from geothermal steam production were more than double the 1980 level, reflecting the first full year of steam supply to the world's largest geothermal electric generating plant in The Geysers area of northern California. Proved and potential steam reserves are equal to one-fourth of our total domestic petroleum reserves and their selling price is tied to the price of alternate fuels. In the next five years, more than a third of R.J. Reynolds Industries' capital spending will be in the energy business - the corporation's highest income growth business. This investment will secure increased acreage and exploration oppor- tunities, increased production, improved reserve positions, and other assets to keep Aminoil growing at an accelerated rate. In R.J. Reynolds Industries' transporta- tion business, Sea-Land Industries Investments, substantial Increases In revenues and EFO were realized from results of the transition to more fuel- efficient ships, volume and rate Improvements, cost-reduction programs and more effective marketing efforts to secure higher-revenue cargoes. Sea-Land's 1981 revenues rose to $1.62 billion, up 15 percent, and EFO increased to $102.9 million, an increase of 56 percent. This performance reflected heavy and profitable 13 w C O4

and this is how urban legends are born folks.

unless you believe richard lee and R.J.R. are setting up thousand acre offshore greenhouses (which would actually be neat in a weird way)

rumor dispelled again can we move on?

I think it's pretty safe to say 19 is gaining momentum and should pass easily...

To those that think the price and quality will drop should know that people like to smoke good cannabis. If you grow a lot better product then what might be offered through mass growing people will still pay top dollar for it... I don't even smoke most peoples bud because it does nothing to me. Why would I buy it? I'm used to the good bud and that's all I smoke. People don't drink beer that won't get them drunk and they won't buy bud that doesn't get them high....

Well the beer market took decades before Sam Adams came public. It took a real long time to have craft beers in selection.

I think your analogy is ok, however there will be a shit ton more Keystone Light sold as compared to Stone IPA.

And since there will be such a smaller supply of the top shelf prices probably won't drop much, and many will have to turn to Richard Lees warehouse grown crap because they won't have access to the underground growers (too big for 5x5 but way too small to compete, so will stay black market).

Election day is in 28 days, soon the fun will begin.

First of all nobody really fucked with beer in America for a long time. During prohibition people were used to drinking shitty watered down liquor that sometime was poisionus. People have already come to expect high grade cannabis in California and legalization will not all of a sudden make people OK with terrible commercial cannabis. It just WONT happend. If people can't get good mj under 19 they will get it from 215. If they can't get it from 215 they will get it from street dealers. If they can't get it from dealers they will grow it themselfs. But to say all of a sudden quality will drop because mj is legalized is beyond ludacris.

I think that sounds pretty accurate, but I dont think it will take too long for some quality local store brands to pop up. Think about being able to buy weed grown personally by dj short, bog, or tom hill. people would buy that shit up for 400 a zone no problem just due to name. I am sure the quality would be there too, but the name is what sells. I think established breeders have the most to gain with this bill's structure, but anyone with a grow and a license will be able to go to a farmers market, or organic market and open a booth to make a pretty decent living or at least supplement to a living.

I could see the market getting flooded with a bunch of shwaggy crap from new growers or pure commercial growers, but that's ok, because like you said it doesnt mean good quality growers cant take part still. Many people like a weaker and cheaper pot that they can burn as much as they want with out thinking twice about it. some people dont smoke much, and they have no tolerance, so things like LVPK, are way to strong for them. some people cant even handle one hit of that stuff and still feel comfortable. These people need shwag to build up. lol

That is funny...... But, I hope it never comes to that :(

you probably wont have too ever, because in a legal market you can have brinks home security, and bakers dozen of pit bulls. its a pretty good deterrent. :)

Also to comment on people still talking about big tobacco taking over weed. Do you know how global based businesses works? No you dont, it is obvious. so stop already, it is done, it old, jesus tap dancing christ. :)

Interesting point: If you came across weed that was labeled: "Lazyman's Grape Stomper" would you be inclined to lean that direction, or would you think that "man what if the feds wanted to track that cat down, find out where this came from and nail his ass?" lol

I'm just saying that cuz I'm considering labeling my herb, I'm already labeling my medibles (not sure if I should share the name here) but I would like to build a brand name folks can recognize.

Getting people to leave my stickers on their packages would be another issue entirely, I think each zip would have to be labeled and then sold in 16-packs, each individually labeled and marked with strain info, indoor, soil etc.

What say u IC?
