The Ethiopian I have is originaly from ACE I'm pretty sure but I'll ask the grower directly next time I see him.

Now looks like an opportunity for a long story. Back in 2018 when I was living in Bogota a package from ACE with three varieties, Malawi,Congo and Bangi Haze. I don't know why these seeds were sent to me but I have been greatful ever since. Again I'd like to thank ACE for this blessing. I didn't have the opportunity to grow any of these seeds until the next year in a different location in Bogota. First I grew the Congo, like three plants. I didn't care for it, funky plants with a strange effect. My Colombian friend however loved it and so did most everyone else that tried it. While I was finishing the Congo I grew 6 Malawi and I'm still growing it today.

ACE Malawi 2019 Bogota
I grew alot of varieties at that house in Bogota but the Malawi took the prize. I grew it in the back yard with no special care and every female was spectacular, one became my all time favorite plant ever. I cloned the keeper Malawi and outcrossed it but lost the original cut. The Bangi Haze also incredible, not as intense as the Malawi but very good and resident the extreme mountain climate of the Colombian mountains. My conclusion is ACE knows not only quality but the type of effect I personally like.
Now I've only tried three ACE varieties but none are comparable to the Yolanda plant. First the Yolanda wasn't finished flowering when I got the inmature branches and was over dried. And I just don't know anything about it's genetic origins so I don't even know what it's supposed to be like. If I could compare the effect with anything it would be a weak phenotype of cannabiogen Caribe but much different taste. Most people myself included like a little more potency than the Yolanda had but I believe if finished correctly Yolanda would have it.
I would recommend ACE Ethiopian although I've never grown it yet.

Actually Yolanda is the lady (a friend of my wife) that grew the plant I call Yolanda. I couldn't get any information about it from her. My Colombian buddy says it's probably from a seed bank somewhere down the line. I'm still smoking on the inmature flowers and we've found a few seeds so I'll try to grow them next year and see what it's about.

I'm drying the first little phenotype of my Samora. And letting the sister plant go longer.

Oh yes the interview with Matt last March. I'm going to do part 2 some time, just always working on something else. The next podcast I'd like to do from Greenies house. I've been practicing but it seems easier for me to write than tell stories. But yeah I hope to get back on there with Matt, notsodog and Rhao soon.

Samora F1 Pheno 1

Preliminary assessment:

Still slightly moist but burns well in glass pipe.

Smell: Rich fresh cannabis with a somewhat unremarkable familiarity. It's nice but nothing standout about it.

Taste: Although not dry the burnt hit tastes good, real good like candy. The flavor reminds me of “new car smell” with a creamy sweetness. The taste completely coats mouth and tongue, filling the nose with a tingling stringent burn . I'm pleased but the taste will change with a proper cure.

The hit:

My idea of crossing the moderate Caribe with the very potent Kamora F2 was to maintain (enhance) the rich flavor of the Caribe while bumping up potency. That's what we got kind of, it's better than I expected. The effect comes on relatively slow and creeps up incredibly well. Really nice bright euphoric waves build ever so satisfying to a climactic peak. Not too heavy but eyes get red and thoughts become deep as the effect runs it's natural course. Clean finish with positive after glow. So far I've hit no ceiling or tolerance re-uping but all day smoking gets sleepy. Overall I'm happy with the Samora F1 and will be growing more ASAP.

This is the sister Samora that's still going. I cut the other one way too early but I couldn't wait.
IMG_20231123_084352757_MFNR~2.jpg

Almost dry, it'll never see a cure cause I can't seem to leave it alone. But I like it, the taste and the clear effect. It's nice to have while I get the local sativa going. And I'm excited to see what these Hawaiians are about.
IMG_20231122_141538584_MFNR~2.jpg

These are the fastest plants I've ever grown, they dig Colombia.
IMG_20231122_141553263_MFNR~2.jpg

And this Sierra Leone plant I almost accidentally killed awhile back. Now it's coming back and has a spot designated in the greenhouse. Very tropical sativa, reminds of Thai or even Malawi. Anyway I like it and very thankful to the people that sent the genetics.
So thanksgiving, not here, no turkey no pumpkin pie but the important thing is family.
IMG_20231123_084407716_MFNR~2.jpg

And lots of this, happy Thanksgiving

Ahhh Panama, I grew some in Bogota back in 2016 . It was from cannabiogen genetics and was spectacular. I believe ACE has Panama that's related to or the same as cannabiogen. But yeah I really liked it, the plants really robust and excellent effect. I still have seeds should run it again here. Try ACE or cannabiogen if you can find them for Panama.

Forward progress is going on, I'm hoping to be operational within the next couple weeks.
IMG-20231129-WA0015.jpeg

My selected plants are ready to go into the ground and start processing. This greenhouse is only for flowering, I don't want any power run to it. No reason for lights in there.

It's this time of year I enjoy watching the weather up north. Here this is the best weather of the year.

Nice tasty Samora F1, I like it. Very nice smell and taste with the type of effect I'm shooting for.
IMG_20231201_065545246_MFNR~3.jpg

That's wet of course but it's rock solid and really could have gone longer. Time to move on to the next group to flower.
IMG_20231201_120308269_MFNR.jpg

Four in the rear are muisca sativa, that I've never grown but I've seen flowered plants. These Colombians get huge and I'm hoping with some care will produce some serious lumbo. The front two are Kamora F3s that I'm finally about to grow in the ground. Not expecting giants but I'd like to see higher yields.

Moving right along although the greenhouse is not finished. It's slow going but I believe I'll have plants in the ground this month.
IMG_20231207_065407151_MFNR~2.jpg

These are the four Colombians and one little Kamora F3. They're getting a little root bound but I think we'll be okay if I can get them in the ground soon.
IMG_20231207_065426132_MFNR~2.jpg

This is the Hawaiian group coming up nicely. The guy that brought them here can't recall exactly what they are but he said they were good.
IMG_20231207_065419403_MFNR~2.jpg

The two Old Haze plants are doing well and should be going to the greenhouse early next year. Hope to do a repro if they're worthy.
IMG_20231207_065400305_HDR.jpg

And this beautiful Sierra Leone sativa. Very tropical sativa with super thin leaves. I want to grow a lot of this variety if it grows well here.
I've been smoking the Samora F1 for a couple weeks now and getting to know it. Ridiculous yield this time but super high quality. One of my objectives with this Kamora outcross was to mellow the Kamora hit with the low potency Caribe. Well the two phenotypes I grew are equally or stronger than the father. It's totally different but no reduction in potency. For me the Samora creeps alot more than the Kamora which along with the addictive taste causes overindulgence. In the morning wake up with red eyes and cotton mouth.
