Vision seeds northern lights and gg#4

yeah man it will continue to grow... all you've done here is take a clone off it..
those 4 branches will now become beast... and the one in the cup just chuck in a small pot of dirt keep wet and few weeks will have roots.. this is of course the most basic way to mare a cut root.. but will work if you struggle with other ways like you've mentioned before.. the way i would do it is take the one in the cup and take bottom branch off and throw it away.. scrape the stem lightly with a blade to pull a thin layer of bark off... then dip the cut in clonex.. then put into soil or rockwool... again this is basic.. but will work.. if not you really suck.. ha ha

nice thread mate... enjoying the pics.. take care..

Dude,I've done exactly what you said. I even went to my mums and pinched some rooting powder. I've got it in one of the little seeds starter cells with some cutting soil I start seeds off in. Ive put a bottle over top and that's about it he best I can do. I know I suck already,I could have punched myself in the face when I felt it snap. Hold on I will put a picture of my bodge job up in a few mins.

nah man sounds like youve done well here.. and might be a blessing.. you will succuesfully get the cut to root.. and be cheering.. and i heard this once and was suprised but actually seem to work... when bending branches and such is better to do when the plant is dry.. and wont snap as easy when dry...

nice one gavsta.... rock on..

I feel like this gg#4 thing and me is not ment to be lol. I thought I had this lst thing sussed. I can't remember how many plants I've bent over or super cropped before now and never damaged a plant like this. I just pulled it over slow and it just popped. I was left holding the top half of the plant in my fingers stairing at it for a few seconds then I screamed. Mrs come running upstairs thinking I'd done myself a mischieve. It's put me off doing anymore lst to the NL now.

Dont worry bro now you'll have 2 glue ladies to flower out now.

Im sure somebodies already said to you that you would kick yourself come harvest time as 2 of your cuts didnt make it so now your just 1 down.

Take it as a positive mate and dont let that stop you training them.

Peace.

Nah can't be doing with waiting for that to root and veg at the same time trying to control the others before I can switch to flower. I'm gonna keep the half I've got left veggin for a while and just flower that with the NLs. Its only personal for me and Mrs so anything is a bonus that comes off the gg#4 now. What I will do if that clone roots out is pass it on. I'm sure I can find someone somewhere who would be grateful. I've got to get it to root 1st and that is a long shot.

Trying to work out how long I've been veggin the northern lights. I think it's been 6 weeks already going by my first post. Why do my plants look so small lol. I'm gonna flip them next week.

Hi GG some indica strains do veg slow and also dont stretch much when you flip the light cycle, may want to bear that in mind or do a little research on that particular breeders NL to see if they recommend an extended veg period.

Peace

I've topped all the heads again now and tied her down some more. Gonna sit on my hands now for another 2 weeks. Gives gg#4 time to catch up.

I wasn't going to update this week as not a lot is happening at the moment. I am having a battle with them little black flies not damaging the plant as yet and I've only noticed a few so I've hung up non toxic fly tape and started spraying with neem again. I think this fresh invasion is from when I potted up the gg#4 with new soil. Not bothered by these flies at all I have them nearly every grow and after a couple of sprays of neem they soon disappeared. Anyway I had the plants out to spray so I thought I would take quick photo. Pleased with how they look so far, they look drooping in photo as I only just sprayed them.

Hey there GG, you might want to pinch the glue out a bit to try and get some more growth tips.

Peace.

Yeah not sure I want to slow them down anymore, I've already had them in veg for a lot longer than I ever did any other plants and it's starting to drag now haha. I'm planning in switching them to flower in 8 days. Fingers crossed I get a good harvest for the time I've put in.

That photo doesn't do them much justice to be fair. They are bushing out well,I reckon they will be close to 3ft wide by the time they have finnished stretching once I flip. They still only stand around 10inches tall .

Just putting a marker down for myself,I put the plants in 24hrs of dark last night and I will be switching to flower tonight.

Just some pictures of progress,I put them into flower yesterday.

NL 1, being bent over and responds well to it. She's super low and really wide

NL 2 , she's more stubborn. I tie her down and she breaks free.

And here's gg#4 that I snapped in half.

I'm a little worried, these NL had 7 weeks of veg and showed no pre sex. Is that normal? I've never vegged for so long, normally I veg for around 30 days. Shouldn't I have seen some sign of sex by now?

Stay classy people

I've just been to check on the girls (they're showing sex now) and I've got the same Brown spots I always get. I've looked over the internet to diagnose this many times. As far as I can tell its a calcium deficiency. I stopped growing organic so I could start using cal mag with this grow. I hadn't been using it yet as I was scared and fuck me if I haven't gone and let it happen again. It's mostly on the newish growth at centre of plant. So if I start using the calmag now will it clear up? I've always got my plants to the finish whaen I've had this issue before but it does my head in seeing my plants look like this.

Are you using RO or tap water?

IME the most common issue is incorrect pH. When I see a deficiency, the first thing I do is check that "pH Nutrient Uptake" chart. I then adjust my pH according to what is being locked out, rather than adding more/less of specific nutrients. This has worked out good for me so far.

Just saw that you're spraying your plants with neem - make sure you only spray during the "night".

If you do it during the "day", water droplets on leaves will act as tiny magnifying glasses and cause burnt spots on your leaves.

I hate spraying anything on my plants, besides water. I just use mosquito dunks and sticky cards when the gnats get bad. Works every time for me. Takes a few days though.
