Yes just like in Colombia, 4 women to every man. And according to Colombian women not many real men around.

My lone indoor Columbian. It is in a 3 gallon pot under a 400w HPS. It is my very first time growing this plant so it is a work in progress. It was 6 weeks 12/12 on Sunday July 26. These pics were taken on the 27th. The buds are quite big compared to other strains in the closet.

I flower new things in this closet to see how they grow in my standard mix and to see if they are worth running more of. It needs fine tuned for this Columbian. I will get it right eventually. Practice makes perfect.

I know the pics leave much to be desired.

Golden leaves

Golden leaves

It is funny that my SMG (grown in Bogota) has the same leaf color.

attachment.php

Not a good picture but you can see some of the leaves are kind of burnt(?) looking.

Makes no difference because the finished bud was epic.

Dreams, I keep having this dream of a tropical Colombian paradise high in the gentle mountains where peaceful people tend long flowering "native" cannabis strains with exotic fruits. A place where a human can rejuvenate both mind and body. Where cannabis heals and sets straight one's perspective and alignment with the universe in the most healthy natural climates on the planet. Moon lit nights under star filled skies experiencing the pure Colombian Sativa to its fullest. A sensation so long missed. Sharing this experience with those who feel the same. Yeah that's the dream.

Winter is coming

Winter is coming

In my life nothing good ever came fast and nothing easy is good. That’s very general but the concept follows my life so far. My dream is becoming more reality and less dream everyday also with a lesson in patience. The dream is flexible and in constant flux, evolving.

But I envision a tropical paradise, virtually unknown to foreigners (until now), a place almost the opposite of typical tropical resort/hotel (even more secure)l. A simple very comfortable farm where nature takes center stage and everything else is a complement to it. Fresh mountain air and water with delicious organic foods grown and prepared at the farm. Forever flowering pure native Colombian strains growing to perfection in their native tropical high altitude environment. A safe relaxing place where you meet the gentle locals and experience the Colombian culture the media never speaks of. And at the center of this paradise will be my classic Colombian cannabis resurrection.

This is NOT my finca, pictures are to give an idea only

Offerings of classic buds like Gold, Corinto, black (night time) and of course the infamous Punto Rojo lovingly reproduced in their homeland. My guests will be able to sit down with me and taste the cannabis that made Colombia famous back in the day at the most beautiful setting on the planet. I’ll of course have many strains and types of cannabis products as this will be a “working” 100% legal farm producing not only cannabis but also exotic tropical fruits and vegetable with every type of flower and palm I can find.

My dream is that you leave the reality of your struggle just long enough for you to be reminded of what a wonderful human being you really are.

Exciting updates to follow!

Not just yet

Not just yet

It is the general consensus even in Colombia that the original drug strains that were cultivated decades ago are currently extinct. And for the most part I agree, however to think that somehow over the years every single plant in Colombia was hybridized is not true. This really a big country with most parts inaccessible and remote (where commercial cannabis is traditionally cultivated). But there are so many little “nooks & crannies” where one farmer kept growing the original strain he (and his family) grew for decades.

Colombian Santa Marta Gold

Although even more rare than before there are still pure Colombian strains being cultivated here. I base that statement on the fact that I’ve seen it and I’ve grown it here. Now what I’ve found may very well be some type of hybrid, I don’t know because I have yet to get any material to Sam for DNA testing, however what I’ve found is exactly the same or even better than the pounds and pounds I smoke of it in my youth. The same look, feel smell and taste, there’s no science to its definition, it is Colombian. The same range of effects with gold being lighter in effect with the darker being heavy and sedative. And I found that when I grew out the seeds from the “pure” Colombians here in Colombia I was rewarded with cannabis the way I always wished the Colombians would export.

SMG grown in Bogota

The real deal is still here and just like in 04-07 I’ll be growing it here but this time with preservation and reintroduction (with legalization) as the focus. This time around we will be able to see the true expressions of these rare genetics brought back to life.

Anthony Bourdain ( tv chef show) has often remarked on how locals (ppl) in non industrialised parts of the world don't realize the value and quality of their food and cooking reciepes/techniques. he mkes a strong attempt to show us how magnificent their culture is and how thru food we can "get a taste" of their valuable culture.

imo, redrider, kaiki and others are doing the same thru cannabis.

I think the work^^ is valuable and important. I believe the future of cannabis relies heavily on going back to the starting point of it all; landraces.

Landrace resurrection

Landrace resurrection

I love all good cannabis strains but to be honest I'm only interested in landrace, Colombian landrace. I believe in my heart and soul that they can be found and reproduced right where they came from. My mind explodes when I think what a modern breeder could do in Colombia with these strains. Ok enough dreaming here's what I'm burning today.
More crippy....yum....

This is very good quality cannabis by most standards but I get bored with it very quickly. But all that's going to change very soon when the finca is open (this year).

May your dreams come true indeed. Same truth I wish for this male too in several senses.

If you allow me, I will leave you here with this colombian boy... he will have a party I guess while my vacation absence.

I thought that maybe he would like some foreing females too you know more exotic for his tastes but I could only find 3 now, an Oldtimer's Haze and 2 Hazes from Sams developments

Could they be related and not be so foreign?
Hope Sam can tell us soon :moon:  :tiphat:

Best luck too

Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
those days are over
you don't have to sell your body to the night
roxanne, you don't have to wear that dress tonight
walk the streets for money
you don't care if it's wrong or if it's right
Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light
