That is a beautiful Destroyer flower! Yeah we grow Destroyer here and when it was first dry I was smoking it all the time. I love the potency and taste, however I soon realized that it affects my like an indica.

I agree with you. It is more of a narcotic stone - like a indica x haze. I find it to be a little hazy anyway. And I could sort of pick up on a coca cola-iness.

Its good, but not what I was expecting from a NLD.

6 year old bud - I cant imagine.

As deep as I try to know, as much as I hesitate to talk. Like you say RR, we must wait to DNA study to see what some colombianas can be and hopefully soon. Different samples and from different areas were sent for Phylos. Nevertheles, in such humid climate and if not "breeder" or smoker or someone to select, lines should have evolved naturally basically on that sense, after quality NLD weed lost its demand, just in acclimatation, not smoking criteria and for some jobs I've done before, not good sex at all. Ignore in the past so I can't say much either in comparison with.
There is CBD as well in the country and in nice amount in some lines. Here I have a doubt still, if CBD and equatorial matches well in theory, or if such tropical conditions could be suitable for natural CBD incrememental. For natural THC incremental if I talk about latest experiences, I would say no.
On other side, I think Punto Rojo need a proper climate and areas with colder night and tough conditions to show their best, if not, can be lovely aromas, some more metalic touches than other lines, but little punch if so due its natural delicate high balance.
But I dont know, just rambling :)
Best

Red snake

Red snake

Charlie is correct, this plant is a Colombian Punto Rojo, not a red snake as stated earlier.

Nice Punto Rojo red rider, good resin coverage, color, and density. Have you smoked your homegrown Punto Rojo yet? I'm smoking testing my pheno-types. Tough job to compare Punto Rojo to other varieties, but somebody's got to do it! Punto Rojo has a higher ceiling, you can go way out there, but its probably not as strong as today's varieties. The high from Punto Rojo is several levels above say a sativa pheno-type ~ of Mango Haze 15 weeks. No doubt in my mind that many Dutch and USA Haze hybrids used Colombian varieties as the Haze, with or without knowing or noting it............

I tend to like the longer flowering wispy phenotypes ~ +20 weeks of flowering the best. What I'm smoking........not as dense or as frosty as your flowers.

Is Charlies's reference to CBD - to be found in Colombia or in CBG's Punto Rojo? i haven't found unstabel sex in Punto Rojo. Some CBG Punto Rojo has some bottom end, but its more calming/content/spiritual than the heaviness in a sativa indica hybrid.

CBG Punto Rojo is more blissful and euphoric, but is not as strong, cerebral, and clear as USC COLJAM

ColJam [Colombian Gold / 1960's Jamaican Lambsbread x Colombian Gold]. ColJam is an intense high for an everyday smoke, more spicy / peppery than Punto Rojo.

Punto Rojo with a high and aromas similar to ColJam + 20 weeks.

I let my first harvest of Punto Rojo turn amber on the plant as seeds matured, not a good idea. Early harvested Punto Rojo with clear/clear cloudy resin glands is too energetic for me.

My best luck growing is harvesting Punto Rojo from the bottom up in three stages. I harvest cloudy resin glands with the first touch of amber. If you can figure out how to do it - its best to harvest when the flowers are sticky. Punto Rojo seems to put on most of the resin in late flowering. I'm just growing small plants indoors to get high. I've got enough Punto Rojo in jars, that I can cure the second and third harvest of Punto Rojo properly. The first harvest was like magic, it just disappeared.

Vaporizing Punto Rojo is exquisite, no heaviness whatsoever, even if you blaze (vapor)~~~ hehehe.......... all day long. The vapors of Punto Rojo never taste burnt or smoky even on high temperatures. Vapor from sativa hybrids often taste like burnt popcorn or cigarettes on medium / medium high temperatures.

Punto Rojo

Punto Rojo

Very nice Punto Rojo you have there too satva. I have in fact tested the Punto Rojo in these pictures, branch broke and couldn't save it (it happens). It is indeed potent with a richly introspective high, that the better Punto Rojo is known for. Again I think with a proper cure she will only get better. Still I learn something new every time we grow this plant, it seems they like to be fed lightly.

CBG Punto Rojo

CBG Punto Rojo

I saw a strain advertised online as Colombia Red Spot from Cannabiogen.

Is that the same as Punto Rojo or related to it?

I just found this video on YouTube

Marijuana / Cannabis in Colombia
Yes sir the beautiful ripening Punto Rojo in the pictures is indeed CBG's selected Colombian "Red Dot" from the central highlands. She is pure old school Colombian goodness and well worth the wait. I don't know anything about that video but I have seen it before.

Wow man you were at the right place at the right time my friend. I know all the best imports must have passed your way back then and later the best sinsemilla.
I was like in my teens in the mid to late 70s living between Dallas TX and WPB Fla. (mom and dad divorced). In TX I saw tons of really poorly grown bricked Mexican (so bad it gave "Mexican" a bad name) before the Colombian came around. In Fla. only exotic Mexicans and Jamaican and commercial Colombians. But it was in Dallas November 78 when I just lucked out on the absolutely best Colombian Punto Rojo. The new sinsemilla cannabis was just arriving and I think the guy we bought the pound from didn't really know how good the Colombian he sold us was. It was a great deal on the last great Colombian I would see but at the time a real problem since we had spent our rent and food money on it. Couldn't give it away (well couldn't sell it) because everyone had the sinsemilla @ $25 a quarter VS $60 a lid. So we smoked it living out of a car for a month or so. Ahhh the good times.

I sure hope I get my Colombian Gold seeds that I ordered soon.

The Mail Man is driving me postal. LOL

Hope they find their way to you soon.

The closest I've come to Colombian gold is the bastard series from gage green, picked up the gold and black.

Colombian black was the second landrace I ever ran, Malawi gold was the first. Both kicked my ass in the flowering room, leaving me humbled but encouraged.
The cb didn't finish up and was picked ugly at six months. Harsh and not pretty but man what a buzz. I soon learned one hit is enough, two leads to a nap, but one leaves me good for several hours and can still function, perfect.
I crossed it to a fast flowering haze cross I've been running since '99 and from just two of those seeds found my new go to plant that finishes nicely in only 14 weeks. One hit is still the perfect buzz/function balance.
Loving the Colombians, nice thread.

in the early (very early 70's) we copped (remember that phrase) some Colombian black... at least that's what we were told it was... we would roll a joint, and 1/2 way thru, your fingers had tar on the tips... it was great weed.. never saw it again...

It's what my Colombian friend called "Candybar" back in 1972-1973. People thought he was rolling hash after he crumbled it up. Black as tar, sticky to the point he used a razor blade to cut through compressed buds. The compression level of the sinsemilla buds looked a bit like the Malawi-style cobs that Tangwena introduced in his thread, however there was no brown or red, just dark brown-black.

that was my favorite colombian in the 70 s, I just wish all this fancy named cannabis of today was half as good

I ordered a Colombian Gold x Oaxacan Highland Gold from Norstar. I got it to get the Oaxacan really but anyways. CG from 2006 and the Oaxacan from 1981.

How does the high from the Mangobiche compare to the Punto Rojo? Excuse if I asked before. The PR appears to be out of stock right now but anyhow.

I personally like the nose better on the MB we harvested but I gave the plant way too much vegging nutrients and she went back to veg a little. So the MB i had didn't mature like the PR did so it's hard to really compare. The finish smoke from the MB tasted so good, very fruity and it has a much more up effect than the serious PR. I made some canna milk with the MB sugar trim and really enjoyed that, the effect was the same but longer and a little more intense than the smoke. Overall I like the MB for morning daytime smoke and the PR for evening night time smoke. Both are excellent Colombians but to me very different effects like choosing between blonds and redheads, their both excellent.
