About 10 years ago in Bogota I started seeing this "crippi". It cost a little more but was seedless and potent.
IMG_6111.JPG

But I was in and out of work during this time and economics caused me to buy the cheaper Corinto.
IMG_6169.JPG

Actually I preferred the Corinto as I got much more for the peso and I like the cleaner hit.
IMG_6163.JPG

There was always a different type of Corinto but it always came fully seeded and pressed.

Well actually it's all outdoor, even the crippi is grown outdoors. Crippi isn't a strain but more of a type of weed. It's grown outdoors all over the country and some is better than others. I was in Cartagena a couple years ago and bought some crippi on the beach and I really liked it. Very indica hit but nice and relitivly clean.
I prefer my weed but it's nice to try what's locally around.
IMG_6083.JPG

This is from 2013 showing crippi side by side with Corinto. Both interesting but to me the Corinto has more character and reminds me of vintage Colombian.

This left bud isnt grown outdoors 100%
Here lots of people are story tellers of some kind.

This is how very good outdoor grown look.
But shure you have talent for story telling.
Way different than this indoor bud you post before.

Western people invite weed strain names, before this weed was weed.
Shure weed is global used plant and it have billions of name for it. But it dont represent "strain" of weed.

I don't know anything about "indoor" but I do know that electrify cost money and growing indoors for commercial cannabis just doesn't seem logical. I mostly know about the weed I grow.

Well I bought that cannabis in Bogota over 10 years ago so I don't know how or even where it was grown. I come to the conclusion that it's outdoor (Colombian) because I only paid about half a dollar a gram (2,000 cop), there's no profit here to sell at that price if it was grown using expensive electricity. (Best light source is outside and free)But I've never flowered a plant under a light, my experience here in Colombia and in the USA is strictly sun grown.
IMG-20211012-WA0012.jpeg

I don't really have much experience with commercial cannabis any more because I'm pretty much set and there's no need to buy.
I still on occasion sample gifted crippi and 99% sure it's sun grown.
IMG-20211009-WA0072.jpeg

But again I'm no expert, I can only really comment on my personal experience.

I guess from a picture it's hard to tell but this is sun grown Colombian crippi. That's just based on my personal experience because I'm no expert.

Really I have no interest in anything indoor, my passion is and always has been sun grown Colombian narrow leaf tropical sativa. That's really all I know or care about.

Yeah I got this nasty weed ego and I have to constantly keep it in check but occasionally it slips out. Bottom line is I'm still learning and making mistakes.
Today for the first time that I'm aware of I smoked some truly rightius indoor grown bud. Actually we sampled several delightful varieties that really impressed me. My neighbors from Seattle who are one of the first American owned (that I'm aware of) cannabis hotel/B&B in boyacá, havested some really tasty flower. Although right nextdoor I haven't been up to see them for awhile just due to simple laziness. So my buddy from Hawaii finally arrived and we went up to the B&B to say hello. They're still in preparation stage upgrading the entire finca and big improvements have been made since my last appearance. But dude shows us some of the indoor weed I think I ever had. I've known this guy for years but never actually smoked anything he grew. Turns out dude knows what he's doing all I can say is respect. Although I have no interest in growing anything under lights, it was a real treat getting to hit some of his killer indo.

Bogs genetics
I also came to find out the entire Yolanda plant got cut down after a heavy downpour over the weekend. I really like it but it seems I'm the only one. Couple over people that tested it said it hits like it looks. I still think it's excellent morning coffee smoke.
IMG_20231017_222759482_MFNR.jpg

No idea where the pollen came from cause it was just the one plant in the grow area but we found three seeds (so far). We will try to reproduce to investigate further this interesting local variety.
So good stuff going on but still some unfinished with Ruth and a possible expedition to Zipacon. I'll see how it goes but looking better.

We smoked some Yolanda this morning and I would say the ceiling is pretty high. My buddy said this morning he did get a really nice high from it. The day before he smoked many different kinds before hitting the Yolanda and couldn't feel it. But I think he was tired from spending three days in Bogota with my friend there and then bus trip to Paipa. Anyway so this morning after a good nights sleep we sat a the kitchen table and smoked and nice joint and pow sent the next two hours building a strategy. But then we started smoking some beautiful sun grown Ethiopian sativa before heading to town for some empanada 🥟. Found five seeds in the Yolanda so far and we hope to grow in the December season.

Yeah the one I had with similar effect to your Yolanda seemed to have a relatively high ceiling but I only smoked three times all on the same day.

Glad to hear you found a few seeds! Good luck with the repro!

Any ideas about the origin/back story on the Yolanda plant? Is it coming from Bogota? Or a BOG seeds (RIP) strain?

Bad news is none of my really old Colombian seeds popped. So I started some Old Haze #11 and 7 did pop. I have some indica from California I'm germinating too just for fun. I do appreciate a nice indica if it's grown the way I believe is correct. But I'm really excited about the new local varieties I'm going try this dry season. Música and this one from Yolanda, also from Paipa.

In this case looks are deciving because I get a very nice effect from it. It's bone dry and leafy yet the smoke is smooth and tasty. Surprising potent hit that reminds me of good Mexican that mood altering in a positive way. Unlike my wife that can be mood altering in a negative way.
View attachment 18901564
Just two or three hits and my mood brightens with a perma smile. This euphoric effect intensifies with more smoking and lasts about an hour. Of course compared to the Malawi donate Kamora it's mild and short duration but I don't always want to get blown away.

red rider
Of course I will continue to work with the Colombian genetics and I believe that to be the draw for certain tourist. But I would like to offer other what I consider old school varieties and concentrates. Narrow leaf tropical varieties that only do well here, old Mexicans, Jamaican, Sierra Leone, Malawi (cobbled?) And other non modern hype type stuff I already grow. But like I said I'm just thinking and talking now because technically it's still illegal. I've been told (might be bs) by a couple hotel owners that the Mayor of Paipa could do something to make sales legal in Paipa. But I don't know, anyway I've got the finca now and kinda stupid not to do it.

red rider
Ooh, we Havnt talked about that. Is it the new mayor or the previous one? We can be the pilot project at GreeniesHouse.com 🤜🏼🔥🤛🏼

Waiting to speak with the new Mayor but still planning on moving forward with the hotel/spa plan. I'm hoping to have some respectable samples early next year.

Samora F1 (Caribe x Kamora)
These are tester plants just to see if I want to work further with the cross.
IMG_20231105_160201243_MFNR~3.jpg

Could be a winner but requires smoking to know for sure.
Looking forward to growing the Paipa sativa in the greenhouse later this year, believe there's something good there.
And a few "Hawaiian" plants for the greenhouse once big enough to flower.
IMG_20231105_160355999_MFNR.jpg

Incredible viguar as these are fresh seeds directly from the big island of Hawaii. Should be an interesting winter.

I believe at the moment the exchange is like 4100 COP to a dollar. Now is a great time to visit Colombia if you have dollars. But I'm sure inflation is different now, everything is a lot more expensive now. Twenty years ago I could get an entire roasted chicken for under 9000 pesos, now it's like 35,000 . Still it's incredible what you can buy here for 50,000 COP (12 USD).

I've been smoking on this Ethiopian for about three weeks now. Everybody around here loves it and it is pretty good although not my favorite.
IMG_20231112_133558427_MFNR~3.jpg

The hit is strong and the taste pretty good but to me it's boring. It's potent but even in the morning the hit has very little euphoria or creative thinking. Other people tell me it's racy and gears them up but if I smoke it after lunch I go to sleep. Maybe I'm just picky cause I didn't grow it but I prefer my plants.

Is the Ethiopian from Ace? I was thinking about that one for my euphoria hunt ... maybe not now

Btw have you ever had something with a similar high to that Yolanda plant I liked from a seedbank?
