Red, since you have a great climate, you should research other botanicals that are synergistic with cannabis, like kanna, kava, Mitragyna speciosa, etc. Gardening is a great hobby!

For those saying cocaine is bad....I must disagree.Sugar/Caffeine/opiates are way more addictive yet we sell all of that at your local grocery store.

I've recently seen "Narcos" on Netflix....and have seen various documentaries on the Medellin, Cali, and Norte del Valle cartels in Colombia. I grew up sort of admiring these cartel gangsters ( I know how ignorant that sounds) for being trailblazers and not succumbing to those in power(government bureaucrats that fatten up their pockets). It's just a way to get even, level out the playing field.

For anybody to say, that coca plants should be wiped off the earth, is calling for a paradigm shift in nature. Coca plants have grown and are endemic to the "Red Zone" way before we(humans) populated that area whenever that was.

Cocaine is just another commodity just like cannabis and coffee and bubble gum and gold and oil or whatever. If the USA and EU didn't have such a hunger for the drug, nobody would trade it/transport it simple as that.

The native ppl of the Andes used to chew coca leaf with chia seeds to sustain their strength during long hunting expeditions. Then they would use Peruvian vine to enhance their senses while hunting. Everything has it's uses. It's Not Colombia's fault that "Gringos" decided to get high off of it.

Just saying, my apologies for the rant.

Yes cocaine is bad and honestly the riders are not about it at all.

This is a Colombian crippy plant I've been growing in my window sill since December last year. She has been flowering for almost 6 months and is still going. This plant came from an exceptional batch of crippy and Catalina's (my name for the plant) has the most delightful fragrance. Even Uncle Charlie commented on her sweet aroma and he is not a fan of the crippa. Her smell to my is what I look for in cannabis, it is many smells in one. First she smells strong when touched like sweet hashish (black) but with a citrus lemon type smell too. But it is a very complex scent that is addictive and makes me want to keep smelling it. My wife says it smells like cannabis female sex, I agree.

There's nothing to here maybe a gram or two but I didn't grow her to yield (yet) she is a decorative house plant. I hope to reveg her this year.

I too am presently watching the narco Netflix tv shows. the Colombian ones are good. the Mexican ones are so melodramatic...

I slung coke back in the '70's. really regret it now but I didn't understand the potential for abuse and the subsequent negative impact on families that a parent abusing coke powder ( snorting) would inflict.

then came disco and crack! two of the worse blights on the world. :)

i'm good on chewing coca leaves. I gots no problem with an occasional snort but therein lies the problem; occasional.

I gave up alcohol, coke. i'm happy with good cannabis.

our first drug use was refined sugar. it is a drug.

Dry sift

Dry sift

I've really been enjoying making keif out of the strong but extremely sedating/boring crippy. I just make a very ruff sift using panty hose and a lot of shaking but it is so much better than the raw bud.

attachment.php

Even the taste through clean glass can be delightful where the bud is bland. The effect is cleaner and much more interesting but still very couch locking and super sleepy in the finish. Still I'm very happy to have it and I'm looking into screens to refine it as I think it can be improved on.

I'm no saint and have many encounters with the "white lady" back when I was chasing my tail around going no where. I've learned that all I have to do is think about it, then I'm talking about it, then I think just a "sniff". Then the next thing i know I'm wandering around Santa Fe looking to hire midget prostitutes to preform circus acts. I know the dangers and as such I keep it out of sight, out of mind = no problems. You would think being in Colombia would be the last place to stay away from coke but it is.

In the evening

In the evening

here is a little more crippy right before being made into sift. the flowers are hard dense and compacted. It's relatively fresh but lacks smell and taste. The effect of the flowers is strong and euphoric but couch locking and sleepy. the effect of the hash is less bland and boring but still sleepy, non motivating with a very sleepy finish. this stuff is great for rainy weekend inside with a hard drive full of torrents. but it's ruff for everyday useage.

2004

2004

My dad was 76 years old when he first came to Colombia. Dad had an open mind about most things but like a lot of people he had the idea it was very dangerous in Colombia. But I was living here and he felt safe enough to come for a visit spring of 2004. Coming from a long line of power drinkers we spent a lot of time in bars. One afternoon while we were visiting Cartagena my dad and I went out for a walk along the lagoon. As we walked we talked about everything and dad told me he was stressed because of his sick dying wife (she out lived him by 6 years) and her adult alcoholic sons. For decades her two youngest son and their estranged wives had devastated his finances and he had just had enough of them. We stopped and sat down on a bench and I lite up a joint of the last great Punto Rojo. Dad knew I smoked and could care less but this time he commented on the distinctly different smell this weed had. He had told me before he liked the smell of burning cannabis and even took a hit once or twice in my life. I told him that Colombian was at one time the best and that this Punto Rojo was some of the best. He took a hit and another but no more saying he felt nothing. I was high as a kite when we started walking again. Now dad was really talkative and as high as I was. We laughed and the stress he had was completely out of mind when we came upon this picture of a small Colombian family watching the beautiful sun set. We stood behind them for a moment and dad said it was one of the most touching moments of his long life.

We didn't linger and soon we found ourselves in a bar drinking the night away. Four years later i would bury my dad in his little town in north Georgia. Before he died he told me that his trip to Colombia was one of the greatest adventures of his life and that he admired me for having the balls to just uproot and move here. He did a lot of crazy things while he was here but that's another story.

Thanks so much but I have no sadness about my dad and mom being dead, just real good memories. It is funny because my dad was really concerned about me coming here in the beginning, in fact he called me the night before I made my first trip to Cartagena. He said they (the Colombians) would kidnap me right off the plane and he simply didn't have the funds to pay a ransom. He offered to buy my ticket to Colombia and instead go to Key West with him. He said that was far enough south for anyone that didn't speak Spanish. I told him to relax because my mind was set to go to Colombia no matter what the risk (I really didn't think it was dangerous). He hung up the phone on me saying it was the stupidest thing he'd ever heard of. Two minutes later he calls back saying we could probably go as far as Kingston Jamaica where at least English was spoken. But I said no I was going to Cartagena and I'd see him in two weeks. When I returned I spent a few hours showing him the pictures. He was blown away, he had no idea it was so nice there. Or how safe it is in Cartagena. Two years later he came down and saw it for himself.

I was so drunk I almost couldn't stand up, they tell me I had a great time.

I should have some good pictures of my two little Corinto plants. They are about three months old and showing their sex (f). I was hoping for a m/f but two females is great too. As soon as I can get moved I can trans plant them and get some yield out of them. These plants came from the purple Corinto (seeds) I got from George last year. I have no idea how "pure" they are but the weed they came from was excellent non crippy. Updates coming.
