"Marijuana farm in San Francisco. Two warehouse marijuana farms were busted by San Francisco undercover police on Bancroft Street and Napoleon Street. This was the main growing room where plants had already been pulled and a police officer was examining the drying area located directly above the growing room (see legs on top of ladder). July 27, 1988"

That girl at right with the long straight hair is a dead ringer for a cousin of mine. She'd have been 15 or 16 in 1971 and thats photo isn't far from Sutton Place, which was her neighborhood back in those days.
Pretty sure thats Graham Chapman in drag behind her too

Zulu tribesmen smoking Dagga (cannabis) using “The Earth Pipe”, South Africa. Around 1900

I've looked a long time to find a photo of the earth pipe in Africa in use, finally found one!

Looks like this one has a bowl outside the hole, going into a hole filled with water. Straws above waterline and bam, earth bong!

I also touched up my post #42 on page 5.
"Mmmmmhhh, so earthy!" LOL Reminds me of some of the dumber methods I've used in the past myself. :) Good find. :)

We made a water pipe/hookah in college and called it the “hoover”. It was a large round fishbowl that had a bowl stem and toking hose coming out of a make shift lid for the fishbowl. It was mounted on a small furniture dolly so it could easily be moved around the room. It also had interchangeable bowls depending on the size of the “crowd”.

Please tell me there was a beta in the bowl named bubbles:laughing:

"The women of the Vale of Kashmir, one of the loveliest places in the world, have long been considered among the most beautiful in India. The languorous and exotic nautch dancers, with their jeweled headdresses and their richly embroidered costumes, play a conspicuous part in Kashmir ceremonies, particularly on those occasions when the Maharaja squanders a fortune for the celebration of some August event."

Ah, the art of alliteration. Anything in that fishbowl would have needed a very high tolerance.

We did have a gar fish in an aquarium though. Feeding time was always a hit.
Woooo!
Alligator Gar is a scary, ugly fish.
Saw them 5-6 feet long teaming in the water in rivers down near Old Miss. Could see their teeth from up on the bridge.

Thanks Fuel, a pleasure. Interesting about the octopus, I believe there was some hype with Vegas going up around the time on the west coast. Maybe a 'we see you' slap to the mob on the side:biggrin:
