I don't care for "hot" climates, two days in Cartagena and I'm ready to get back to the mountains. I see the news with all the heat waves and extream temperatures and I can only imagine. But here at the farm it's the rainy season so temps are relitivly low. Cloudy days and clear nights keep daytime temps around 12 to 17 degrees Celsius. But there's other factors like wind and RH. To me for growing it's too cold, it's too high in altitude here. However I'll make something work here and get some sativa going.
As far as the hash, I really do overall prefer dry sift hand pressed over bubble. But I've never used a washing machine and new bags so I maybe was drunk with happiness as well as the hash.

(Kamora F2)
I have been learning that knowing how to do something and doing it well are two different things. It's also an energy issue, how much energy do I want to invest in any project. I like working alone, I don't like bosses or partners nor do I want to teach or be the boss. I like doing the job and then looking at the results on my terms.
IMG_20230804_101515824_MFNR~2.jpg

Now I do work with others (only people I feel are cool) and enjoy building new projects that are of interest. But yeah so sativa bubble is on my to do list.
Step by step, next a small greenhouse and a proper grow program.

I haven't made very much bubble and this is the first time with a machine but this has got to be the best yet. It's crazy potent but clean and finishes nicely.

Different microns , different flavors and effects. It's a nice change from flower but the quest continues.

I sampled an early tester bud of the Kamora F2 this morning. It's no where ready to harvest but the tester was covered in trics. As I hit the pipe my love for this beautiful mixture of genetics I've been working on the past few years. The type of high from the F2 is what I'm looking for. Despite abusing bubble hash for the last week, I felt the first hit of the little Kamora bud. Like most people
IMG_20230811_110046754_MFNR.jpg

I want strong potent cannabis but there's a difference. It's like (but not really) whiskey, 80 proff two dollar a bottle compared to 80 proff Crown royal (for example). Both are 80 proff and both are strong and intoxicating but a different effect all together. I'm not in anyway a "breeder" or some kind of expert, what I do is grow plants and ones I like I reproduce. I don't care what others think or what's interesting to then, I know what I want and how to do it.

When I find a variety that I like and I start selecting there's one thing I look for. The hit is the only critiria I'm interested in. How strong it is and if it motivates me, how clean it is as well as a multitude of other positive factors. If it don't hit right I don't make seeds with it. Things like smell, taste, morphology, yield and flower time are very secondary.

Although weeks away from harvest I am very pleased with the F2 (well this phenotype, mother of the F3). Incredible smell and taste with a strumming sativa kick and clean finish. Kamora is at the moment my favorite but there's some new kids in town that might teach us something new.

Nice break in the clouds last few days after an earthquake and huge hail storm.
IMG_20230826_075832073_MFNR~3.jpg

Finding germanating seeds to be difficult and when they do Pop they die in the soil. I believe it to be the cold for some reason so I've been germanating at the house in town where it's slightly warmer.
IMG_20230825_092800225_MFNR.jpg

This is a nice Sierra Leone plant that's new in town. I'm getting ready for flowering in December. Trying to time the sativa from December through May.
IMG_20230826_075753923_MFNR.jpg

Hoping to have my small greenhouse built around October and prepare for flower. No lights in the greenhouse so it's just for flower, I'll do the veg plants near the house.
Strawberrys are coming along nicely.

Kamora F2 is crushing it with a few more weeks to go.
IMG_20230826_075352409_MFNR.jpg

I'll be looking through the f3s this year too. I've got samples of Kamora F2 in the USA now to see how they do up there.

Personally I rarely leave the farm and no plans to.
IMG_20230824_112742200_MFNR~3.jpg

I'm really happy with the Kamora F2 and now I'm slowly harvesting the F3 seeds.
IMG_20230827_154632857_MFNR~3.jpg

I'm anticipating good returns once the greenhouse is operational. The challenge here is high winds and cold night time temp's. This finca is a little higher altitude than I feel is optimal for cannabis but still capable of producing superior quality.
So I'm hoping optimistically that the greenhouse is operational around October, November should be rainy.

The Paipa sativa, which is what I call it for lack of a better name, is one I really should be working with. The samples I tried were interesting but can't compare to the Malawi (ACE), not even close. Last five years I've grown literally hundreds of Malawi plants and never found one I didn't like. Malawi is really good for growing in this climate. Although I harvested live plants (2) of the Paipa sativa I've never grown it. But it's not nearly as strong as Malawi and not as intense. Actually the Paipa sativa doesn't seem as strong as my favorite SMG. But I do like it and I should make some F2s. The Paipa sativa is potent like Caribe or SMG but with a different effect.

I've been really enjoying the Kamora F2 that finally finished. First finished plant at this finca. This particular phenotype has a beautiful skunk hash aroma that I love. The smell isn't as strong as I'd like it but it's there and the hit is right where I want it. It is a little strong for all day puffing but nice and clean.

I'm hoping to flower some of the f3s in December.

So I got out a little bud I'd been jar curing for 4 months. It's the MHZ x SMG I made the bubble hash with about a month ago.
IMG_20230906_133248366_MFNR~5.jpg

The hash gets better every day but I try to save it for special occasions. But I started smoking the MHZ x SMG pre dawn and through the AM and the Kamora the rest of the day.
IMG_20230907_150346447_MFNR~3.jpg

I like the flavor of the cured MHZ x SMG now a lot more, goes perfectly with fresh coffee.

Paipa is thought of as a tourist destination locally. And is kinda set up that way, the main attraction being the thermal springs near the lake. There's several hotels and spas as well as restaurants and gift shops. There's kind of a strip with shops, restaurants and night club type bars. The town has grown considerably in the 20 years I've been coming here. I know a few hotels and spas that are very interested in selling/providing specialty cannabis at theirs facilitates. My idea is working with these local hotels and spas providing them with some of my flowers/hashish. Very limited, very exclusive Paipa sun grown small batch old school (seedless) Colombian. I'm just thinking about doing this because I don't want any big commitments. But I dig the idea of cannabis people coming to holiday in Paipa and getting to experience the best locally grown (outdoor) cannabis. I'm thinking really small and simple.

That sounds like a perfect fit dude. I know there's a market for high-end niche weed everywhere in the world, and keeping it focused on local landraces should appeal to all. Would you be selling pure Colombian sativas or crosses with non-Lumbo stuff?
