Pretty much.

OTOH, it's important to try to keep everybody honest, particularly the big guys, so it's important for people to be able to legally obtain cannabis through different mechanisms, beginning with personal growing. I502 obviously doesn't accomplish that.

Well said Jhhnn, very well said.
You have a way with words that is for sure!:tiphat:

I Vote YES to this type of thinking!

Maybe GLOW is right!

Is it already to late??

Big Pharma-Produced Cannabis Is Likely Coming to the U.S.

Sativex and other compounds have been here for a while, that horse is done gone & the barn burnt down...they might actually grow weed for recreational, but they can't make people buy it. when that happens, it means drug testing for cannabis will be over, folks won't get arrested for possession, and the folks that love good weed will STILL be growing their own because the police STILL won't have enough manpower nor will to do the job.:dance013:

If we still have a vote....VOTE NO OR ELSE!

Stop quoting out of context Stanky Balls --- Big Pharma produced cannabis products have long been in the US (and elsewhere) --- you'll note though that growers are still producing their own and Big Pharma products have an almost zero market share of US consumed cannabis product.

May I ask you nicely Glow, is it possible for someone to disagree with you without you being a total and complete ass?
Or are you just always right and in every way?

I believe this is a fair question.
Why do you feel the need to go on like you do?

A proper man could carry on a fair debate without spitting, and throwing muck everywhere.
Is this really asking too much from you.
This is an earnest attempt to have a civil conversation like real men.
Give it a shot, please?

We playing the passive aggressive game again? Its like a stuck record. I'm more than happy to have an intelligent conversation with someone intelligent Stanky Balls - call me an IQ snob. Why not try posting something besides constructed conspiracy theory and Monsanto screeching and sure I'm more than happy to talk. All I have seen to date is one side screaming fowl, the other countering with reasoned debate which is then discarded with more conspiracy and more dribble. Fortunately pal ICmag is a very small representation of a much vaster voting demographic so all the conspiracy theory in the world pretty much falls on deaf ears.

I will take that as a NO!

Note to others here:
Have you ever noticed when you try to speak truth the people trying to keep the truth from you use a smear campaign to try to discredit the source?
Politics is a perfect example!
If that does not work they scream conspiracy theory?

I tried to have a intelligent debate with you GLOW but you showed your true IQ level with playground tactics.

I hope the fine folks here see you for what you really are!!!

Vote no, unless they give you legalization for the people and by the people....anything less is just selling out!

Anyone who says otherwise is just in it for the $$$$$$$

Poll results
https://www.icmag.com/ic/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=2669
3.25% of the people say "Yes, i feel the new laws are being constructed properly."

Let the voice of the people be heard!

"I tried to have a intelligent debate with you GLOW" ---- you're giving yourself far too much credit. I haven't heard a single intelligent thing come out of you yet... You're rehashing the same old tired base level fear campaign that others have used to their detriment in the past. You have also displayed an absolute lack of integrity throughout. As a simple rule where there is one lie there is invariably more lies.

I would vote yes for any measure that is better then what is in that state now.
I do prefer that people be allowed to grow their own for personal use.
If they want to sell it then they get to tax and regulate and compete with big biz.
To vote NO or else is absurd, it is just dogma, and will not work as well as other methods have worked. The War on Cannabis is all but lost, the future is pretty clear.
Now it is about who will make the profits, but I do not care as long as people can legally grow their own for personal use. The laws are in flux but they are getting better, year after year, and before long anyone everywhere will be able to grow for personal use, I suspect the wall is breaking down very fast.

Stanky Balls if all you have got is to pull me up on spelling that's a great sign:) Hence nothing intelligent to add --- just beating the same old drum. Agree 100% Sam albeit not quite so optimistic but let's see what the future brings. Def the legalisation movement is winning now - tomorrow may be a different thing.

Hey Sam

We seem to to want similar Legalization!
But people being allowed to grow their own for personal use is a must not a preference!
As I have stated over and over in this thread I am all for Cannabis Legalization!
I stated VOTE NO OR ELSE, to draw attention to the problems with the current ideas of legalization.
I hope to stop improper legalization dead in it's tracks!

The biggest problem to me is that $$ the powers that be $$ would like to totally eradicate personal home growing.
Can that even be called legalization?
I personally do not even see that as a form of legalization, only control and will always say "VOTE NO OR ELSE!"

But much like you, if personal home growing is allowed I will VOTE YES!

Again, I state this many, many times in this thread.

So to recap:
I say "VOTE NO OR ELSE" if personal home growing is not allowed!

I say "VOTE YES" if personal home growing is preserved!:plant grow:

I have stated this so, so many times in this thread!
Everyone feel free to look back and you will see the truth!

Peace Love and other hippy stuff to ya Sam!

Glad you got a rise out of that:)

So I'm wondering what people you speak of when you harp the cliche "for the people by the people" === you seem to think the people are a homogenous group when nothing could be further from the truth (hence democracy being such a shit show because the pig ignorant, racist, extremists etc all can vote). For example, what you are saying is vote no to legalization unless it gives growers the right to home grow. Let's say you vote no and then cannabis is still illegal. What have you achieved at that point other than perpetuating a system of oppression against the "people"? That one is a homogenous group because whether, democrat, republican, white supremacist or African American they all face imprisonment. Interesting that you put up the definition of "crying foul" and by definition = "Protest strongly about a real or imagined wrong or injustice." Interesting because you on the one hand support a very real wrong and injustice (prohibition/incarceration/lives destroyed) while crying foul about a imagined wrong or injustice which shows your inability to disseminate even the most simple data. In simple terms the Government is making concessions that keep people out of prisons and somehow you see that as a wrong or injustice. That Stanky Balls is crying foul (sp excluded).. In the meantime you make grandiose statements such as "anyone else is just in it for the money"... And yet what is more than apparent is you are in this for the money (hence using human immune toxin chem PGRs to produce your shite that isn't fit for consumption while invoking the devil Monsanto and talking about growing ethics) and if growers are not allowed to grow their own you will lose money. Anyone who questions you is then in it for the money right?? Perhaps you can see the massive inconsistencies that become apparent when your BS is dissected/deconstructed. Also what you seem to be missing is that any steps towards full legalization (that includes growing your own) are positive steps in the right direction... Oh and Stanky Balls, Tom Fromp, Mark or whatever name you choose to call yourself nice try on the nationality (very cliche BTW) but yep you got that one wrong too...

Except small scale artisanal producers don't compete with the mass market, they sell a much higher quality, more expensive version of the product which isn't driven down as far by copies.

There's Pecorino, and then there's proper Pecorino that has been aged in a cave rich in mineral salts.

There's Kraft Parmesan powder, then there's Parmigiano which has been meticulously aged according to traditional processes.

There's the total shit that people will be mass producing, then there's artisanally grown weed that has been given ideal care. Please don't imagine that the price of a bale of trash weed somehow has an impact on the price of properly grown product, you might eventually get your way in 30 years, but I won't be smoking that shit, and neither will anyone I know.

To be realistic I expect prices will fall dramatically under a legalization framework - whether that be for top shelf or brick weed (although I expect brick weed will be worthless). Certainly if you look at recent trends (prohibition v. pseudo legalization/legalization) prices have fallen (just speak to any BC grower that used to ship to the US). I don't see this as a bad thing at all --- black market prices aren't sustainable in a legal market and given PhDs will be growing med for the mass market I expect they'll be growing top shelf regardless. Simple rules of supply and demand and time against crime apply (no time = no risk = reduction in price). Obviously this will hurt financially orientated growers but then according to the nay sayers - the pied pipers of prohibition - they aren't here supporting prohibition because of greed.

Yeah I guess it is impossible to make mass produced high quality, thats why the best highest quality alcohol and tobacco products are made at home by small scale artisanal producers?
Italy does make more then 30,000 metric tons of Pecorino Romano and some of the best is from the biggest makers.
Same with Parmigiano, Parmigiano Reggiano makes 3 million wheels a year each over 80 Lb, they are not exactly small biz.
My wife likes La Tur made by Caseificio Dell' Alta Langa, her favorite italian cheese, here in Amsterdam we can have it two days after being released by the makers, it is soft and not really the same as the two you mention that my wife also buys and uses often with cooking. I like Le Marcaire a soft cheese made by Ermitage in the Eastern France region of the Vosges. Quality can be made in very large amounts if your #1 priority is quality.

That and your best herb, the very best will not be able to compete with the exact same clone grown outdoors by the thousands and used to make dry sift that is 3 times stronger in THC or whatever Cannabinoids, as well as being terpene rich and way cheaper.
Organic mass produced resin sold cheaper then your herb by the gram will make it tough for you to sell herb at high prices. Some may prefer what you have to offer, but the masses just want the same resin, cheaper and stronger, and they want to buy it at the 7-11 with chips and ice cream.

You're on to something & you don't know it. Think bigger.

Parmigiano Reggiano is a great example. Over 250,000 85Lb wheels are produced each year.

http://www.clal.it/en/?section=produzioni_parmigiano

"Big" doesn't necessarily mean "bad", at all.

Ten years from now, everything people think they know about the market will no longer apply.

They'll never be able to tax it like they do tobacco or alcohol. Too high a tax, then the black market will come alive. Look at Colorado, 20 bucks a gram. Its very high when a street dealer can give you it for 10. The gov is prob looking at this for awhile now like we can't control this they way we want so fuck em lets just keep illegal. lol
