The bill, designed to ensure the medical market doesn't waylay the state’s recreational program.

Just another sign money rules the cannabis world.

Do you think everybody growing at home is a threat to recreational $$$$$$ dollars $$$$$?

I can almost hear the words "No more home growing, we just can not tax it".....Hmmm

Only time will tell.
I hope not but I can see the writing on the wall.

110 pages... It's STILL going!!!

Yeah but Stanky Balls, the pied piper of prohibition, has turbo posted 55 pages all to himself. Hey Shags I thought you threw in the towel - admitted defeat but here you are thinking I'd gone. You're all class that's for sure - like trying to put the sucker punch in when a guys back is turned. Swallow a cloudy day and go do something constructive.

Hurry vote yes to legalize in Michigan!!

http://www.theweedblog.com/debate-heats-up-over-michigan-marijuana-legalization-proposals/

The Michigan Responsibility Council (MRC) group, composed of hardline Republican power players, proposes to eliminate the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act (MMMA, the Act), eliminate all home-based cultivation of marijuana, divide the state into ten regions and allow one company per region to grow and supply all the recreational marijuana for that region’s market.

Sen. Rick Jones (R-Grand Ledge) said he hopes the bill will begin the process of getting marijuana cultivation out of homes and into the hands of pharmaceutical companies, vocalizing the fears of many within the medical marijuana community.

It’s time to get marijuana out of houses and put it somewhere else,” Sen. Jones said. “Let the pharmaceutical companies grow it and sell it in pharmacies.”

http://www.thedailychronic.net/2013...l-grade-medical-marijuana-bill-passes-senate/

Since the first Medical Marijuana Initiative (Prop215) passed in 1996 it has been a wild ride. But some 16 years later it is apparent that the goal of “growing your own” is under great threat, not just in Michigan, but throughout all of Canada and the United States. Despite my warnings many activists passed passed “tax, regulate and control” initiatives in Washington and Colorado. Now the activists are finally realizing that I was right: the right to “grow your own” is being slowly stripped away in order for the state governments to monopolize both production and distribution. In fact all 14 Medical Marijuana States are all seeing increasing initiatives to stop “home growers.” Very similar restrictions are about to occur in Canada under the Globalist Harper regime. And now in Michigan they actually boast that their bills will eradicate “home growers” in favor of Big Pharma and State monopolies. As always it is “all about the money.”

But no one wants to take away home growing, it is just in my head.

4 States down and counting http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jul/01/oregon-recreational-marijuana-legalized

" Adults can grow up to four plants per household, out of public view."

The new law means Oregon likely will reap benefits that appear to have followed legalization elsewhere: Reduced crime, from a legal industry supplanting a black market; higher tax revenue, once weed is legal to sell; and police forces and courts unburdened by droves of misdemeanor pot offenders.

Oregon voters in November approved Measure 91 with 56 percent of the vote. Starting Wednesday, adults 21 and older can legally possess up to eight ounces of marijuana inside their home and up to one ounce outside. Adults can grow up to four plants per household, out of public view.

I think the plan is that Monsanto and other evil corporations are going to patent seeds, and so destroying all breeders business and closing seed banks, and whom they catch growing he's going to pay big amount of money as penalty...

People in the black market get sent to prison if they get caught. That's the only bad thing about it. Full legalization means no one will go to prison and lose years of their life over weed anymore.

That's called greed fellahs - same shit as you are accusing companies of who wish to profit from the med and rec scene. I would like to be on record as saying I am totally against the black market.
I would also like to be on record as saying I am totally against any kind of monopoly, oligopoly or cartel!

Ohio says vote no!
Cannabis Activists Cheer Ballot Move To Stop ResponsibleOhio

A Possible Setback To Legalization

Nicole Scholten of Cincinnati is spokeswoman for Ohio Families CANN, a group of activist parents who want access to marijuana to treat their sick children. The group believes ResponsibleOhio would not meet their needs, and, "Within the context of seeking a better life for our children, Ohio Families CANN has always been willing to work with anyone interested in supporting best medicine for those children, no matter the political affiliation."

Brad White of Mount Lookout, a brand marketer at Procter & Gamble, has started and sold two businesses in his life, and he believes passage of the ResponsibleOhio plan will step on "the entrepreneurial spirit."

"Any form of keeping it illegal is a tough thing to stomach because of all the benefits, especially to people in the medical community," White said. "But I would much rather wait a year and have the right type of economic environment, where everyone has an opportunity to create their own profitability, rather than give wealthy investors a head start."

What of course you fail to see is that Med or legal ultimately big business will be taking the profits from the grow scene. When I say big business that could be Monsanto (as per your fear mongering) or the likes of Harbourside etc. One simply has to look at the situation now in California where a pack of scum bag med profiteers voted no to legalization and now Ca is seen as a joke by more pregressive States that have gone both med and rec. Also legislation to tidy up the shit show of the Ca med scene is coming into force to ensure med is grown according to med standards. This is a great thing in my books and has my support - med users shouldn't be subjected to heavy metal laden, PGR, mycotoxin poisoned shite grown by hacks who are motivated by greed. So what will happen and is already happening is med is being produced by qualified people (PhDs etc) who seriously know their shit and there is a cultural shift going on re production standards in the scene. This said, if as you say you are against the black market, laws also allow growers to produce more than enough for themselves - so your arguments are highly flawed/dubious/questionable and you will be able to continue to grow your own badly produced shite while not being able to profit is the same way as has been tradition (massive prices for a herb/weed/dicot) from sales to others because the rule of supply and demand will drive down prices and take away a lot of the incentive for commercial, black market growing from the likes of clowns (clueless hacks) like you. A win/win all round. You get to grow your own and consumers get produce that is well produced and regulated. Awesome!!! :tiphat:

^ No. And any business that involves plants, whether it is a nursery, or a farm, or a garden retail center, is required to pay lots of money annually for inspections and fees and taxes. There's no getting around that. Go hang around the gardenweb forums and look and see how many small-time gardeners are complaining about how all the inspections and fees are preventing them from being able to open their own business, while the big box stores are thriving. It's because government regulations require the same amount of money from any business for these inspections... doesn't matter if you're Walmart or some little old lady, you have to pay the same amounts of money.

Everyone would be better suited fighting the government's regulations on the agriculture industries instead of conspiring to keep cannabis illegal.

Smells like the avatar looks. That Avatar scares the shit out of me, and the line of thinking, frighting.

It makes me almost depressed to thinks that there may me a large number of minds that think like this and can vote. Its scary. like anyone ever feel that the mass of dumb-asses (for lack of better words) will over power the thinkers and liberators of society...

Why have to pay the gov or anyone to grow on land you already paid for.... already are taxed for, etc.

that lay down and take it attitude is just.....

minds like that will be in our prayers and will one day see the light.. while we still have our freedoms

the way the government is attempting to "legalize" cannabis is only a way to control the access of it and tax it... there are much better ways to restore the economy with cannabis and hemp without stripping the people of their power to grow it.

Washington is a prime example of what not to do, they "legalized" cannabis, then shut out co-operatives so that only select major farm corporations with enough money/land could then control the supply...

a friend of mine married into a rich farming family in Central Eastern WA... they said that the government sold a certain number of permits to qualified farms to grow cannabis commercially. some of the requirements to grow are; huge one-time and yearly fees, a certain minimum acreage(>500), self-sustainable water supply(no city water used), and a corn crop/barbwire barrier surrounding the cannabis. the "legal" limit for these corporations is to use up to 20% or 1/5th of your land for cannabis. the farm land in WA is parceled out in 300 acre circles, so the maximum acreage for cannabis farming is ~60 ACRES... cannabis in the center, surrounded by corn, surrounded by bard wire, with farmer Frank cruising the rows in his John Deere. mainly auto-flowering strains are grown under industrial size greenhouses with open sidewalls, treated with Avid, Eagle 20, and who knows what other industrial agricultural chemicals...

who works these plantations? yep you guessed it, not White folks... these big time corporations then sell their conventionally grown, auto-flowering, pesticide ridden herb for around $1/gram to huge processing companies who then process this stuff in to "medicinal" or "recreational" concentrates/joints/edibles in large factories. this is the stuff your average stoner is buying from the local dispensary and stuffing their e-pen with daily...

the holy herb will always be sought after and hoarded by money motivated business, vote NO on corporate "legalization" and vote YES on full de-criminalization!

Thank you sir!

You helped make my day. I love this, it is truth

Been around the grow scene now for 30 years pal - wrote the fucking book on it. Who buys GMO mate when you can grow your own and know what you're eating (just like weed). It cracks me up how you pro prohibition mob hide behind bullshit and use fear tactics and dubious cross links in an attempt to disguise your lack of will to pay your way (taxes) and profiteer hideously at the expense of others. Enjoy crawling over the pile of dead bodies to get to the top mate until you become one of those bodies.
