Sweat cured/Sun cured/Bricked
That’s a very good question, I believe the process was intended to aid smuggling back when it was profitable. What I call fermentation occurs when the grower harvests the plants and simply puts them in a pile out in the sun. And or it could happen when being pressed into a brick and stored for a while. However now in Bogota this form of cannabis is not easily obtainable in fact quite rare as of late. There’s no market for it here as Colombians that do smoke only want sinsemilla that’s air cured. I myself like the flattened pressed bud for its deep rich flavor and its distinctive effect that reminds me of my youth. You would think after living here so long I would know how they press the bud but I’ve never met anyone to ask. I think soon that pressing the bud will become a lost art (and maybe retro desirable) in the future.
