WOW !

Nice find of that photo in Mauritius

Bet that was some nice Sativa up in smoke

Its crazy to think, on a small remote island far away from everything like this, you still have this level of military enforcement... And this was in the 70's...

Tried to find the picture they were setting up for with the chairs being placed in the middle of the pile, but fell short.

Might be a good place to find that epic Landrace tucked away...

"This abuna-e shows a woman smoking her pipe as she sits atop of her lover and reaches inside his kimono." Japanese woodblock print, 19th Century

COUPLE_IN_BED_WITH_WOMAN_SMOKING_HER_PIPE.jpg

"'Abuna-e' capture glimpses of nude or partially nude females involved in foreplay, bathing, washing their hair, enjoying the cool of the evening, or putting on makeup. Often a sudden gust of wind, small child, or even an animal such as a monkey or cat has playfully pulled the woman's robes apart revealing her legs, thighs, or breasts. It is thought that abuna-e were created in 1772, after the government banned more explicit erotica, and the peak of their popularity, around the middle of the 18th century, supports this assumption. Because their message is implicit, some people consider abuna-e more truly erotic than the explicitly sexual shunga."

The Sow Tradition

After the United States passed Taima Torishimari Hô (the Cannabis Control Act) in 1948 on Occupied Japan, Cannabis/hemp became illegal under the law. The 'Japan Hemp Association' was formed to make sure tradition, culture, heritage and genetics survived.

Every year the Association sow's a field of there special hemp genetics called "Noshujima" in the Tochigi prefecture to preserve the seeds.

The field of Hemp is prepared, sown and farmed the old way preserving the tradition and culture of the Japanese Hemp Farmer dating back thousands of years.

Using a ancient style plow, it takes two people to swing and plow the field. Two people to pass on life...

After the field is plowed, its time to sow. For the spreading of seed, a antique seeder made for cannabis is used.

If anyone can read Japanese please please please translate the writing for us... I see the symbol for Cannabis in there.

The planting of Hemp to preserve genetics goes on in at least 2 prefecture's in Japan, also taking place in Nagano prefecture every year.

“In this area of Nagano-prefecture, the local government administers the growth of one or two closely monitored hemp fields of exactly one thousand plants grown at a different location in rotating villages (Miasa, Ogawa, Shinshushimachi, Omachi, Nakajo) in the gun (county) every year. The local authorities count the plants at the beginning, during and end of the growing season to ensure that no hemp has been taken. The hemp fiber isn’t used at all, in fact, after the plants mature and bear seeds, the seeds are harvested to maintain a fresh seed stock in the town coffers and the hemp crop is burned completely in the field.” – Gruett

Hey Billy,

The larger text on the planter says " Fountain-Field-Style Cannabis Seed Sower or Sowing Machine"

Haha. And, as it was kindly pointed out to me, he probably has a whole caravan, couple jeeps, etc. So he might very well have 90 days of vittles.
