Here's a little bit I grew awhile ago. Wispy, airy buds with a delayed effect.

Regardless of how it looks, I could smoke a lot of it and just get stupid high. Enough of it would put me to sleep.

The seed once again came from pressed bud out of the Santa Marta region (not the city) and grown out by me in Bogota.

haha, I will have get creative next time then... the truth about dabbing pollen with a q-tip isnt that entertaining.

I havent gone more than a couple days without burning some in sooo long, I cant imagine. congrats on keeping up your will power.

I don't recommend stopping, I'm trying to prove a point to the esposa. She was convinced that I'm a drug addict and I'm showing her she has no idea what I am. And I threw out all my good samples and George is out of town leaving me with my young friends to hook me up. So I'm going to wait. I don't like being mister straight but really no big deal (coca tea). Dreaming big time too.

Hello Mad Lab, congratulations on choosing a Colombian partner. I believe there's some Colombian grows on IC although I've never spoken to them. might check in the Spanish speaking sections. Cali and the valle de Cacua is where the best crippy is grown according to my Colombian buddy. I've never been there myself but that's where a lot of the fighting is. I think you'll have a great time there.

Haha thanks, it's pretty much living up to the stereotype, but thats a good thing, been 6 years now.

Do u still reside in bogota?

I'm not old enough to have memories of trying these famous strains in their heyday but I would definitely pay good money for a fat sack of that gorgeous coastal green from post #798 no nostalgia needed.

Really beautiful pictures in here! I sure do miss all that Punto Rojo I used to get back in the early 70's; my absolute favorite!

lol, you know you've been there awhile when you start writing laughs with ja ja too, lol.

that's great you pulled the trigger and moved there full time. my wife entertains the idea but i couldn't wrap my head around it just yet. i know i will love it when i visit, but trying to survive financially and worry about the day to day (not going out at night much, etc) hasn't allowed me to choose it over where i live now (lake tahoe).

would love to hear how it is for you.

also, was i understanding correctly you are trying to get into the medical mj game down there?

btw, beautiful flowers. i had a punta rojo pheno i used in a few crosses but lost her. :(. hoping to gather some true colombian while I'm down there.

Yes a "Rolo" is someone from Bogota (male). I couldn't imagine living anywhere else, Colombia is my home now. But it's not for everybody and you must really come here to judge for your self.
As far as seed in Cali I don't know, maybe your wife has someone there that could help you find crippy seed but land race require some looking around.
No I changed my mind about MMj, I don't want get into growing imported genetics here. It just about made me sick when I saw that there's a hydroponic shop here in Bogota. Indoor grown weed in Colombia is like, well I'm not going to say it but stupid. So now I'm just trying to reproduce the seeds I have and go from there.

If you stop by Bogota PM me before you arrive.

Yeah, landrace genetics are so special its hard to discard them for all the afghani/kush hybrids that are the mainstream these days.

Most people have to over-induldge in California kush hybrids/poly hybrids before they will truly appreciate the wonderful cannabinoid profiles of the various landraces. it make sense. i had to. you need to understand potency and intense flavor isn't EVERYTHING. yes, terpinoids are important, but thc content, not so much. its really in the diversity of cannabinoid profiles.

I have so much cookies and gorilla glue, but all i want is ANY landrace sativa i can find.. lol

durban, malawi, lambsbread and the punto rojo... but in california... good luck finding it.

as you say, soon colombia will be flooded with american genetics, and it will be even harder to find what makes colombia COLOMBIA. sad thing, but there will always be the connoisseur. and soon, america will follow suite with california. other states will get so dabbed out, and kushed out, they will soon desire the rarity i do, as do most californians that have overindulged. colombia will get kushed and dabbed out too once they experience it.

well since this is about vintage colombian, I do have some panama x punto rojo in veg... and some Santa Marta CG in seed form on deck to sprout.

also, Duban and Congolese sometimes end up in dispensaries around california... cuts of that kind of stuff still float around.

Children of the sun

Children of the sun

Again I would like to state that even though I live here I don’t know what’s going on everywhere in the country. I don’t go out into the bush looking for grows and talking to the narcos, that’s how you get kidnapped or worse. I deal with trusted natives that do know the growers and based on what I’m getting from them I make this assessment. Crippy has been here for over two decades, it’s nothing new at all and is the most desirable strain in the big cities. It’s easy to find seedless and really comparable to high end mids up north. I haven’t seen Punto Rojo in over 10 years however I have found gold from the Santa Marta and golden Corinto as well as what I call redbud and of course the black Colombian from Manizales. You must bear in mind that I’m very limited as to how much I can search; I’m just a simple English teacher with very little funds. So over the years I’ve sifted through pounds of seedy “regs” to find bud with an excellent effect regardless of how it looks. In 2015 I’m finding it very difficult to obtain “regs” in Bogota, heck even the bum’s smoke the Crippa now. However I’m positive that the “vintage” Colombian is still being cultivated but on a microscopic scale in very remote regions but it has no resale value and never leaves the farm. I’m not really concerned because I have the seed I want to grow and now I’m making seed from these rare plants. No I’m not interested in “selling” seed although at one point I thought selling seed would help me finance my finca. However once I have reproduced enough seed I will get them to real breeders to preserve and share.

Colombian coastal green grown @ 2,700+ mts in Bogota

I encourage anyone interested to come here and see for yourselves what can be found as I’m sure most would find something of value. As I have shifted from searching & collecting to growing/reproducing what I already have.

Any monetarily gains that may occur will only be by products of my passion, not the objective.

More to follow.

Passion

Passion

Here is some I grew a about a year ago. It was grown indoors. This was like 40 days I think. I have some more pictures buried someplace. I flowered it for about a year in a closet.

View Image

That plant is truly a work of art and display of pure passion and dedication. More proof of your true love for the plant, there is no price on that plant. How did she smoke and after flowering her for so long was it difficult for you to finally cut her down? Great job huligun, thanks for posting. Oh what strain is she?

The huge plant I grew out in my little court yard was really missed by my non smoking landlord. When I finally cut all of it down after about a years she came down and asked me why I killed the plant. I told her it was finished and time to harvest. She said next time let it grow as I was planting more seed.

Well I decided that when I come off my smoke break I will only burn the pressed buds I can find here. No more crippy, I turned some down today as a matter of fact. Really nice looking stuff too but I'll wait for George to get back from the bush (next week).

I can think of a few creative phrases to plug in here. Theres the presidential jokes. Of course the sex jokes. But I think there might be a childrens book title in there somewhere. wait, im confusing that with George of the jungle.

U know ur a pot snob when u wont even smoke opb (other peoples bud). Just kidding red, props to u for staying true to ur path. Me, im like a kid the first time dropping acid at the dead show. Im all over the fukin place.
